All I did today was fall over! I was hammering weaving because there was basically no one at practice and I gotta pass it. In our league you have to demonstrate the skill 3 times to get signed off. So I got it ONCE in under 6 seconds and couldn't do it again. I'm hoping fresh legs on Wednesday means I nail 2 & 3 and get ticked off. It's so weird how people reference things you've never done to get you to understand the movement. "It's like skiing." Only helpful if I've got that memory to reference! I think I've gotten the technique down though, just need to shave .07 of a second off my usual time!
I got 20 laps in my 27/5 which is a new PB! I was in a lot of foot pain all session though which was grim. The team has really been through the mill recently and a lot of our old guard have left to join another, bigger and more successful, local team. Which is fair enough for them but by god have we got a lot on trying to keep everything running. It's starting to feel like things are getting better and we're getting closer to being the team we want to be so I feel happy. Next week, 21 laps!
Practicing my T Stops. What's with the chicken arms?
As you can tell - I get people to film me as often as they are willing to because then I can see what I did wrong. I鈥檝e got a video of my very very first skate that I watch whenever I wanna remind myself that however bad I am now, I鈥檓 not THAT bad :D
Hi I'm Shannon aka Daddy Wrong Legs - I've been skating nearly two years. I'm (hopefully) going to pass mins very soon. I train with a gender inclusive team on the Wirral called Riverside Rebels. I usually LUM but I may actually play one day.
