I did my best today. It was really hard and I got really sad along the way. I still feel a bit sad now. But I did my very best and that’s what counts. (-Bunny)
So if all you did today was your best, I’m proud of you. If today your best was taking on something big and scary, I’m proud of you. If today your best was just getting out of bed, I’m proud of you. Whatever your best was to give today, if you tried your best, then you did well. If your best was lots, you did will. If your best was just a little, you still did well. Because you tried and that’s what counts.
You are good and I’m proud of you. I’m proud of you for whatever it is you’ve done. Even the tiniest shuffle forwards is still closer to the goal. Even resting where you are can give you energy and perspective. And even if you went back, take a look around and see where you are, and remember what it was like when you moved forward before, and know that you can do it again. Even if you have to stay for a long time to get that energy, know you can make it.
You are loved. I love you. I’m proud of you. I believe in you, and I’ll be here, and other people will be with you, every small step you take, every day you try your best, we will be proud of you.

tips to caring for littles who suffer from:
emotional dysregulation, hyper empathy,
and harsh moodswings !!

• develop grounding techniques to bring your little back to earth when they spiral. (breathing exercises, hand squeezing, observation games, etc.)
• remind them that what they're feeling is only big right now, and will pass.
• offer reassurance and spend time with them. Do not get angry if your little is easily upset or agitated.
• if the source of the moodswing or dysregulation is removable, try to get your little or the cause away from the other.
• find distractions to help your baby cope. (tv, games, toys, coloring, etc.)
• offer to talk with them about their big feelings and / or listen.
• if they're comfortable with it, take over bigger tasks and set down rules to prevent harm. (Ex: earlier bedtimes, no exceptions.)
• show love towards your little, and communicate your feelings aswell.
• encourage your little to be open about their moodswings the moment they have them. Preventing further damage or fear for both parties.
• if your little is experiencing hyper empathy towards another party, assure them they're a good person for feeling on the other's behalf, but remind them that they're their own person.
• if your little is neglecting themselves for others, step in and stop them from doing so if safe.
As someone who experiences big emotions very quickly, and has symptoms of hyper empathy as well as bpd. I have a hard time distinguishing my emotions, I hope this post helps others like me ^^ feel free to add your own tips on!

I’m small! Baby!
I’m having tasty pasta for dinner tonight! And then after pasta I get a super tasty caramel shortbread chocolate biscuit! It’s gonna be soooooooo yummy!
And after tea I’m gonna do some drawing! And then I’ll take my doggie out for a walk before bedtime, and then I’m gonna read my new book! And then it’ll be sleepy time.
But but but! I gotta wash my face and brush my teeth and use the toilet and have a hug too so I can be a jimmer jammer! I saw that video and I liked it :) the song is fun.
It’s been a long day but it’s gonna be okay. Even if it felt scary and big for a while, James was really nice to me and helped me feel better!

I did some things I didn’t really wanna do today. I went swimming and I did some schoolwork.
But then I got to play afterwards! I played minecraft with my brother and now I’m gonna have a tasty dinner and then I’m gonna watch a good tv show! And my doggie is sat with me :) so I think it’s all turned out okay even if it was tricky.

I’ve got a message for everyone! It’s important!
Are you ready? Cus it’s a big one!
You DONT have to push yourself past your limits. You know your limits, and you have them for a reason! It’s okay to not do extra for other people if it’s too much!
If it would hurt your mind or your body or your feelings, then you gotta say, “Im sorry but it’s too much!” Then you can take a break and do it later, or not do it at all!
If you have an ouchie for a little while, look after it! Don’t do things that it’ll make it ouchie again! If you have an ouchie for a long time, you know what you can manage! Use whatever tools you need to feel your best, and do what you can manage, but never push yourself because someone else says you gotta. It’s your body, you know it!
If you get real sad or your brain gets all frizzy, over something little or something big, you know yourself! You gotta take a BIIIIIIIG breath and say “I need some space. This I say limit, and I’m not going past it.”
Because respecting your limits is respecting yourself! And everyone needs to respect themselves, because princesses and princes, pirates and knights, adults, kiddos and animals all need to remember that one way to show yourself just how much you love you and just how much you’re worth is to respect yourself.
