#tbt #throwbackthursday My first pro SLR, bought before I was a pro, but always dreaming of it. I bought this my senior year in high school in 1983, from the money I made working a 40 hour week in a window factory (probably why I barely finished high school). 5 years later, after quitting my job as a baker in a large commercial bakery in Minneapolis, I used this camera at Paisley Park (Prince's studio), as well as the '88 Presidential campaign, and the Michael Jackson Bad Tour, which led me to my escape to California in '91. Copyright David Honl. An Iraqi girl welcomes friends at the ruins of Saddam Hussein's personal theater (background) in Baghdad. Several Iraqi families, displaced after the 2003 invasion, sought shelter in the remains of Saddam Hussein's personal theater, built to entertain the former Iraqi President during his rule. The families fear that as property values in the Green Zone increase they will be forced into Baghdad's more dangerous Red Zone. Without running water or electricity, the families carry buckets of water and improvise electricity from nearby power lines.
