There are times in the Dark Where I find myself looking at– The girl in the mirror– The one that I Murdered– The one who still Lives in my eyes– And breathes new life– When the saccharine howls of the dinner guests beckon Her from her grave

Sometimes I wonder, behind the glassy mirror Eyes glazed over in acceptance– exhaustion– Whether or not I’ve lied to the girl– Whether she should have died at all– If I truly wanted to denounce Girlhood before It grew up– or if it was just easier than Admitting that I’d Failed at it

Too late now, the wolves sing– The red on their teeth matching the dress– The red on my hands– The red lipstick I wear to prove to the world that I can play its stupid game– I don’t want to play Never did But I already dug the grave

time to be overly sentimental.

I am so glad that one day i decided to plonk myself down in front of my laptop and actually write down the little story that had been accumulating in my head.

if not then i dont think i would have ever become so entwined with the rottmnt fandom, because that was the springboard that lead to me creating all my other comics as well.

And this fandom is the most welcoming i have ever been in. Its full of the most talented and most welcoming people and i am so thankful to be here.

I love all of you, each little like and reblog fills me with so much joy, and when you comment on any of my work -even with just a simple heart- it absolutely makes my day.

This community has made my life so much brighter. i never thought i would be involved in something as amazing as this, so thank you, for absolutely blowing my expectations out of the water.

People underestimate how much it fucks you up to be subtly excluded as a kid. I would try to talk to my classmates and be met with disinterest or annoyance. The one friend I had, who I clung to and nodded along to his every word, had other friends he liked just as much or more. And his other friends didn’t care for me at all.

I look back at pictures from the time and see how separated I was from them. I remember knowing I was different. I remember posing questions about the world to the girls playing next to me and realizing that they had never asked the same ones to themselves. That the ways we thought couldn’t be more different.

I kept myself amused with my own fanatical stories and musings in my head. I would wander the playground on a circular path, imagining a friend and being sorely disappointed when it didn’t feel as real as I’d hoped.

There was a bubble separating me from everyone else, thin, and nearly invisible, but with a pearly sheen you could catch under the right conditions. I knew it was there, they knew it was there, and it changed me
