Young Royals Drabble Challenge Week 2024

Hello everyone, and welcome to the first ever Young Royals drabble challenge!

The challenge will take place between September 2-9 and the rules are pretty simple:

Pick a prompt (we are providing suggestions, but you don't actually need to use any of them).

Write a drabble - but attention! A drabble is a 100-word short fic. Exactly 100 words. The term has been popularized in fandom to mean any very short fic, but for this event, your drabble must have exactly 100 words - not 99, not 101, one hundred. Yes, we know that's hard. That's the challenge. 😉

Post it, tagging us — @youngroyals-events — in the body of the post and using the tag #YRDC2024.

Now, here are some additional guidelines and suggestions:

You can post the whole drabble here, or post it to AO3 and post the link on Tumblr.

You can post on any day of the designated week, and as many drabbles as you want.

You can post drabble by drabble, or more than one drabble at once. The same goes for posting each drabble as a chapter of a fic on AO3. However, we don't suggest doing either of these things, since tagging ends up confusing and makes it difficult for people to find or avoid your fics. Our suggestion, therefore, is to make a masterpost with links to all the drabbles you post here on Tumblr, and/or to create a series on AO3 for grouping your drabbles.

Explicit drabbles are allowed, but if you post the drabbles in their entirety here, please use the tag #NSFW as well - we'll be using the same one in these cases. You can also include additional tags and/or a warning at the top of the post. On AO3, the tags are at your discretion.

There's something kinda funny about how RWBY just absolutely refuses to die despite a constant stream of adversity. The first season was objectively hot garbage but it still got a second season. The creator of the series whose passion project the whole thing was passed away in a freak accident after the second season but they just kept going without him and somehow a significant portion of the fanbase went along for it. The budget got slashed in Season 5 because of gross mismanagement but no worries! The fans stuck with it and they got it back for Season 6. Then a few seasons later the entire company that's been producing it went completely tits up and we all assumed THAT would be the end but nope!!! They got bought by Viz. RWBY has now outlived both the man who dreamt it up and the company that produced it. In an era where numerous streaming shows get axed after one or two seasons despite being critical successes with large fanbases it is completely baffling that a show that is so consistently troubled and infamously has an extremely mixed reception cannot be fucking ended despite all indications to the contrary. It truly is femslash Supernatural

A lot of very difficult and serious suffering happens to us. No one can understand or bear it. Today is a difficult day. My son Amir is in a very bad situation. Unfortunately, health centers and hospitals were destroyed. He is in a difficult situation. I have nothing left in this life except my family. After the occupation destroyed everything, our home, my future, and my dreams.

This campaign is dedicated to treating Amir. Amir suffered from a lack of oxygen at birth and muscle relaxation. Amir's condition was very bad, but with physical therapy and physiotherapy, he finally started moving. But with the war that broke out in Gaza, all physical therapy centers were closed, medicines were rare and sometimes absent, and their prices rose. Amir's condition began to get worse and worse. Amir must return to his physical therapy, and he has the right to return to walking. This situation is special and exceptional.

Amir must leave Gaza, complete his treatment, and live like any child in the world. There are no necessities for living in Gaza. It has become very difficult. The bombs that gather above our heads, poison us with the water we drink. There is no food except at fantastic prices. We suffer from high temperatures. Children who cannot afford it.
