DANGEROUS SYMPTOMS
CAUSED BY EATING DISORDERS
Liver – white nail beds – nausea – itchy skin – swollen abdomen – yellowing skin/eyes – fatigue – confusion – pale / clay-like / bloody / tar-like stool – vomiting – pain in the upper, righthand abdomen – joint pain – spider angiomas (coloured skin spots that resemble spiders, due to clotting issues) – dark urine – swollen legs / ankles – bruising easily
Heart 
– tachycardia (fast resting heart rate, over 100 beats per minute) – bradycardia (slow resting heart rate, under 60 beats per minute) * note that a very high fitness level can cause a lower heart rate – irregular heart rate – if your heart rate is under 40, you could be in immediate danger, and remember that your heart rate will drop even further in sleep – shortness of breath / shallow breathing – chest pains – fatigue – dizziness – swelling in ankles / feet / legs – swollen abdomen – choking sensation – coughing up pink liquid / goop – unable to concentrate – sudden weight gain – fainting – palpitations – feeling your own heart – hearing your own heart – chest / arm / sternum pain – anxiety – sweating – vomiting – lack of energy – coughing up white
Kidneys
– vomiting / general nausea
– changed sleeping patterns / problems sleeping
– fatigue
– swelling of ankles / legs / feet / just general swelling
– hypertension (high blood pressure)
– shortness of breath
– itchiness
– chest pain
– metallic taste in mouth
– muscle cramps
– hyperkalemia (high levels of potassium)
– stiff joints
– less urinating than usual
– bloody / dark / foam-like urine
– confusion / mental fuzziness
– rashes
– leg pains
Osteoporosis (severe bone weakness)
– back pain
– bad posture
– weak bones (weak grip / bones fracture easily)
– receding gums and bone loss in jaw
– general pains in muscles or even bone
– dropping fitness levels
Cathartic colon (from laxative use)
– bloating
– abdominal pain
– chronic constipation
– intense feelings of fullness
– incomplete bowl movement / ‘fecal evacuation’
Hypokalemia (low potassium levels)
– weakness in limbs, especially the sort that causes numbness or cramping
– nausea
– vomiting
– bloating
– abdominal pain
– low blood pressure
– fainting
– physical numbness
– emotional changes
– palpitations
– excessive urination
– constant thirst
Other common side-effects of EDs
– muscle spasms, weakness or twitching (electrolyte imbalance– very common in bulimia, and can be very dangerous)
– anemia
– irregular menstrual cycles / infertility in women
– low blood sugar
– depression and other mood disorders may develop / worsen
– insomnia
– eye damage and diminishing vision
STAY SAFE. A COUPLE OF SYMPTOMS MAY NOT BE LIFE-THREATENING, BUT HAVING MULTIPLE FROM THE SAME ORGAN CAN BE.

i’m sure you’ve all seen those thinspo posts that are like “once you stop eating you’ll have more time for HOBBIES like drawing, reading or painting ur nails!!!!”
i’m giving you a heads up now: this is a fucking lie.
when you restrict you are going to have zero fucking energy. you will not be able to bring yourself to hold up a pencil or a book. you will spend all your time either sleeping or kept up with your head constantly spinning with numbers. your weight, calories, minutes on the elliptical. you’ll get so obsessed that even when you’re running on fumes, that is what your mind focuses on.
do yourself a favour and nourish your body so you can actually devote yourself to what you love. otherwise this disorder will be your only hobby.

some more unpopular ed opinions (ill make u mad lmao)
- If you have a "ana buddy" and they choose to recover you have to fucking respect that, it is so rude and disgusting to shame or attack them for wanting to get their life together.
- I have accepted the fact that even if I hit my ugw I will still not be happy with my appearance.
- STOP TELLING PEOPLE WHAT NOT TO EAT. For example the myth that "oAtS wIlL sTiCK tO yOu!1!!1 tHeY mAke yOu fAT!1!1" is so stupid and untrue stop adding to peoples mental illness. (btw i had oats every morning for the past 5 days and I have been down 6 lbs)
- You are not relatable or quirky if you choose cigarettes and coke zero instead of food.
- Binge eating disorder and food addiction is just as vaild as anorexia and bullmia.
- When you hit your ugw it will not be cute and aesthetic as you put on your little celebration dress. stop saying that in reality the counting wont stop and you will either die or live a miserable life.
- Stop posting "fat" people next to thinspo and saying "which one?" that is beyond disrespectful.
- me using social media as a source to vent out my thoughts and mental health is not always about attention, it is about having a safe place.
- stop giving deadly advice and saying "stay safe"
- this isn't unpopular buttt making memes about eds or any mental illness is not about making it funny, its a coping mechanism.
- STOP PUTTING YOUR THINSPO IN THE RECOVERY TAG YOU DUMB ASS BITCH.
- lastly laxatives dont make you lose weight they just fuck up your stomach and get rid of water. ( im 1 month clean fron laxatives ✨)
Im currently looking through my blog and deleting any toxic post that cross the line because I understand now that they are just romantizing eds. Like i have said before this is a blog i use to cope not to encourage.
