<3 <3 <3 You okay? Sending hugs!
<3!! Thank you! I’m okay. Just a rough day. I went to the doctor today because I thought my ear infections weren’t getting any better and he told me that my ears are fine and it’s actually TMJ. And its just frustrating because it’s just MORE chronic, incurable pain I have to deal with. And my insurance plan is being discontinued at the end of the year and none of the plans available are really affordable for me. My premium is already over $200 (about $247 actually) a month with a sky-high deductible and it looks like for a deductible that isn’t more than I make in a year my premium might double. (I’m exaggerating but not by much) I qualify for extended medicaid except my state won’t approve the extended medicaid plan!
Money stuff just makes me so frustrated I could scream. Then trying to get an appointment with a psychiatrist so I can finally deal with this anxiety issue I have and literally none of them will call me back. I’ve called five different doctors and all of them are promising me that someone will call me and...nada.
And my brother today said that if I can’t get the last of my GUIs done, then he can’t come home for Thanksgiving so it’s like, Thanks Brother!Ivy, for the extra pressure I really don’t need.
Bah /rant over. Sorry, way way too much information.

Expect Reputation chapter five soon. I'm also working on a couple of other things. Like a dao AU where Cailan survived and a gay MacCreedy fic with my male sole survivor. After that I'll be working on At The Crossroads rewrites and the sequel to an All Souls Day Carol. Of course order of these is subject to change based on inspiration.

Also tbr for a moment but take it from someone that literally got visited by the Secret Service when i was 13 but dont fucking make assassination jokes they actually do seriously investigate those and sometimes it doesnt even matter if you “weren’t planning anything” because its still considered a crime and even if youre not charged they can do things like put you under temporary house-arrest if a major government official is visiting nearby like this is basically “making a bomb joke in an airport” territory at least

Note
can you please talk about those protections to curtail executive power I'm really, really scared and could use the reassurance thank you
THINGS A PRESIDENT CANNOT DO:
Reverse any Supreme Court decision
This includes Obergefell v. Hodges, which made same-sex marriage a constitutional right; Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt, which reaffirmed a woman’s right to choose first articulated in Roe v. Wade, another Supreme Court case. Grutter v. Bollinger, which instituted affirmative action, the entire body of Civil Rights case law, plus anything related to due process, including the right of minors to due process, your right to an attorney, Miranda rights, inadmissible evidence, etc.
(Even if Trump appoints the worst possible SC nominee, they still can’t reverse any of these decisions without a really significant case coming before the Court with new facts, and then they have to write an opinion stating how this case is different than that other case…it’s unlikely to happen.)
Write law or repeal any existing law
While traditionally, presidents have exerted influence on the legislative agenda (see, Obama’s role in advancing and promoting the Affordable Care Act) they cannot actually write or pass legislation. Bills, joint resolutions, concurrent resolutions, and simple resolutions must be introduced in the House by a Representative.
Presidents cannot strike down law. Only Congress can repeal laws, and only the Supreme Court can strike them down as unconstitutional.
Presidential influence is just that—influence.
(And if—for example—you are hated by 95% of the party you joined last week, and burned all your goddamn bridges by insulting them at various points in your campaign…..they’re unlikely to partner with you in crafting legislation.)
Make any law or declaration that infringes in any way on the rights of the states
So in the US, most of the rights are reserved to the states. You name it, it’s a state-run power. Criminal procedure and law? States. Medicare and Medicaid? States. The definition of marriage? States. Insurance, health departments, housing, unemployment benefits, public education, all these are state programs. And the president cannot infringe on those powers given to the states.
(This is why down-ticket voting is so important, because Mike Pence as governor of Indiana had 800x the power he’s going to have as VP.)
Declare war.
This one is the most complicated, because with the advent of our “conflicts” in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc. there has been a significant shift in the articulation of the war doctrine, and it is one of the least restricted of the president’s “restricted” powers. But, despite all that, a president still has no power to declare war.
Unilaterally appoint heads of administrative departments
Unilaterally make treaties with foreign nations
Essentially, while presidents have a lot of power, it’s mostly unofficial—they can’t make sweeping laws, they can’t overturn existing rights, the most they can do is refuse to enforce them (which is absolutely a threat! and a problem!) but we aren’t electing de facto royalty here.

I’m definitely not going to say that we shouldn’t care, because we should. **
But, I refuse to believe that the world is going to end. Despite the fact that I am a gay woman who lives smack dab in one of the most vehemently republican areas in the south, I am choosing to stay hopeful. I refuse to let this beat me.
Stay strong everyone. And, it’s not over until it’s over.
**edit: I saw a post where someone said that if you’re saying to stay positive you’re saying we shouldn’t care.

Everyone’s freaking out about Trump but... I can top him.
I’m from the district where Jody Hice is running unopposed.
He says that Sandy Hook happened because we don’t pray in school. Jody Hice has compared abortion to the Holocaust. He thinks women have no business outside the home. No matter what Trump has said, Hice is worse and he’s guaranteed to be elected, unless there are enough write-in votes. Which there won’t be. Again. THIS MAN is unopposed.

So a double ear infection has kinda slowed me down in my plans on becoming a functional human again, but I am persevering...as soon as my antibiotics kick in.
and yeah hey, protip for everyone out there so you don’t wind up like me:
DON’T SLEEP IN EAR BUDS. And, also, clean your earbuds with alcohol. This is probably like ‘no duh’ to anyone reading this but I didn’t even think about this being potentially dangerous, I was just desperate for some sleep and I cannot sleep without ASMR anymore. So instead I bought a pair of over-the-ear headphones that are soft and designed for sleeping for like thirteen bucks and they work great. Definitely worth the money as I’ve spent like... septuple that on going to the doctor and getting antibiotics.

Reputation - Chapter 4
(Last one! Because chapter 3 didn’t have a lot of new content, I decided to go ahead and post chapter 4)
Rating: Mature
Characters/Pairings: [Cullen Rutherford x Female Trevelyan]
Word Count: 3,454 [16,919]
Fic Summary:
Inquisitor Isobel Trevelyan is a Fallen Woman in this alternate Thedas. Disgraced at a young age and sent to live out her life in the Chantry, she never imagined that one day she'd be called upon to save the world. Her good deeds, however, are overshadowed by her reputation. Seeking to lessen the damage to the Inquisition, she has little choice but to marry. Commander Cullen Rutherford volunteers. Based on a K-Meme Prompt.
Trigger/Squick Warnings: This fic contains usage of the words ‘whore’, ‘slattern’ etc in a negative context. This piece takes place in an alternate universe where Thedas is not as sexually liberated as the one we see in game.
Bel, You’re getting married! How extraordinary. My wife - you remember Maris, of course - and I were debating just the other day if you would ever find someone willing to marry you. I guess you have and a dog lord commoner at that. How quaint! I suppose chantry life can really change a person.  It was so good of you to invite Maris and I to your wedding, we’d be delighted to attend and what a perfect way to show that I am more than willing to forgive you for your transgressions. Your nuptials are all anyone in the Marches can talk about. Our entire circle is anxiously awaiting their invitations. I do hope you aren’t going to snub anyone. You can’t be bitter forever, ‘Bel and by now its time that you let everyone see how sorry you are for your ill behavior. I can’t wait to see you and I expect a kiss from the blushing bride. Well, the bride anyway. I don’t think you have anything to blush about. ECR Elijah Reynauld, Bann of Northwatch P.S. By the way, we had a laugh over the whimsical little doodles all over the invitation. You are becoming positively barbarian in dog land, aren’t you? “Inquisitor?” she heard Cullen’s concerned voice breaking through the sudden din in her hearing. She looked up, squeezing the parchment in shaking hands as she eyed Josephine. “Did you invite Elijah?”

Reputation - Chapter Three
Rating: Mature
Characters/Pairings: [Cullen Rutherford x Female Trevelyan]
Word Count: 3,454 [13,496]
Fic Summary:
Inquisitor Isobel Trevelyan is a Fallen Woman in this alternate Thedas. “Of course he knew of her Reputation. Leliana had informed him of enough of the Inquisitor’s past for him to have a vague understanding that the woman, whom the Chantry had cast aside, had been nothing more than a girl when her fate had been decided. Perhaps it was yet another sin to his name, but it angered him, the idea that the actions of one’s youth would so determine the entire course of their life. Was there no chance for redemption? Maker, there had to be. If not even the Herald of Andraste could find redemption, then what hope would he ever have? “

So I came to a decision about Reputation
And putting it under a cut so that the people who don’t care about that fic won’t be bothered by my semi-long text post.
Remember that little Cullen/Trevelyan fic I started but haven’t been able to finish?
No, I’m not giving up on it.
I’m going to turn it into a chaptered fic. (edit: forgot the readmore! oops)
It’s gotten a lot longer than I was first anticipating. I figured I’d do 10-20k on it and be done...not 40k+. And I’m really tired of not having any of it done to show y’all, despite the fact that I do have a good piece of it written. So, I figured chapters would be a lot easier for me to handle. This way I can finish bits of it up and then pass it along for everyone to enjoy.
Because this was not originally designed as a chaptered fic, I’ve gone back and rewritten the beginning. In my initial division of stuff I’ve already written (but not edited) for this fic I have enough content for at least twelve chapters. Which I think is pretty cool and hopefully that will satisfy everyone for a while.
All of the changes are now LIVE as of this posting! Go, reread. Expect the next chapter soon as in, later today when I finish running my errands. I will be editing the stuff I have written for posting AND continuing to plug away at it. Hopefully, we can keep this overlapping.
And you might ask, ‘why am I doing this?’, well. I’ve had a lot of guilt about this project, for months now because I’m just struggling to complete it. And it’s not the prompt or anything, in case anyone thinks that, its literally just me. 2016 has sincerely been one of the toughest years of my life and having this fic over my head has just been messing with me. I’ve not answered messages on tumblr because I’ve been so messed up with anxiety and fear and it’s entirely my own doing. Doing it this way, I believe, is going to help me in the long run and help me get out from underneath this insurmountable pressure I’ve put on myself. Because I miss being the Ivy who talks to people. Many of you never even got to meet that Ivy!
I really REALLY hope that everyone will like the changes that I’ve made and the work that I’ve done on Reputation. I just ask that everyone bears with me, like I said...this has been a really rough year.
<3 Ivy
and I’m going to be reblogging this a few times (if I can remember to) , so everyone can see it.

Written as a part of @daficswap for @sharp-sparks who wanted a pirate/mermaid AU featuring their OC, Rhian Amell.
Read it below, or:  AO3
Bloomingtide 15:38, Golden
“A storm is a terrible time to develop a conscience, Captain.”
Cullen wriggled from his seated position in the rowboat, testing his bonds. The thick rope wrapped around him, pinning his arms to his side. He tried to loosen it, break free just a little but the bindings refused to budge. A clap of thunder, which resembled more of an explosion of the Maker’s wrath than any storm, sounded overhead. The rain poured mightily. Cullen was soaked to the bone. His clothes clung to him, binding him almost as bad as the rope. Worst of all, his little boat was rapidly filling with rainwater. He could feel the water pooling around his feet, tipping and pouring into his boots. He looked up at his former crew, all still perched safely on board the ship, his ship, The Sword of Mercy. She was a frigate, a beautiful vessel that had carried him and his crew faithfully across the Waking Sea. Now, he had to watch as his mutinous crew sailed her out of his reach. And Maker, it was all because he couldn’t bear to do the Chantry’s dirty work any longer.
Like most sea captains of this age, Cullen had been given a Letter of Marque from the Chantry, which gave him and his crew permission to plunder the ships of those that were not loyal. In the Waking Sea, the water that connected the nations of Ferelden and Orlais to the Free Marches, the majority of the ships they plundered belonged to the nomadic Free Mages. There were others, of course, the scant few junk ships or sloops of Dalish Elves or the mighty Dwarven ironclads smuggling lyrium, but the Chantry asked their privateers to focus on the Mage ships. When the orders told them to go to the waters off the coast of Rivain, he had been skeptical and when they turned from plundering to enslavement, Cullen’s loyalties had finally collapsed. He was loyal to the Maker, but the Chantry?
“You’re a fool, Captain,” his former first mate, Alrik, called down to him. “The Chantry’ll pay us this ship’s weight in gold for delivering these Robes to Orlais. You could have been rich, but now, you’ll die.”
“We’re not the Imperium, Alrik. We don’t enslave people!” Cullen cried over the din of the turbulent sea.
Alrik laughed bitterly. “Mages aren’t people, Captain. You had your chance. Now, give my regards to the Maker.”
“At least give me my sword, you coward.”
“Oh, I think Karras is rather enjoying your blade. Aren’t you Karras?”
The man in question, Karras, smirked. “She’s a damn fine blade.”
Alrik laughed again. “Goodbye, Cullen!”
