i ended up reading iwwv first (loved it) during december

im currently like 15% through the secret history and i'm liking it a little less than iwwv so far

i've been trying to decide whether I should read the secret history or if we were villains first.

i am aware that the secret history is the book that inspired a lot of what is modernly referred to as dark academia, and that if we were villains takes a lot of heavy influences from the novel.

i've heard that people think iwwv is tsh but watered down and not as good, so should I read the original and risk being disappointed, or read the modern one and miss references and parallels?
