A message from Rob Wilkins.
Shortly before he died, Terry Pratchett assured me that, if there is an afterlife, he would give me a ring and let me know. That was ten years ago - and still no call.
From which, incidentally, I draw no firm conclusions. What if there was an afterlife, but with no phone signal?
But of course there is one place where Terry indisputably lives on: in the pages of his books and in the minds of the millions of readers around the world who turn those pages and continue to find them funny and true. For, while his words live on, so does Terry, and that will be the case, no question, not just for this one decade so quickly gone, but for many further decades to come.
So let me join Lyn and Rhianna in raising a glass today to the magical persistence of books and to Sir Terry; gone but still so very firmly with us.
Rob Wilkins

someone on twitter is trying to claim that use of an em-dash is an indication of AI-generated writing because it’s “relatively rare” for actual humans to use it. skill issue

I love how fully Gideon the Ninth commits to the country house murder mystery vibe.
Not only has everyone been called to an ostentatious and decrepit pile by a mysterious benefactor, but you have a great range of murder mystery stereotypes:
- Military officers who think the whole murder thing could be resolved with just a bit more discipline
- Gorgeous socialite sisters with a dark secret
- Eccentric gentlewoman scholar and her young wards
- Professor curiously close to his manservant
- Tragic convalescent
- Useless clergyman
- Socially awkward orphans
Not to mention the staff of the house who do not seem to be entirely honest about its past.

i think if columbo and poirot met, poirot would make columbo realise he's gay. but poirot would not act on it because poirot is deeply closeted and also a bit sex repulsed except when it's hastings, but columbo wouldnt leave mrs columbo either. he loves her even though he's not into her that way, but he's still attracted to her though. and also jessica fletcher would be there too, she's always there when there are gays around, she's like the patron saint protector of the gays or something like that

Spoiler for the Chamuel ending:
Well, here are their human forms. Chamuel looks pretty much as expected, but I was kinda hoping Dream Eater would look more goth. At least he's tired. o-)

If anyone is into this sorta thing, check out Angel’s Egg, directed by Mamoru Oshii and Yoshitaka Amano. Er… by “this sorta thing” I mean like… “interesting artistic interpretations of stuff from one culture by someone from a different culture”.
