It’s time to show some PRIDE everyone!

This year Leylines for Life and Warcraft LGBTQ+ shall be fundraising for Black Lives Matter. In the words of Marsha P. Johnson, “There can be no pride for some of us without liberation for all of us.” It is important to show solidarity with all members of the LGBTQ+ community and speak out in the face of injustice - so this pride with many parades cancelled due to the Covid 19 epidemic we are bringing Pride and a chance to make a change to you!

Last year we raised over $1,000.00 for the Rainbow Railroad and fought homophobia and transphobia across the globe. This year we fight racism! Our first event will be “speed dating” tomorrow (Wednesday the 3rd) at 5 PM WRA in the Dalaran Portrait room!

At the current moment, the Convocation of Quel’thalas has collected 115 submissions for our daily lore questionnaire! With the blood elves and void elves to go, we are welcoming all elves to our discord to participate in our raffle. Not only are there cool prizes for just saying what you love about elf lore, but also recognition for your character’s efforts in compiling elven history and a phoenix hatchling for you to use in RP!

Plushy Initiative

War can not be the objective for the military of Quel’Thalas. Their objective must be the safety and security of Quel’Thalas, and this must be pursued through all possible means. In this light, The Dawnfury Concordant, has elected to take responsibility for a means less typical of the military regiment.

The Plushy Initiative is a free program sponsored by The Dawnfury Concordant in which stuffed figurines of different famous people will be given out for free at public events. These figurines are constructed a durable cloth material, filled with fine cotton stuffing, and enchanted with three voice recordings, by the individual, that will be spoken at random when squeezed.

World’s Faire Carnival - Volunteers Needed

(The World’s Faire Carnival is a week-long, neutral spring extravaganza of the best things Azeroth has to offer. Built off of the splendid Carnival of the Sun and inspired by the Tournament of Ages, we aim to provide a fun event for a good cause: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a charity which helps children diagnosed with cancer and leukemia.

This is a HUGE project, and absolutely everyone is welcome to help. To make this event spectacular, we will need a large number of people to join our Faire Team to hosts events, referee, oversee, and other duties, and even a few Coordinators for various activities.

We will have a number of meetings leading up to the faire.

The Final Week of Pride Month

This is the LAST WEEK of Pride Month upon us and it’s a full schedule! There are events EVERY SINGLE DAY for this last week, staring up tomorrow. All times below are Pacific Standard Time (PST).

As always, don’t forget about the month-long raffle with winners announced at the closing ceremonies on June 30. There’s a wide variety of prizes available, including gold, a mount, and art pieces! Tickets are 500g each, or you can get 11 tickets for 5000g

On Monday, you know it, you love it - the last Speed Dating event for the month! As always, in the portrait room in Dalaran at 6pm!

On Tuesday, a play, “Starbound” will be performed at 7pm over at Seradane in the Hinterlands. I have the utmost assurances that it is gay as all hell.

On Wednesday, starting at 5pm is the Sha'tari Bazaar over in Shattrath city, a special version of the event focusing on Pride month.

On Thursday, the Azeroth Peace Council is holding their monthly Soup Kitchen starting at 5pm, again focused on Pride month. It will be in Ratchet, so come and get something to eat.

On Friday, starting at 9am, I will be doing a marathon Twitch stream for charity and to kick off the Leylines for Life event over on https://www.twitch.tv/magicalclararose! I will be creating a new WoW character and leveling as high as I can get. The chat will get to choose almost everything, including race and class, which zones I quest through, and all of that! It all benefits the Rainbow Railroad charity, which helps LGBTQ+ people trapped in countries that have state-sponsored terror agaisnt them to get out of those countries. On Saturday and Sunday, the Leylines for Life event happens in earnest. Again focused on raising charity funds for the Rainbow Railroad, it’s a show of solidarity to end off the month. On Leylines for Life;

Many members of our LGBT+ community here in the United States and Canada suffer from discrimination - but when looking into other countries such as Russia and most recently Brunei we know there are others who need help as well. Pride is a time to be proud, proud that we are still here, proud of the community we have built in the very face of homophobic resistance - but it is also a time to help those of us who are less fortunate to escape hardship as well. Leylines for Life will be a charity fundraiser where all proceeds will go towards The Rainbow Railroad ( https://www.rainbowrailroad.com/ ). The Rainbow Railroad is a charitable organization which specializes in helping LGBT+ individuals escape dangerous living situations by securing for them information, funding, and travel connections. A donation to The Rainbow Railroad is the gift of life for a LGBT+ person suffering persecution. This event is not officially partnered with The Rainbow Railroad, but all proceeds will be going towards The Rainbow Railroad. The Event will be held on the 28th, 29th, and 30th of June over the MMORPG ‘World of Warcraft.’ We are also not officially paired with Blizzard Entertainment, or ACTIVISION, but are using the game as a platform where Roleplayers congregate. The event will be cross faction and cross realm (Alliance and Horde, as well as Mooonguard and Wyrmrest Accord), so remember to bring your potions of tongues as well Cross RP! There will be no trolling or pvp accepted at this event. Make sure to come on down and join our Discord if you wish to participate in the contests!

Project: Memories

When war’s wage, the world changes…

People are changed, hardened and burdened. Lands are changed, destroyed and foreign. Even after the war ends, before another begins, we never truly stop being at war. Our minds and bodies are forever living in the past, forced to be pushed to move on day to day. We remember, we move on or we forget and we forever remain stuck in the past.

Lands such as Lordaeron and Quel’Thalas were forever changed when the fallen Prince Arthas Menethil razed our lands and destroyed our people. We lost our livelihood and for a long time, our hope. Though we fought hard to avenge our fallen and we did so successfully, we never truly got past the horrors we saw, faced, endured.

Even in times of war, where once more we fight each other, we still look back and remember those who were lost previously. We are all watching history repeat itself in the same lifetime. Let us not forget that we which we survived in our past, so we may not make the same mistakes again.

The purpose of Project: Memories is to bring together shared stories and art of the various accounts of those who have survived through Prince Arthas’ razing through Lordaeron and Quel’Thalas. For Lordaeronian Humans, Forsaken, and the Thalassian Elves who survived and avenged their fallen brethren or were forced into undeath at the Prince’s hand, we share our stories for you.

We are opening this project to all US Role Play realms who wish to take part . This is opt-in and the book and its content are not required to be seen as an item if one does not wish. We do not condone forcing that which another wishes to not recognize in RP.

This is meant simply as a fun project for the various RPers to gather stories in one place for in character purposes. There will be In Character Racial representatives for the Humans, Elves, and Forsaken to keep the races and factions separated save for the mods who are hosting the project. This means it is unlikely you or your character will meet the moderator’s characters on an IC basis. Your character is given a place to send the letter via Phoenix, Raven, or another way, and it will be picked up or delivered where the intended host desires. This will help prevent any issues that could possibly come about and keep this project easy going.

F.A.Q.

How will this be produced?

It will be in PDF format. Further details on production will come at a later date.

What page size do we use if we’re an artist?

Use dimensions 8"x11" for artwork being submitted. This is going to be a regular book so it will have to fit into it properly.

How many pages should my writing be?

3 pages are preferred, however, we ask you do not go above 5 pages. This will be a large PDF and depending on submissions it may be more than one volume. We’d like to limit that so if you can fit your story in under 5 pages that would be perfect.

How many stories artworks can we submit?

1 story or art piece per character. You can write for all your characters or just one, but only one story or art piece for each one.

Are comics allowed?

Absolutely. We ask you to keep it to no more than 4 pages for the comic.

Will this be a GHI or TRP3 made item?

Absolutely not. This is going to be far too big of a PDF to bother turning it into an in game item. As great as that would be, you’ll have to continue using your imagination with this.

How do we write this?

This is an in-character book, so write the story as if your character was writing it.

Can we commission art for this?

If you’re wishing to add commissioned art that you did not draw, you need written consent from the artist for us to see that it is allowed in the final PDF.

What font do we use?

Stick with basic Times New Roman, 12 PT, single line. It’s easy to read and format.

What format do we submit the writing in?

Google doc links work just fine and are preferred. Please make sure to have the link viewable.

When is the deadline for submissions?

Presently, there is not one. We will be running this for at least half of 2019 so there is plenty of time to write and do your artwork for one or all of your characters.
