mEYEles
We are the Grade 12 – STEM B students of Rizal High School and we are assigned to make a blog about media and information literacy. Our group is composed of media users such us editors and researchers, and we as one believe that media is a very useful source or material to gather information and cope for updates. Our group name is related to our logo if you read mEyEles backwards, “ les” from the French word, which means “ the”. The middle word (EYE) represents the owl and eagles watching every event in our world. “m” represents the media that carries data and information. “mEYEles” is pronounce as “miles”, meaning media carry and travel miles and miles per second that makes every users updated. owl) and the earth. Owl represents the eye of the world which is media and owl is a nocturnal bird, because media, not only daytime but also updates during night. The two eagles represent the direction of earth (north, south, east and west) and how fast media spread news and information to the world. GROUP MOTTO “ Our struggles are the development we need for tomorrow.” This means that anything that hinders us will only make us stronger and that strength will help us fulfill our dreams, or simply means that when we fell we should start to crawl, stand and continue to walk forward and keep life moving in balance.

What is MIL for us?
Media and information literacy is the knowledge we need to acquire to be media literate. Media helps us to be inform and gather data as well as applying it to our community and society. It is mostly use for communication, updates, and entertainment. Media is important to be use by students especially in making data presentations, document file, photography, video clips and films. Media helps to improve grammar use and accuracy of analyzing data. By simply reading, watching, and hearing media can be functional. To be media literate, there are programs conducted by the government for the community use especially on events.
