I’ve been working away on a fairly large Imperial Fleet for Battlefleet Gothic, the main part of which is formed of various ships from Scourge Scenics.
I picked up three Sword Nord Class Escorts, two Barracuda Class Light Cruisers, four Dauntless Claas Light Cruisers (2x with lances and 2x with torpedoes), a Banisher Class Grand Cruiser, and an Imperial Space Station.
The sculpts are great and the resin prints are so clean and sharp. I’ll definitely be ordering more ships from Scourge Scenics!
I’ve also dug out some of my old original BFG ships from cold storage and have started work on restoring them to add to my fleet.
The fleet itself is going to represent Battlefleet Agripinaa, and I’ve chosen a bone/ivory colour for the hulls with a deep crimson for the prows and details.
The background for the fleet is set in the final stages of the Gothic War, where the Agripinaa Sector was under heavy and sustained attack by the forces of Abaddon the Despoiler. As one of the Battlefleets which bore the brunt of the Despoiler’s attacks, Battlefleet Agripinaa had to call upon all available ships to defend Imperial space from the Chaos incursion. This included standard ships of the line, reserve squadrons, ships which were in the process of being decommissioned, and even the commandeering of a number of ships normally under the control of Rogue Traders.
As such, Battlefleet Agripinaa gathered together a highly eclectic mix of ship classes, designs, and ages to stave off the Chaos invasion.
I figured this would be a cool little narrative to represent the mixture of ships in my fleet, and will allow me to add some more rare and exotic ships going forward.
I’ll keep posting updates as the project progresses!
Happy Hobbying!
Dave

I picked up a copy of Wargames Illustrated recently which included a free sprue of Epic Celt Warriors at 15mm scale. They are really cool, lots of detail on them and a fun little change for me considering almost all of my hobby projects are 28-32mm.
The sprue included a variety of infantry stands, some skirmishers, cavalry, a chariot, and various commanders/leaders. I managed to prime them all and have started painting them too, my plan is to work on them alongside other things (if I’m waiting for a wash to dry on something for example, I’ll pick these up and chip away at them).
The little chariot was too cool though, so I got that completed along with the horses to pull it. Just need to work on the riders now.
Happy Hobbying!

It’s been a hot minute since I posted any hobby updates of my own here, but I have been chipping away at a few things.
Progress is slow but every little bit counts!
I finished this Great Cannon and crew for my Talabheim Empire army a few months ago.
Really pleased with how it looks and it allowed me to play around with colour placement for the red and white uniforms of the crew.
There are a few more war machines planned for this army including a Hellblaster Volley Gun and a mighty War Wagon, they are waiting patiently in their boxes for the moment.
Happy Hobbying!

Beautiful sir! There’s nothing better than a Vindicator in IV Legion colours, they go together perfectly

So, my lazy idea of using Mechanicus Standard Grey from the can absolutely payed off! 👌🏼
That's absolutely what I had in my mind when redoing my scheme and I'm really happy!! 🫶🏼

These are stunning, awesome job buddy! Always nice seeing more Ratmen joining the Clans 🐀

Hey guys,
So I’ve been working on my Skaven army for quite some time now. I’m not really a fast painter and I tend to get distracted from projects quite easily, hence why it’s taking so long!
I’m working on a 750pts army for a Doubles Tournament coming somewhere in early 2011. I’ll be playing with a Nurgle themed WoC army to accompany me.
This is my progress so far, currently I’m working on the final 10 Clanrats for this unit. After this I’ve got plenty of Skavenslaves to paint, 2x 30 Skavenslaves to be precise..
That’s it for now, hope you like them!

Dn that’s looking awesome already! Is that some pre-shading with the airbrush? Those hazard stripes are so sharp as well!

Cost me some nerves to get here 😮💨

This behemoth looks so much more imposing without the shoulder pads! Can’t wait to see how you paint him up mate 🙌
Man, idk how to base the Lads.. 🫠
Also, @rabidchilde, here's what the Saturnines look without the big shoulders and all made up. Like you I somehow can't really warm up to the look so I decided against them 👌🏼

Beautiful work buddy! Those colours are spectacular on the body! And the base is amazing too 👏👏👏

Completed my Merwyrm for my fledgling Sea Guard Garrison army for The Old World. I fell in love with this sculpt ages ago and was pretty disappointed that I missed the boat on picking it up back before 8th ed WHFB died. Needless to say, I was pretty thrilled when GW bought it back for TOW.

This is superb! Lovely work @maniakminis 👏👏

Hab units were once built into the mountains of Necromunda to oversee the excavation of valuable metals. Many millennia later, few of these rusting buildings still stand, the ore has long since been dug up.
Still, prospective miners return to these old dig sites in hopes of finding their fortune!

It’s not a full unit, but it’s a start!
I finished eleven Empire State Troopers for my Grand Army of Talabheim this weekend.
I’m hoping to get some proper photos of them this week. They took far longer to paint than I’d hoped, but I’m pleased with how they look!
I’m gonna switch between a few different units and projects going forward, just to keep things interesting as I found painting eleven of the same miniature was becoming somewhat tedious.
Happy Hobbying!

Spectacular dude! Loving that helmet. Bonus appreciation for the nice big bust and the bust plug. Bravo 👏👏👏
And on today's menu: a bust. A nice, big, bust. On a side note - the bust plug makes for a great handle.
You're welcome.

Big Bill and Harry Hornblower WIP.
Big Bill and Harry Hornblower are an unlikely duo. They formed a fast friendship and can now be found among the Handgunner Corps of the Talabheim State Army, having been adopted as impromptu mascots by the troops.
Big Bill earned his name in reference to the eye-watering financial cost of cleanup operations which are often required after he fires his handgun, which is actually a modified light cannon.
Harry meanwhile rallies the troops with enthusiastic blasts of his horn, providing some much-needed cheer and humour to the battlefield.
……………………………
These two will be used as a fun little unit filler for my Empire Handgunner regiment, and can also double as a command group comprising standard bearer and musician if needed. Big Bill’s banner pole was taken from some Oathmark Dwarf Infantry spares, and the banner itself was cut and shaped from some thin plasticard with little greenstuff tassles added for some more detail.
Harry will be recognisable to veteran Warhammer fans as the musician from the classic Lumpin Croops Fighting Cocks Halfling mercenaries back in the heady days of WFB 5th & 6th Edition.
Really love how these two are progressing, looking forward to getting some paint on them.
Happy Hobbying.

Got a nice little hour of painting this afternoon accompanied by some good coffee.
I finally got the second stage of highlights finished on the red uniforms of my Empire Spearmen and made a start on the final extreme edge highlights. Once the red is done, I’ll move onto the white sections and then it’s just the shields to go!
Slow and steady is definitely the theme of my hobby output these days, and there isn’t much to actually show in terms of progress but I am still chipping away at the Empire project!
Hopefully I’ll have some completed miniatures to show off soon.
Happy Hobbying

Made some good progress tonight on the first batch of Talabheim Spearmen.
I managed to get all of the skin tones, leather straps, shoes and hats done to a finish. I also got all of the armour shaded and made a start on highlighting it.
Tomorrow I’ll hopefully get the armour finished and move onto the spear hafts.
I’ve also looked out some shields and am planning to try out a couple of test schemes for them.
Then it’s onto the red and white clothing to finish them all off!
Happy Hobbying

These new Wizards for the Empire Of Man in Warhammer The Old World are just amazing!
Definitely keen to get one of each for my Talabheim army.
I’m really looking forward to the Empire faction release, there are so many miniatures returning that I wanted to collect back when I started the hobby around the end of WFB 5th Edition but never got round to buying.
The War Wagon is top of that pile!
