I have seen a couple posts floating around lately that make me want to gently remind people:

Tumblr has a block/ filter tags option!

I mention bc I have told a couple newer people before and they had no idea!

I very much understand being frustrated that you see things you do not like in your fandom tags. I understand lots of people do not like x reader stuff or fics or all that. Most people will tag there stuff "x reader" or "wh40k fic" (and if you don't, please do!)

So if you don't like seeing fics or fluff or reader insert, that's totally allowed! Tumblr is made to handle that! Please block the tags you dont want, or even creators you dont like!

You can even filter someones username so they arent blocked but are filtered on your dash too. You can curate what you want to see on tumblr it's made to do that. If someone makes things you dont like and dont tag, you can politely ask them to do that and 99% of the time they will go oh sure of course, and you can then block that tag and be free of it.

Tumblr is a place were many parts of fandom intermingle, but its made to do that, just block and filter what you don't like and people you don't like. Trying to instead police how people enjoy media or choose to write things is not the answer. Getting mad at people for enjoying things wrong is only going to make you miserable.

Block, filter, and scroll by it. We are all here together to enjoy things how we like.

I haven't shared my Rogue Trader (tabletop) PC yet! This is Vaille (placeholder name I'm so, so bad at names) and she's a void mistress! (steers the ship) She's tired and just doesn't want the RT to lose her ship in a gambling incident and is weary after many years of a dramatic past she does not speak of often, except to drop personal lore that makes the crew ask "what exactly did you do before this again?" which she will not answer. Ship pilot, RT crew wrangler, Imperial Navy vet :) I like her, we will see how long she survives in game lol.

Ao3 does not need an algorithm, you're just lazy

Ao3 does not need a 1-5 star rating system, you just want to bring down authors writing for FREE

Ao3 does not need automatic censorship, it is an archive, therefore anything can be posted

Writing or reading about something illegal does not mean the author nor the reader condones it, if that were true, you could never read a story involving anything negative

Purity culture is ruining fan culture and you all are fucking annoying

#so many brain dead Ao3 takes stem from people getting lazy #and yes it is laziness regardless of if they'll admit it #bring back having to curate your own experiences instead of having it fed to you through a straw #i understand having low spoons and wanting something to jump into but at that point it might be better to just rest your brain #clicking on search boxes is a very low effort task once you know how it works #do not let fanfic fall to consumerism #there are people behind every story
