I mean. If she didn't want to look bad on social media, she could have tried NOT being a terrible person?
Istg this is the behavior of around 90% of people/institutions when they complain about 'being made to look bad on social media'.
And in this case, we have the FULL CONTEXT of her actions, so there is actually, *factually* no excuse.
Edit: and law enforcement should have fucking know better. At ANY point in time, they should have. Just. Fucking. STOPPED.

Save a Gazan journalist's life.
I won't keep you long. Here are the facts:
Siraj Abudayeh @siraj2024 is a Gazan journalist and a father of three.
He and his family have been displaced 7 times.
They have survived multiple recent massacres in Khan Yunis.
They live in a tent that feels like a "convection oven".
He can hear tank fire across the street.
His parents and siblings escaped Deir al-Balah and are now homeless; he has to care for them too.
He needs to raise $5,000 CAD / $3653 USD by the end of the day.
He's probably gotten a hundred thousand notes on his posts at this point.
This has been meaningless. His campaign moves at a glacial pace.
The Palestinian genocide is the fault of the US, UK, Israel, and the imperial core in general.
When we in the imperial core do not donate to people like him, we perpetuate the genocide.

Project Dragon was a game that was in development for 3 years only to be canceled weeks from its announcement and its entire art and development team laid off by the Phoenix Labs. The game (which would have been called 'Everhaven' upon release) was intended to be a multiplayer sandbox rpg taking inspiration from both Minecraft and Breath of the Wild, with an art style similar to that of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which some of the team members also worked on along with Crash Bandicoot 4.
According to character design/illustrator Nicolas Kole "Our cancelled project of the last 3 years is officially, truly dead as of today (internal attempts to save it failed), and the embargo on the whole body of portfolio work has been lifted". This means that the only way the game has a chance of resuming development is by raising awareness and spreading the word of it's development. More info from Nicolas Kole and #BringBackProjectDragon Even if you're not interested in the game itself, you can find the concept art, animations, 3D models, music and all other completed pieces of work for the game being shared by the team at either of these links, and I think are worth checking out. Some mounts and NPCs
4 of the 5 playable starter races (5th being human of course)

TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
Shahed muhammed is a 20 yr old who is trying to raise funds to save herself and her family. Her father is a heart patient and her younger siblings are suffering from severe hepatitis from the polluted water of Gaza.
She has only raised 17.1k out of the 50k she needs.
With rumours of rafah crossing opening up soon, shahed has very little time left to evacuate her little siblings out of Gaza, if not herself and her parents, so they can get to safety and have access to the medical treatment they need.
SHAHED HAS TO GET TO $30K IN THE NEXT WEEK
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:
For just $5, donate to shahed's gfm so you can enter the raffle being conducted at @journalsforpalestine by @turian and stand to win one of these lovely journals. All of them will be shipped internationally.
This gfm was verified and appears on the list of vetted fundraisers maintained by hussein @/el-shab-hussein and nairuz @/nabulsi (#224) so please dont hesitate to share and donate!

This is a prison industry, which are two words that should NEVER belong in the same sentence, but here we are. Prison labour has made it profitable for big corporations to put as many people as possible in prison for as long as possible, which is part of the reason why wages in the US are stagnating so much - after all, why pay a crew of qualified infrastructure builders 16$ an hour, when you can pay once to rent a bunch of people who will be forced to do the same work for free? Oh, wait, not for free, these guys are paid an average of 0.86$ per day, guess this ain't real slavery after all, except it fucking is, because there is functionally no difference between not being paid at all and being paid so little that you literally can't afford any basic necessity.
A similar logic applies to immigrants as well. Corporations and employers would rather hire a desperate guy from Mexico or Morocco or India on the verge of poverty who would gladly work for 7$ an hours if it means having a chance to not DIE ON THE STREET rather than like, an actual citizens whose rights are supposedly protected by the law, and they can do this because of a system that hase made it convenient to prey on the helpless.
So personally, I suggest looking into #EndTheException. And vote for motions in your city/town hall councils that call for this exception to be abolished.

I think some people forget that some literature and some media is meant to be deeply uncomfortable and unsettling. It's meant to make you have a very visceral reaction to it. If you genuinely can't handle these stories then you are under no obligation to consume them but acting as if they have no purpose or as if people don't have a right to tell these stories, stories that often relate to the darkest or most disturbing parts of life, then you should do some introspection.

To the people being like 'oooh italy is fascist', 'oooh of course italy doesn't decline the opportunity to help fascist', let me tell you this..
You are ABSOLUTELY right, especially now that Italy is under the most far-right government since the time of Mussolini. You know, the OG fascist.
This is a government who once approved a decree that provides up to 6 years of imprisonment for 'illegal parties and rallies', which despite being presented as a measure against rave parties, could be applied to any gathering of more than 50 people that are deemed to be 'dangerous', so, you know, that's fun (I actually don't have a lot of info on whether or not this is still a thing).
This is the government who essentialy removed 'abuse of power' as a punishable crime.
This is the government who decided that the children of homosexual couples could only have one legal parent. You know, so that if that parent dies the child is officially an orphan, regardless of the other person who has been a parent figure for a substantial part of said child's life.
Like, I'm not even kidding when I'm saying that fascism in Italy has seemingly skyrocketed, there are people who go on pilgrimages to visit Mussolini's tomb. Which is a mausoleum. (WHY it's still standing is completely BEYOND me. Like, I get it, it's a piece of history, and it's important to remember history because the people who don't are doomed to repeat it, but at this point it's clear this tomb is having the EXACT OPPOSITE effect.)
So yeah, the situation in Italy isn't great. It's not as bad as the time of the fascist regime. Or as the Years of Lead, when fascist terrorism was rampant. But holy shit, that is some quality glow-in-the-dark paint they used to write on the wall.
Anyways, it is objectively unethical to support a government who has a hand in the massacre of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians. And if your government is taking your hard-earned money as tax, and using it to fund such disgusting acts, then let me tell you something; it would be objectively ethical for you to demand that this CHANGES, by any means possible. So, whatever you can do - spread awareness, protest, boycott, vote - just do it. Anything can make a difference. It's easy to fall prey to hopelessness, especially when watching news and broadcasts and Internet posts about all the powers that politicians and corporations have, to the point where people usually forget that the world IS a much better place than it was before. Average infant mortality has decreased, we have defeated an ENTIRE disease, the world is a HORRIBLE place, the world is BETTER than before, the world can be BETTER than it is now. But only if WE act together. For all their mighty armies, even kings couldn't hold on to their divine right to rule forever.
and sorry for the rant.
ISRAEL JUST BOMBED YEMEN!!
Israeli airforces bombed Al-Hudayda city, igniting petroleum refinery facilities and killing almost 70 people so far! (X) (X) (X)
It is also said that they were aided by Italian airforce (X)
#imagine bombing one of the poorest countries in the world#that’s so fucking embarrassing#israel continues to exude small little micro dick energy#<- and as usual italians would never decline aiding fashs#couldn't agree more#the italian government is terrible#palestine#free palestine#free gaza#israel#italy#politics#fascism#fascismo#mini rant#this is like#not even a recent thing#personal rant

6 VERIFIED PALESTINIAN FUNDRAISERS WITH LESS THAN 10% OF THE MONEY RAISED (part 4)
I would like to bring attention to the fundraisers that are struggling to get any donations. Unfortunately they are a lot so I'm starting with ten of them. These are all verified by el-shab-hussein and nabulsi and you can find all of them, and many others, in this list.

Oooh! That's kind of cool!
...the first time I stumbled upon that piece of info I was terrified, because I *do* have a rather old book from the 1920s with green on its cover which I *never* handled with gloves and it left me TERRIFIED.
Edit: unfortunately, I can't find any pictures of it, so I'll have to take a new one. I don't *know* for certain if the book was made with arsenic in its cover or not, but I'd rather not risk it.
Edit 2: @upennmanuscripts In order not to touch it, I left it where it was, so I was only able to take a picture of its spine.
From that time I opened it, I remember it having some wonderful illustrations depicting wildlife, I think it's pretty neat overall.
confidential to our Tumblr followers, we love you the most.

On the Same Planet but in Different Worlds: Gazans are Humans Too!
Allow me to point out some of the blessings that people, unlike those in the strange scary world of Gaza, are inclined to take for granted and rarely do they reflect on:
Plenty of food, vegetables, and fruits.
Electricity 24/7.
Drinkable water 24/7.
No horrifying sounds of explosions, no head-splitting buzzing of Israeli drones in their sky, and no scary shaking of their houses because of the continuous bombardment.
No fear of ending up buried under the rubble of their cozy beautiful houses.
No scary thoughts about getting killed in an airstrike before drifting off at night.
Access to quality education for them and their children.
A plea from one family to another: kindly help me get my family to a safe place before I lose them forever. The situation in Gaza only moves from bad to worse. My family is stranded in the most hellish conditions ever, so I am dedicating to helping them evacuate to Egypt as soon as possible.
Join me in securing a dignified safe life for my family and a prosperous future for the children who have been deprived of education for a year.
Even worse, it seems they won't receive any education for another year at least as the ravaging cruel war continues and most Schools have been viciously and devilishly destroyed. Your support is a lifeline for my family and a chance for a better future for them. It is just too early for them to depart to heaven!
Please donate, reblog, and share.

me watching monsters inc as a kid: how did it take so long for anyone to figure out that human child laughter not only produced energy like screams, but was more effective, and that children aren’t actually dangerous at all?
me watching monsters inc now: monsters incorporated, a multi-billion dollar corporate giant, stood to make extra profits off a scream shortage because low supply with high demand makes it possible to charge a fortune for a necessary commodity and everyone has no choice but to pay the high prices because they can’t go without electricity. Therefore Monsters Inc, as well as any other major powers that may have existed at the start of the era of using scream energy, fabricated the idea that only screams could generate sustainable energy sources in order to create artificial scarcity, because laugh energy was far easier to obtain and far more efficient, and therefore stood to lower the value of energy due to surplus. They also fabricated the idea that human children were toxic, in order to a) make other monsters too afraid to go near them to do research and possibly discover the secret of laugh energy, and b) to make monsters so afraid of going near them that there is a shortage of scarers, making it harder for rival companies to rise up and create competition. Even in the monster world, capitalism is based on lies, greed and cruelty, and even monster companies have no qualms about using and abusing children to maximize profits.
