MY COUSIN RACHEL: Have you seen it yet?
Tumblr media
Period drama features seem to be going through somewhat of a renaissance don’t you think?
Last month we had the disturbingly brilliant Lady Macbeth, and now we have this broodingly sultry adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s thriller  novel exploring feminine sexuality and manipulation via the always watchable Rachel Weisz.
And to top it off, here, you are able to see the frankly stunning costume, and production design by Dinah Collin and Alice Normington.
Why would you miss this? It’s out now!

And if that poster, Florence Pugh and that frankly stunning dress designed by our very own Holly Waddington doesn’t immediately say go watch now, here are some other words to persuade you:
‘...a brilliantly chilling subversive classic. ****’ [The Guardian]
‘...a lusty, jaw droppiingly amoral bodice ripper. *****’ [The Telegraph]
‘...Plain terrific...’ [The Spectator]
‘... deeply modern thriller borne from the 19th century, one whose traces of Hitchcock, Hardy and Haneke never obscure its huge originality.’ [The Financial Times]
So...there you have it - it’s out now, and absolutely not a film you want to miss.
OUT NOW

To put it plainly this series is poignant, painful and thought provoking. Certainly not easy viewing, but certainly a must view.  With cinematography by Ivan Strasburg, the entire series is now up on Netflix.

Kasabian have re-emerged with their new (slightly controversially named) single’s music video. Title aside, we’re certainly loving Adam Suschitzky’s cinematography here!

Billed as the feminist Game of Thrones, we can’t wait till this hits our screens, but in the meantime we’ll simply have to admire the wonder of Phoebe De Gaye’s costumes - stunning!
