ough i see i see.. nice analysis :]! i admire how you understand the characters so well. however this is the part where i blow up now. no hard feelings i promise 🔥 im pretty sure its obvious why exactly im detonating. i enjoyed hearign oyur pov though!

To add onto this,,,

Putting it very simply,

Habit to Alex relieves him from his ‘role’ to the operator. Habit sees Alex is suffering, makes a deal with the thing, evidently ‘freeing’ him. Upon this, Habit promises to be the next thing to bring hell unto Alex’s life. Alex gives Habit what nobody else could - that need for his presence, the need for his promised protection. Alex has a permanent battle in his own head between needing Habit because he looks like Evan, and needing Habit because he knows that’s the reason his mind is just a little more quiet. Habit knows Alex was important to the operator, he makes that something for himself.

For Jeff, it’s the knowing one another in every lifetime. In every iteration, Habit has been there. He’s learned Jeff every time, knows he’s the one who figures it out first every time. Jeff sees Habit as something troubled, something he can fix and bring better life into, especially because he can’t help but see his best friend through him. Habit likes Jeff for his resilience, his need to put others first and be so easy to get around his finger, and selfishly the feeling of being truly seen by somebody.

Both of them are pretty much nothing more to Habit than his prey. His things to toy with. He hunts both of them in their own different ways.

Yeah! Jeffvan was something I shipped back when I first got back into emh. Jeffbit a little bit, but the same-ish manner as Hablex. Yes I enjoy a problematic ship here and there 💔 sorry anon. Jeffbit was ANOTHER brainworm that I had for so long. To me they codepend on one another, all 4 of them (Evan, Habit, Jeff, Vin) all play a very important role with each other so it just all depends on what people prefer. I happened to prefer expanding upon Jeff when it came to that. ‘In every lifetime, I know your blade’ type thing. The way I saw it while I was watching, Jeff was the strongest and smartest of the bunch, figuring out Habit pretty quickly and easily. That plays a part in him seeing Habit as something he could ‘fix’ just to get Ev back.

The polyhybrid was for a request! ^_^

I don’t consider myself an avid shipper. I prefer taking in series/movies/games without shipping people but it’s inevitable that one or two catches my eye. 👁️ At least momentarily. And when that happens, I tend to separate the ship from the series itself LOL

i know that dw! thags not what i was saying sorry for ghe lack of. explanation there. i meant like personality wise. pre-mh is a bit more chill ish, he has his fun haha moments but most times hes focused. post-mh, well hes dead /lh but hes more serious. obviously paranoid and whatnot from ol oh pee but yeah. hope that makes sense >_<

Ohh yeah I get u. I do draw him post mh then considering what you said. Being tormented by the operator AND Habit would put him pretty stuck in that personality and behaviour. Evan brings out the better in him for sure though, when they do get the chance to be together which is . Not often after Habit comes into the picture. In my au for their relationship Alex is very uptight for the most part. He’s easy to aggravate. Develops some disorders and whatnot. All that good shit

Np! I’ll answer the other anon you sent in this post too!

I put ‘not canon’ on some of my stuff on Instagram where I’m most active for that reason. Habit or Evan and Alex have never interacted. Once. In any canon. There’s a lot of ships out there of characters who have never interacted. I like them for that reason, because I can come up with my own stuff for them, and I’ve kind of fleshed out their own au upon meeting and how their dynamic works altogether.

Fanon seems to effect how a character acts 99% of the time and when you get ships that already exist, you get people watering down characters. Hablex or Kryers tends to avoid that because of how little people do ship it. Which is another reason I like it, it’s easier to ignore the way people present a character when you don’t like it.

The reason I like them is because of how tragic they are. I don’t ship Habit and Alex because they love each other. I ship them because Alex and Evan go sweetly together, and Habit is there to torment Alex and his religion and ruin both of their psyches.

As for drawing Alex ‘post mh’ I’m not really sure what to say to that😭? I’m still learning how to draw alex and most of the time when I draw him it’s for the au I have of the ship so there’s not really an indistinguishable look to him. I love the way people draw him, if they want to draw him pre or post mh it doesn’t effect me because it’s fanart and there’s no specific time period you NEED to draw a character. People draw Evan Myers pre habit all the time. People draw Habit and call him Evan all the time. Shrugs

I could go on and on about their relationship too but talking about the ‘why’ would take so long, I’m saving to piece it all together in a comprehensible summary post for the future.
