I think Cody ships are very cute and silly but I can't really bring myself to ship him with anyone romantically which is not fully due to headcanon but partially because I see him as aroace spec and a transmasc person who tries very hard to be liked and seen as cool leading him to have "crushes" like with Gwen when it's more of a platonic admiration that he hangs on to which is why he asks Gwen out multiple times throughout the seasons while not really caring about actually getting into any of those relationships. I think the way the fandom portrays Cody in romantic settings has also really made me detest some ships but that is not what this is Abt rn !

Duncan and Trent had so much more potential than just "the guys dumped by Gwen," realistically they would have been friends afterwards, at the very least, considering their similarities. Trent's father tries to force Trent to go down the same path he did, becoming an accountant (?) I think, which Trent runs away from to pursue his own goals, but partially to rebel. Trent does things with a goal in mind. Duncan similarly rebels against his family, although much more severely, (which I believe is due to awful parenting and internalized transphobia but we aren't going there) he too is running away from a path forced upon him, even if his reasoning is less thought out than Trent's. Gwen dumped them when they stopped fitting into her ideal view, which I actually think makes a lot of sense when you see her interactions with Courtney. I headcanon her as aroace or a lesbian or both, (I don't really have set in stone headcanons for any of the characters) because it's always felt like she loved the idea of a guy, yet it never lasted because she lost that spark. Gwen often has this issue or not completely understanding herself, and wanting to be perceived some sort of way. She tries to be perceived as a good person throughout TDAS despite being flawed in many ways. She is a good person, but she's unaware of her selfishness. I think the same would go for her sexuality and wanting to conform and be perceived as straight, when she spends literally the entire season ignoring Duncan and trying to win back Courtney and when Duncan pays attention to Courtney she dumps him (deserved I hate that guy). And with Duncan.... There's a reason he's extremely compatible to ship with a lot of his male best friends. Many of the times where he actually shows his sweeter side is with them, while he spends most of his time with women trying to impress them with his bad boy attitude. Again, I think this hyper masculinity is obviously used to hide being AFAB as I headcanon him as a trans man. Trent is someone who is unapologetically himself and used to being liked for that, and a generally emotional person, so when he's disliked I think he can get anxious and stressed like we see in action. Duncan is someone who pretends to not care about almost anything and tries to present himself in a specific way. I think this sort of difference would make them kind of envious of each other, especially Duncan, but I see them becoming friends would talk and smoke with each other. Because they're both artists I think it would be really funny if they're like yea he's just a guy I hang out with sometimes and proceed to accidentally make every artistic piece about the other while simultaneously being like I don't like him like that ok?
