Everything is so different lion takes reds place meaning lion dies dust takes grays place and becomes fires best friend there was smithstones they craft and trade stuff with the other empires (clan) fire is now named rustflame dust and rust become mates and have kits sand takes grays place with silver im still working on it
i love the idea of the cats being able to craft things
sounds interesting so far!

Ramblings about founding and traditions and stuff:
The clans were formed over 100 years ago (from into the wild). The clans were merged from dozens of small colonies of cats under the leadership of the cats who were best suited for their job. Wind, Shadow, Thunder, and River led their groups until their deaths. The Clans were named after them.
RiverClan created the apprenticeship system. River saw that the young cats were not progressing well in their training with their parents alone, so he’d assign the cats special mentors. He shared this idea with the other Clans at a gathering, and they thought it’d do wonders for their cats.
Formal mentorship ceremonies and the -paw suffix didn’t come until a while after River was dead
RiverClan was originally a very welcoming Clan who would gladly welcome outsiders to hang around in their camp. They also had a very lax mentorship system, where an apprentice could learn from whoever they wanted. However, when the war over Sunningrocks began, they began to lose that calm nature and focused on becoming stronger. Kits were expected to show the best traits of RiverClan, which led to “ugly” kits being shunned from the Clan. The warriors’ section was divided into different dens to prevent fighting, which had started due to the stress of the war.
RiverClan‘s main problem is infighting, which is what allowed TigerClan to take over. After Tigerstar is killed, TigerClan is dismantled, and BloodClan is driven from the forest, RiverClan cats begin to reevaluate their lives. They realized how they had been putting such high expectations on their young and how it molded them into spineless cats desperate for affection.
WindClan’s tunneler and moor-runner ranks were at first a great way for cats to specialize and aid their Clan in the best way possible, but it wasn’t long until tensions rose. Leaders had to be a mediator between the tunnelers and moor-runners, as they’d argue all the time. Heatherstar merged the ranks into just warriors in hopes it’d stop the fighting, but it did no such thing. Tunnelers felt abandoned by their Clan and weren’t able to catch up with the previous moor-runners. Tallstar brought back both moor-runners and tunnelers and made sure kits weren’t pressured by their kin to become a tunneler or moor-runner. Apprentices are allowed to switch ranks whenever, as are the warriors.
Until it was made law that kits don’t become apprentices until their sixth moon, leaders made them apprentices whenever they wanted or whenever their mother wanted.
ShadowClan kits were made apprentices the youngest, as ShadowClan wanted their kits to be prepared for anything
ThunderClan and RiverClan kits were made apprentices whenever. Usually, they’d wait until the kit gained their true eye color. ThunderClan leaders would bend to the will of the queens, so that day would come sooner for some.
WindClan was the basis for the six moon age requirement. WindClan, having the most open and therefore most dangerous environment for young cats, didn’t want to send their kits to their deaths
ShadowClan originally had their apprentices survive in the northern half of the territory for a moon, but the development of the northern twolegplace prevented them from going there any longer. They chose the leadenhalf due to it’s hard-to-navigate nature, and shortened the assessment time to half a moon instead of a full one. Apprentices were taking too long to become warriors, and with rats beginning to appear ShadowClan needed all the warriors it could get.
The tradition hadn’t been lost because ShadowClan cats fear they’d upset their founder, Shadow, and would lose their night vision as a result (ShadowClan is primarily nocturnal, so this would be devastating).
ThunderClan had been having problems after the merging all throughout Thunder’s leadership. It wasn’t until Owlstar became leader that something was done about it. He decided to hold honor duels which would be held in front of him to determine who was right, and who was wrong. He soon found out this was...just a bit flawed, as the same cats would win every time, so he added more rules.
The rules of honor duels are:
No grabbing of the scruff or throat. This could lead to serious injury or death
Claws are allowed but the eyes must be avoided. Accidental clawing of the eyes will still lead to punishment, as a true warrior should know how to control themselves.
Once the leader calls for the fighting to stop it MUST stop. Cats who continue the fight have a chance of being exiled.
Rusty’s fight against Longtail was an honor duel. Longtail may have been the stronger cat, but he broke multiple rules and was generally being an ass, so Bluestar crowned Rusty as the winner.
SkyClan was lost to time after their exile from the territories not too long after their founding. They traveled far and lost many cats along the way before they found the gorge, their perfect home. Their Clan didn’t survive long, however, as twolegs established a twolegplace nearby. Cats were fearful and didn’t trust SkyClan’s way of life anymore, and began to leave the Clan until only one cat remained. This one cat passed down stories to her young, who did the same to hers, until it finally reached Skywatcher. Skywatcher, old and frail with no kits of his own, decided it was time to revive SkyClan.
Firestar and Sandstorm don’t revive SkyClan because why would they, Skywatcher can do it himself.
SkyClan has their own little StarClan because the dead SkyClan cats want nothing to do with the other dead Clans.
#enjoy my ramblings#if you notice any tense changes no you didn't look away#skyclan cats can walk on steep cliffs like goats

redesigned the lake territories
explanation of basically every place bc they’re all new (the lake territories have jack shit in terms of landmarks and important places (besides the island))
thunderclan:
training hollow - sandy hollow but with moss this time
wistful oak - a large oak tree that overlooks the lake
queens’ bramble - a large group/wall of brambles near the thunderpath by twolegplace, said to be past queens protecting thunderclan from the twolegs
crossroots - a tangle of trees by the intersection of thunderpaths (also where the entrance to the tunnels are)
abandoned twoleg nest - SUNNINGROCKS 2!!!!!
riverclan:
otter dens - there’s otters there, stay away
primrose shore - a great fishing spot by riverclan camp, named after primrosepaw, mistyfoot’s daughter
open grove - a grove where apprentices train
foxlands (sort of) - there’s foxes there, stay away
windclan:
warrenhill - there’s rabbits here, yay
trough stream - a large stream in a dip between hills
gravemoor - a section of land dedicated for burials; occasionally visited by shadowclan cats who wish to pay their respects to those lost on the great journey
pointstone - OUTLOOK ROCK 2!!!
shadowclan:
smoking pine - a tree named after its horrible scent (smells that way due to growing by the thunderpath all its life)
underceed - a tunnel that goes underneath a hill connecting the two halves of shadowclan territory. apprentices will go through the underceed when it’s time for their assessment
talon’s point - a large incline covered in rocks, named after talonpaw who perished during the great journey
apprentice’s burden - the section of territory apprentices must survive in during their warrior assessments
i added more thunderpaths because we need more cats getting hit by cars and also it makes it easy to segment up the territory. the clans being all next to each other in a circle is great and all but now thunderclan and riverclan can’t fight over pointless territory. a lot of the names for landmarks/places i came up with on the spot so when (or if) i eventually get to the lake territories they may change
#this map was hell to design#there was originally gonna be a large neighborhood near the mountains but then there wasn't enough room for the other clans#too many clans pls nerf#skyclan is NOT coming here there is no room

an idea for my rewrite’s forest territories i made using inkarnate
little explanations for the new places:
ponyfields - there’s ponies, so pony fields
hisshills - a bunch of rocky, bracken-covered hills that are frequently fought over (the sunningrocks of windclan and shadowclan)
gullywoods - trees (and sometimes a surprise)
leadenhalf - holy shit it’s dark. apprentices must survive here for half a moon to become warriors
northern twolegplace - more british people
#riverclan has no landmarks im sorry#but here's the thing: they have ponies now so therefore riverclan doesnt matter

the dark forest is a vast landscape with uniform soil and the same dead trees over and over again. sound doesn’t travel in this hell; you can’t hear anything further than a treelength away from you. the water will either cure you of your thirst or leave you parched for eternity.
if you find another cat? good luck on finding something else for them to feast on.
#cannibalism mention#the canon dark forest isnt 'this is cat hell you will suffer here until you fade' enough so#this idea was based on jayfeather not having sight when going into the df and trying to use his other senses#there's no scent and sound and the lack of change in terrain unnerves him and makes it hard for him to focus on his surroundings#it feels like he was a kit again

So i’m going through the last stages of editing for book one (wild, right? i almost can’t believe it myself) and I’ve decided that instead of posting chapter by chapter, I’m just going to put up a link to a google doc for y’all to read in one go. I’m really forgetful about posting chapters unless i queue everything beforehand, and I don’t wanna do that.
Good news is that y’all won’t have to wait for updates! :D and i’ll leave comments on as well so if y’all wanna yell into the doc itself you can~

finished a draft of the outline for into the wild and rn its the same length as into the wild which may change bc i shoved a lot of things into one chapter since i do not think
#love writing outlines dont like writing the actual thing#i dont think ill even do a prologue for into the wild bc its the exact same as the books but the prophecy is changed#but itd be weird for one book to just not have a prologue while the rest do

idk why but i really like making allegiances?
like i have 5 docs for into the wild where’s a majority of it is just the allegiances because i cannot decide what cats are alive when and whether or not i’m putting every cat there.

when i eventually start writing and manage to finish into the wild, instead of the prologue being windclan being starving, it’s going to be shadowclan driving windclan out
don’t want to give too many details because i want some aspects to stay secret so they’re cool and epic when i finally get to writing them (if that makes sense),
here’s a few of the things i will tell:
shrewclaw dies in the attack instead of in that one battle with shadowclan so a) he gets more time to apologize to tallstar and b) he gets to have development with ryestalk
the traveling rogues came back after heatherstar died and were having a good time and after windclan was banished, they stop coming back for good
(not completely related to the battle) but brokenstar had a deputy before blackfoot
some more info for into the wild:
dustpaw is tigerclaw’s apprentice
ravenpaw was redtail’s apprentice, then becomes willowpelt’s apprentice
leopardfoot exists and may mentor an apprentice later (she is also dating rosetail)
#want to keep the other deaths secret for now because i am like that#if i dont ever decide to do any proper chapters/a whole book ill throw everything at you
