Promise

“Runaan, I’m gonna have to ask you to do something.”

Runaan’s eyes darted to the staff in Callum’s hands as he got to his feet. He didn’t speak, clearly waiting for Callum to do so.

“There’s a spell that can trap Aaravos,” Callum spoke quickly, wanting to explain his plan before Runaan had a chance to object. “I- I’m going to have to do dark magic- and as soon as I finish the spell, Aaravos is going to possess me-”

“Possess you?” Runaan started, eyes once again moving between Callum’s face and the staff.

“He’s done it before, but- but-” A vision of Rayla opening her arms to him flashed in his mind’s eye, taking his breath away. His one deep truth...

He was going to have to let her down. He had to do dark magic again. It was the only way to save her.

His voice caught in his throat as he thought about Rayla, about what he’d made her promise. Maybe he could at least free her from that-

“I made Rayla promise she’d kill me if Aaravos ever possessed me again, but-” His voice broke as he blinked back tears.

Runaan exhaled sharply, gripping his bow. “You wish for me-”

“Rayla will never forgive herself if she’s the one who-” He sighed, regaining a little of his composure. “But she’ll forgive you.”

“Callum, there must be another way-” Runaan frowned, shaking his head.

“There isn’t time!” He steeled himself; they needed to leave. “Aaravos is already on his way to the Sun Forge. This is the only way to save her. To save everyone.”

Runaan sighed, holding Callum’s gaze for a moment before he nodded slowly.

“Thank you,” Callum’s voice broke again.

Now that it was decided, fear began to creep in. He didn’t have time for that, for second guessing.

“Tell her, I’m sorry. That I wish there was another way.” He bit his lip as his throat grew tight. “And- and, tell her I love her… I love her so much and I wish we could have had more time-”

Runaan took a shaky breath, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Callum’s voice caught in his throat and his vision swam as tears filled his eyes. “Tell her I wish… I wish we could have had that nice, quiet life.”

Ethari and Runaan are some of my favourite characters because of their character development, designs, and their relationship. I love how every small detail about them compliments one another, and how they just seem so perfect. How their relationship isn’t shoved in your face, but their affection is clear in every action they make.

Tiadrin and Lain are my other favourites, because I headcannon them as fucking idiots, but also love them with my whole heart.

So I have created a dragon prince OC a few months ago and I wanted to talk about her!

Meet Reena! She is a skywing elf who Runaan and Ethari adopted! They adopted her a couple months after the whole Aaravos thing in arc 2. She was found lost in the moonshadow forest, injured with a broken wing and was just trying to find some sort of shelter. Until a moonshadow elf found her and rushed immediately to the silvergrove to get her first-aid. That moon shadow elf was none other than Runaan! He and Ethari took her in while they waited for her wing to heal and started to bond with her, they soon adopted her a couple weeks later.

Reena was adopted when she was 7 years old. She was taught by Runaan on how to fight, hunt, and just the basic survival skills. On the other hand, Ethari taught her how to create jewelry, cook, and would often go hunting for crystals with her! She would then grow up to find out that she was a mage! Her brother-in-law (Callum) would be her mentor and would teach her all she needed to know about the sky primal.

Although she grew up to fight, create jewelry, learning on how to be a mage, the only thing she wants to be in the world is a star.

She loves to perform, dance, sing. When she grows up, she will travel around Xadia, performing anywhere and every where

Okay yall, I really wanna start prepping for the ren fair since ren fair season is coming up (although technically it won't start till June for me). I need tips for my outfit. I have many many ideas, but my main one is toucan themed. I want it to have a huge cape with a hood and the hood is a toucan and it's beak, while the further down it goes, it has beautiful feathers. I also need to keep in mind of the heat since Colorado is one big oven in the summer.
