-Very American. It's so easy to tell just by looking at him. Not that he hasn't picked up on some style choices or lingo from the rest of the tuners.

-Lived in some middle of nowhere farm town for most of his life before moving out on his own, his family has generational farm land and most of the men in his family always fixed up an old hobby car on the side.

-His allergies were subtle as a kid but got worse as he grew older. A lot of the farm animals and such trigger a sneezing fit and it makes him annoyed that it's stopping him from doing tasks like that.

-He has meds for his allergies now but sometimes they don't help.

-Has a slight southern drawl but it really only comes out when he's drunk or tired. He doesn't get drunk too often. When he does it's off of Coors, which he swears by.

-Went to the closest public school and didn't have much luck with friends, got bullied, none of the other farm kids liked him even though they had a lot in common.

-Thanks to this, he did not do that well in school. Most grades were average but he did fail some things here and there. Still graduated though.

-He's an awkward middle child. Got left out all the time and it shows.

-Has siblings, an older brother that now has his own farm, older sister that comes back to help out occasionally, a younger brother that he feels terrible about because even though it was long overdue to move out on his own, he still felt bad that now there was only one sibling all alone at home. Rod hopes his little brother has better luck with friends than he did. Growing up, his siblings were his only friends.

-His older sister is also into cars. It stays a hobby and she never races. He's glad she doesn't, even though he's the younger one he still worries about her. When he was younger she took him for drives in her own muscle car and he absolutely idolized her.

-Safe to say his mama and sister have solidified his respect for women.

-Mom taught him how to cook well too. He is the best cook out of the whole group and loves a classic bacon eggs and orange juice breakfast.

-When he moved, it was to Drag city, very well known for the built up car culture in that specific area. Garages, car shows, swap meets. Every other weekend there's something going on. He makes a little cash on the side selling off old parts he doesn't need, his full time job is at a restoration garage.

-He's been offered the position of manager but he keeps to himself so much he really doesn't think he would be any good at it.

-He avoids any apprentices that start at the shop simply because he doesn't like new people too much. In other words; he wouldn't be a very good journeyman either.

-He got really good at street racing when he moved to Drag city, but in an unconventional car compared to what everyone else was driving.

-Though it's not necessarily difficult for him to race the challenger, he does stand out.

-Ever since he's been doing well for himself he has also accumulated a roadrunner and a cuda. He just keeps on bringing home rust buckets.

-Fridge is covered in those RockAuto magnets.

-His dream car is a superbird, which for now the roadrunner will have to do. He could make it into one, but it would be heavy modifications. He's a nerd about authenticity of things like that when it comes to 70s stuff.

-Extremely big on 70s street machines. He likes the look of rat rods and stuff of that nature. But most of the cars they're paid to restore are just restored to stock, nothing special.

-Spends most of his time at work, and after hours he brings his own cars in or works at his at home garage. That's how he spends a huge amount of his time. He really is not too good at being social.

-He met Boost, Wingo, and Dj shortly after getting settled into his new place. They were passing through, hitting up some race events and wingo had been making and fitting a few designs for clients.

-When he met those three he literally felt like Sean in Tokyo drift.

-Drag city is a big change compared to a small town, so he was overwhelmed exploring the place. In fact for a while he was really second guessing it, he started to get super anxious. But making friends with a close group like his own really helped.

-Has gotten caught for speeding and once for bootlegging beer. He was just living out his 70s movie fantasy. Literally felt so scared when he was pulled over. He's a pretty innocent guy and those things are the worst he's ever done.

-Dj, Wingo, and Boost can be super overbearing when the three of them are all together. But it was kind of nice. Rod can sit back and listen to the three of them and still feel included. That makes him sound like a total loser but he likes the dynamic alot

-The other three have never restored cars, only upgraded newer ones. What he thought they would find lame, they actually were really fascinated by.

-Rod knows a lot of older tricks to customizing your ride. For example; 3D aspects. He did 3D flames on the back of a car for work once and they all begged him to teach them how.

-He's also chopped apart cars and mixed them together to make these super awesome Franken car type things.

-A lot of the time he undermines his talent but Wingo informs him that most guys today just don't know how to do that stuff anymore. And if they do, they'd rather drive some new import.

-Refuses to modify any of his cars except for the challenger which he likes to keep pretty vanilla. No coloured headlights, original interior and paint colour, no coloured flames. He only modifies the challenger because its his designated racecar.

-No matter how many ideas wingo sketches and the boys back him up on, he says he doesnt need ‘all those bells and whistles’

-They all call him snot Rod because of his horrible allergies and the fact that he's firm on his opinion that hot rods are better and he'll always drive them. It also works because his name is Rodger, though he finds only his parents call him by his full name. The guys just say Rod.

-Maybe his lady friends call him Roddie, but he's a little short on ladies. Almost thirty and hasn't had his first kiss.

-Once this girl called him Rodger Rabbit as a joke and he sort of short circuited.

-Shortest of the group at 5’8” Though the way he dresses in bell bottoms and sometimes a classic 70s heel or platform makes him look tall. He's got some muscle from handling heavy parts and farm equipment.

-He's the oldest of the group at 27, and he feels like it. He's truly an old soul.

-Much more in touch with his culture than Dj is, but still lives in America. Nitropolis to be specific.

-His dad is japanese, his mom is of mexican decent. Making him Japanese latino.

-There were disagreements about his name, but eventually they agreed on Bosuke. Now that his parents have split, his mom regrets not giving him a name from her own culture. And he knows it.

-His parents met in Japan after his mom decided to travel for school. They settled down together and lived there for a while and had Boost, where he was raised until he was around six when his sister was born and his parents split up.

-His mom decided she wanted to move back to America where her family was and start a new life without his father.

-He had one really close friend that he all but threw a tantrum about leaving. His mom assured him he'd make more friends when they moved.

-That close friend was Wingo. Or Washio, as Boost knew him. They couldn't really keep in contact as six year olds.

-His accent is there but it's soft, he had a much stronger one as a child but it's faded. He really starts to sound latino when he's angry. Being around his mom a lot more as a kid that's the accent he picked up.

-His mom does not like that he street races, and thinks his car is really stupid looking. He started when he was around sixteen, just old enough to drive. Though she still loves him very much there are definitely disagreements.

-When he was old enough to work he picked up a job at the local nursing home as an elderly assistant. He worked there on weekends starting at fifteen, and ended up staying there for a few more years and switching to after school shifts so that he could have his weekends free for drifting, street racing, and any other car activities he could think of.

-He had this one elderly man he helped out that would always talk to him about drop tank racing, though that will never be Boosts thing it was great to learn about and they really had a bond.

-Boost talked to him about street racing and brought in photos of his car, sometimes even calling when he wasn't working just to chat.

-When he graduated he stopped working there, he went back to visit the drop tank racer and actually got really emotional to hear that he'd passed.

-Now he makes some cash off of street races, and a garage he works at. He's not super sure if that's what he wants to do forever. But it's what he's doing now.

-Always trying to help out his mama. She doesn't always accept his money.

-Has a younger sister, his parents had her just before the move so there's roughly a six year age difference between them.(Boost is 25, she's 19)

-That age difference doesn't mean much to him. He's still the most protective and supportive older brother he can be.

-During his first year of high-school, he was on a bunch of black market parts websites and looking up street racing videos and such. He does miss Japan, he tries not to let it show to his mom because he understands her too.

-Upon doing this research he found this guy whose name sounded awfully familiar and decided to message him. It was Washio, or as he'd now been named by his racing friends, Wingo. The both of them were so excited to connect again.

-He couldn’t believe they turned out so similar.

-He was super envious to hear about all the cool shit Wingo was doing at home. He always sent sketches of new projects and photos of cars from the scene. All throughout highschool they talked almost every day.

-Really values a good outfit. He's super into street wear and gym clothes. Comfy but he looks real good in them. Wingo suggests he could be a model.

- Had an extremely serious conversation with all of the guys about not getting his sister into street racing. She hasn't shown any interest but he wants to keep it that way. Not that he wants to leave her out, but he'd rather she stay safe.

-Wingo and Boost have the deepest and longest connection of the group. There are some things they just get about each other.

-He's had other friendships and still maintains some connections, he gets along with people well enough. But no one is as close to him as Wingo.

-He has fallen in with a few bad people and crowds over the years, he's been arrested for aggravated assault multiple times.

-His mom and sister talk about how they see his father in him in that way. He's overheard a few times after these incidents but never really changes his ways. He just doesn't talk for a few days out of shame.

-He has been caught for speeding once. When he speeds he's pretty slick about getting away.

-He has a keychain for his keys that Wingo gave him. It's one of his prized possessions and he considers it a good luck charm.

-Drives a 1999 Nissan Silvia s15, Wingo gave him some advice on cars being tuned up in the current scene. He ended up picking this car.

-Most people can't pronounce his name (Bosuke) god bless Rod for trying but he absolutely butchers it. That's the case for quite a few people, hence his street racing name being Boost.

-He doesn't really take offence to it because he likes the street alias.

-He himself understands how hard another language can be to pronounce correctly. Considering he began learning English at six. He picked up on it better because he was young and his mom already spoke some to him.

-His sister doesn't know much Japanese, she didn't grow up with their father seeing as she was only a baby when he was already out of the picture. She does know a lot of Spanish from their mom.

-When his sister was young she called him ‘Bo-Bo.’ Because she was just a toddler who couldn't speak very well. She still does sometimes because it just sort of stuck. No one else knows where that started and they don't call him by that nickname.

-By that same idea, some of his family call him Bo as a nickname. All his latina aunties love to squish his cheeks and tell him how grown he's getting. He doesn't mind them choosing not to use the name his father gave him.

-The guys all call him Boost. It works because he's really into using Nitrous, more than anyone else in the gang.

-It makes him happy to know someone like Wingo who can pronounce his name properly and engage in conversation in japanese. It allows him to attach it to something other than his father, and keep up with speaking three languages. He doesn't mind helping Dj learn a few things either.

-Some guys on the scene have mispronounced his name completely on purpose, not even attempting. This resulted in things like ‘Broski’ and ‘Bossco’ being said. It gave the other three a chuckle but Boost didn't like it very much.

-He's never been bullied and that's because he simply doesn't let it happen. He will throw hands. And the above scenario seriously made him consider it.

-Yet another bad band reference from Rod; calls Boost Bachman. Like Bachman Turner Overdrive.

-When he talks to girls (and usually succeeds) the guys poke fun at him. Pretending to be all infatuated and saying shit like ‘aw my Boo’ again, another play on his name and a pet name. That one isn't too bad because they say it with love.

-Second shortest after Rod at 5’9. He's a gym rat. So his muscle makes him appear bigger. He is super tall compared to his mama and sister.

-Him and Wingo are the same age at 25. In between Rod and DJ.

DJ: Devon Montegomery Johnston III

‘Dev’, ‘Devvy’, ‘Devo’

-Born in America and has never actually been to Japan, or at least he doesn't remember it very well. His mom took him to visit family when he was very young.

-His mom is japanese, dad is american. Hence his American sounding full name.

-He has no siblings, though he wishes he did. It sucks because any cousins or other kids in his family don't live near.

-Lived in Treble town his whole life, still does.

-Graduated public high-school with pretty decent grades and a few friends, took a gap year and was supposed to go to school after but he didn't.

-His parents wanted him to stay at home and focus on academics until he can get some high earning job like doctor or lawyer.

-Imagine their disdain when he says he wants a career in music. Good thing he had moved out recently.

-By moved out, I actually mean he couch hopped for a while until he made enough to meet rent every month on his own place.

-Right now he works at a local record store and mixes music and Djs for parties and events, but he wants to move up into bigger jobs like producer or even own a label.

-Has had some crazy house parties in highschool. Many his parents didn't find out about, many they did. The way he acted strained their relationship with him a lot.

-He also sold drugs in highschool, surprise surprise. But he's stopped dealing after getting more into music and a little older. He's been caught for it a few times. Another reason he stopped, he couldn't hide it as well as he thought.

-He is worse than the entire group. He speeds so much and it's so easy to catch him because no one in the area he lives in has a car like his.

-Doesn't smoke or do hard drugs. But he does like to get high and have a beer.

-This guy for real started drinking Coors when he met Rod.

-Drives a 2004 Toyota bB and he actually just bought the car because he thought it looked silly and liked it

-A lot of car people would ask him about it and he got more interested in tuning it up and modifying it. Then shortly after that he got into street racing, which is a blast in that thing. Not very aerodynamic though.

-He's the craziest out of everyone. Young and careless and unhinged. His personality is balanced out and tamed a lot when he's hanging with Rod. He actually really mellows out when they get to talking.

-He wants to move to Drag city, he thinks the whole scene there is really cool and he spends a lot of time over at Rod's place.

-Though, if he really thinks about it he wants to see his family in Japan and get to know them. Which would entail moving there and most likely drifting apart from his friends.

-It's nice hanging with Rod one on one because Dj has a very diverse music taste so he actually enjoys quiet nights with 70s music playing softly from the speakers while they both engage in non verbal working on car time.

-He thought he would be close with Wingo because of their similar style and interests, but he actually became unexpectedly close to Rod.

-You could basically separate the group into two sets of ‘Best friends’ Rod and Dj, and Boost and Wingo. Though they are all friendly and get along great.

-But… once Boost punched DJ out for trying to get with his sister. (Her being 19 and close in age to DJ at 20) They both apologized later and DJ never tried anything like that again.

-He has almost no accent, growing up in America, only seeing American family, with an American father will do that to you. He also knows very little Japanese.

-It really gets to him sometimes that he's so far from his own culture. He feels like he'd seem like a tourist if he went to visit.

-It made him really happy as a child when his mom would cook meals from his culture or watch her shows. He felt bad to ask her to turn the subtitles on though.

-The relationship he had with his parents was rocky because of his career choice and tendency to get into trouble and illegal activity, he still tries with his mom. But sometimes it feels like his efforts are for nothing.

-He had friends growing up but stopped talking to a lot of them when he met the gang, he feels a lot more connected to them than he did anyone else. All his other friendships were sort of surface level.

-Dj met Wingo and Boost when he decided to go see who the hell had been screeching their tires at 1am in these cool as fuck cars.

-By that, he sat in his own car and waited for them to pass by like every night before that. And then tried to race them until they eventually stopped for gas and he finally met the guys.

-He's had his car since he was 18, got into racing it shortly after when he was in his couch hopping stage. Got settled in at 20 and met the guys soon after.

-He's absolutely ecstatic to discover that the two of them are also japanese. They help him feel less far away from his culture and introduce him to all sorts of shows, music, cars and things.

-He's friends with them for a couple months before they roll into Drag city and meet Rod.

-He gets called Devon pretty often, but usually the guys call him Dev.

-Rod thinks it’s funny to call him Devo, but no one really gets that reference.

-Once had a girlfriend that called him Devvy and the guys used that name for weeks once they'd heard her say that. It was torture.

-Decently tall at 5'11, he's pretty lanky too. But Wingo is still taller than him.

-Like I said, he's young. DJ is 20 and he acts like it. Rod says DJ keeps him young. A seven year difference starts to feel pretty small when you spend so much time together as a group.

-Has the strongest accent out of the boys, due to growing up raised in Japan by his two fully japanese parents.

-He's been immersed in street racing and car mods since he was young. His parents of course worry about him, but they can't stop him because not too many years ago they were doing the same thing.

-He had those model car sets as a kid and modified them all the time, made little cardboard body kits and stuff. He's been modifying cars since the womb.

-His parents are super cool and had their kids young and close together.

-This guy is the only brother, with two older sisters. It goes; him at 25, his sister 26, and oldest sister 27.

-They all grew up close and every street racing trick he knows has been taught to him by his sisters.

-The same way he knows how to treat a lady. Because his sisters would yell at him if he ever treated a girl wrong.

-Jokes about giving his oldest sister Rod's number because the guy won't talk to girls. Wingo says he needs to get out there.

-The 2004 Acura RSX is his main street race car. That's the one he has the huge spoiler on.

-He has another car, the 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse, he wants to race that one more but always ends up going back to the acura.

-He stayed connected with Boost as mentioned earlier, and really wants to go see him.

-Throughout the years he's mailed all sorts of cool stickers, magnets, drawings, photos to Boost.

-He has plenty of friends and acquaintances, he wasn't popular in high-school at all, but is incredibly well known now for his work on cars.

-He knows how to do everything. Air brushing, painting, wrapping, installing aftermarket parts. He even dabbles in pinstriping.

-His parents have an awesome garage that he and his sisters all use daily.

-Once he's made good money off of that, his friends and family suggest he finds a few willing clients in different areas and travels a bit for work.

-He wouldn't have considered the idea had it not been for Boost. But he genuinely believes he's the closest friend he's ever had. So he took it as an opportunity to go see him.

-Only brought one car with him to meet Boost finally. That was the Acura.

-He planned to hang around with Boost for a year or so, get some work done and go back home. But after he meets DJ and Rod, he doesn't want to leave them behind and stays a little longer.

-So around 24 years old he went out and stayed at Boosts place while he worked for a year. And at 25 when he was supposed to go home, he decided to stay longer.

-He stays in contact with his family very well and video calls them a lot. Usually he and boost chill in the garage and chat with his sisters back home working in the family garage.

-The guys want to go on a group trip and meet Wingos family, so maybe when he goes back they'll come with him and stay a while.

-Drinks so many energy drinks. But he's especially loyal to any green and purple flavours. He likes to lean into his own aesthetic.

-Dude loves to check himself out (that scene where he looks at his reflection on Macs trailer)

-Takes his sisters to the theater every time a new F&F movie is out.

-He also knows how to dye hair, do piercings, got into tattoos but ultimately went back to car related jobs.

-Because he makes all sorts of designs for cars, he's awesome at drawing.

-Pretty decent at cutting hair as well. Shaved designs and notching eyebrows are so fun for him, he's not too bad with makeup and does a pretty good under eye liner look. Once again thanks to his sisters.

-When he was going through an interesting fashion era he had his mom teach him how to use a sewing machine. He has a hoodie that matches his car he made himself.

-Fashion sense comes from where he was brought up around japanese street fashion, stealing his older sisters unused clothes and making new things, also his mom is a hard working business woman and she's low key an office siren. His older sisters are divas and liked to dress him up when they were all little.

-He uses his vehicle airbrushing supplies to airbrush clothes. He's made a couple matching ones to go with paint jobs for clients.

-He's just so unbelievably creative and a man of many talents. Sometimes he gets super overwhelmed. He's hard to get a hold of because he's just so busy with everything.

-Doesn't get a lot of sleep due to this. And his crippling energy drink addiction.

-He gets hyper focused on whatever he's working on. He is similar to Rod in that way.

-Had a little bit of a rebellious streak because he felt like to make a name for himself in the car scene he had to have committed some crime whether it be big time or petty. He would shoplift small things and got caught once after a pretty long streak so he finally stopped.

-He's done graffiti quite a few times but never got caught. He wouldn't consider it vandalism because he makes art.

-His graffiti tag is littered all over Boosts home town for that reason. And once wingo found a more permanent place, he tagged that town too.

-Speeds a lot obviously. But has only been pulled over a handful of times.

-Rod calls him Winger, another reference that falls flat on its face to these guys. Sometimes when he's feeling particularly rock n roll he also says it like Winga’!

-A past girlfriend he's had would call him Winnie. He's sort of a lover boy and he secretly thought it was cute.

-Would have more time for relationships if he wasn't so focused on his hobbies.

-Seriously. From morning to night he's painting and creating anything he can. He has the rare crash out, burn out or lazy day.

-Close family calls him Washi. This part of his name just means ‘eagle’ he's careful not to let Rod know that or he'll have another vintage band nickname.

-Super tall at 6'2” He's taller than his dad and the rest of the tuners. He's not super skinny so it doesn't look that disproportionate. But he definitely doesn't have as much muscle as Boost and Rod.

-Dudes shoe size is crazy.

-Same age as Boost. He's 25. If they hadn't gone to school together young they probably would have never met when they grew older.
