I think I’m going to start listening to music in languages I don’t know while doing homework, so I can’t get invested in the lyrics. Only the vibes and feelings.

It’s going to go great until I look up the lyrics in English to avoid said homework and slowly learn the languages.

I love how we never see Solo’s interactions with Crystal from any other perspective than his.

There could have been a story about one day when he was out with Crystal and someone made a comment or something that either confirmed or denied Crystal being real, but we never got anything like that.

Even when they were at the cemetery and Baby could see Solo from where she was, she said she didn’t look and I believe her. And even if she did, she never said anything about it.

I like that because it forces the story to focus on whether or not Crystal is real to Joel. No one else matters, only if she’s real to him.

And that could be a metaphor for being lgbt. Or it could be a metaphor for mental illness. For disorders. It could honestly just be like that on accident, or so it’s harder to decide if Crystal is real— for Joel and us. But I really like it.

I also like because it means Crystal might really be a ghost, cause the only confirmation is from a guy in the middle of many crises and seeing his first friend for the last time. The only thing said about it from Crystal is indirect, and stating it’s not crazy to wonder what might have been. That means nothing.(I and aware this is a bit delusional)

I will be living the rest of my life believing that Crystal is both real, and also only real to Solo. I will never chose, I like both.
