I need to let this out!
The parallels and tragedy between FengLian and JunMei always make my heart ache.
Both Feng Xin and Mei Nianqing stayed behind with their prince and bestfriend even when others left.
They didn't want to abandon their bestfriend.
People blame Feng Xin for idolising Xie Lian too much and giving him hard time for his crashout, but people forget he himself was a kid too. He was crashing out too. He was witnessing his bestfriend go through immense pain and he didn't know what to do. He wanted to protect Xie Lian even it was from Xie Lian himself, and blamed himself when he was unable to do so. Feng Xin has always been emotionally straightforward. It was difficult for him to adjust to Xie Lian's behaviourial changes (which were very apt). Changes are hard and it becomes even harder when someone you knew all your life is changing. Feng Xin is loyal to a fault, no doubt he would have supported Xie Lian in the future even if Xie Lian walked down the wrong path. He just needed time to adjust. Both of them were kids, they both needed time and space to come around each other again. But, time and space is what they didn't have. Xie Lian feared being the bearer of Feng Xin's possible future resentment. He didn't want his bestfriend to hate and blame him so he did what he thought was the best... Push him away and Feng Xin's loyalty forced him to oblige to Xie Lian's wishes even though he knew it was a wrong decision. Broken friendships hurt worse than breakup.
JunMei experienced what Xie Lian feared would have become of him and Feng Xin. Mei Nianqing stayed behind to witness his bestfriend's real downfall. He witnessed their friendship being torn apart by betrayal and resentment. Jun Wu in the end betrayed the one person who stuck with him. Why do you think Jun Wu let Mei Nianqing live even after all those years. I know he is horrendous and had lost all his sense and reason, but tell me deep down he didn't grieve and regret his actions just like Mei Nianqing regretted abandoning him? Mei Nianqing just like Feng Xin would have also followed Jun Wu to the bitter end, if he was unable to protect him from himself and the world... But what he needed was time to grasp the situation. They direly needed the time they didn't have. Maybe both of them throughout their long lives were stuck on the "Maybe and what could have been"...
Thanks for going through my yappology session ๐Ÿ™

Can anyone suggest a few nick name for Su Xiyan to call Tianlang Jun. I need it for a fic. I don't think she would be addressing him as Tianlang Jun or Junshang after they got into a relationship.
Better if you could provide the chinese characters and meaning for the nickname.

Do you think Lan Wanji ever fantasizes about being fucked (like nasty fucked) by his cute husband's former super hot, hunky form??

Wei Wuxian was Lan Zhan's freedom.
Xie Lian was Hua Cheng's reason to live.
Shen Yuan was the spark to Binghe's mommy issues.

Mdzs written from Meng Yao's perspective instead of Wei Ying's and Lan Xichen as the ML instead of Wanji...
In short, after Meng Yao's crimes are brought into public light Lan Xichen turns against the cultivation world for his love, just like Wanji.
How popular of a danmei would it be?
And how beloved of a MC would Meng Yao be? (I know it depends on the writing style and how much sympathy/ empathy the author can evoke in the readers... But still...)
Also would appreciate BL recommendation with similar kind of aforementioned dynamic.

This but Mei Nianqing is looking at current Jun Wu and then suddenly seeing a glimpse of his old childhood friend and beloved Prince...

Qi Rong and Hua Cheng represent the opposite sides of the same coin.
Both were raised in abusive environments, are cunning, brash, ruthless, uncaring, vindictive, obsessive and unloved.
Also, both ended up sacrificing themselves to protect the person they loved.
What distinguishes them is that one is the example of obsession gone right and the other represents obsession gone wrong.
One found his purpose early on in life while the other roamed purpose-less for centuries, committing atrocities to fill the void and chasing power to feel validated.
What do you mean by 'a purpose-less Honger would have become another Qi Rong' ?
Qi Rong and Hua Cheng are each other's "what could have been".

For most people isekai genre is like the projection of losers because maximum isekai follow the similar plotline of the MC dieing and becoming the most powerful being of a fantasy world with all the hot women of that world begging at the MC's feet. Moreover, the sheer amount of fan-service in many popular isekai anime has lead to the downfall of the genre as a whole in the eyes of most people.
To summarise, for most people isekai is equivalent to an overpowered MC, cringe harem trope and fan-service.
However, I am not most people because when I think of isekai the things that come to my mind are โ€œDumbfuck author, dumbfuck novel!โ€, bros, gays, period cramps, losers and more losers.

In the tgcf universe we see that Gods use "merits", humans use "money" and Ghosts use "ghost money".
I want to know how the currency exchange is performed in the universe. Is it kind of similar to the currency conversion system we have in the modern universe?
Ling Wen looks after the currency exchange in the Heavens... Who does it in the Ghost realm?... Is it Yin Yu?
Which form of currency has the highest valuation and does the value go up and down?
When the patrons (humans more specifically) visit Gambler's den, do they need to convert "human money" to "ghost money" before they enter the ghost realm?
Do you think after the Gods had to take loan from Hua Cheng to rebuild the Heavens, the value of "Ghost Money" shot up tremendously while the value of "Merits" fell drastically?
I'm sorry... It's just the economics student in me!!!!

Nobody talks about Tianlang Jun's tragedy.
Can you imagine being trapped under a mountain for almost 2 decades while having nobody except your nephew to talk to...
Spending all those years, isolated and rotting, seething in anger and betrayal.
Hating and blaming your lover for so many years only to later find out that she loved you dearly and never actually betrayed you... that she sacrificed herself trying to protect you and your child.
Being hated by your own child and being trapped in a disfunctional body without any proper cure.
Then in the end losing the only stability you had through all those years of turbulence...
Can you imagine losing your nephew who was also like your first child, your general and sole confidant, all because he was an idiot who took all the blunt blow to shield you from harm!?
The survivor guilt must be terrible for him.
It's ironic how a man who loved cheesy romance, never was able to experience a cheesy romance himself and ended up as a tragedy.
He had every right to turn into a villain โ€” a villain much powerful and ruthless than Binghe.
Let's not even consider talking about the fate of PIDW timeline Tianglan Jun.
He neither got a closure about his lover's betrayal nor was able to meet his son. Nobody is even aware what happened to him at the end.
I really hope he and Binghe made up in the future so that he can atleast cherish the last bit Su Xiyan that is left.
