I am grateful for morning walks with my little one tucked warmly against my chest. I am grateful for the smiling faces I encounter and the ones who happily wave at my daughter (who waves at every stranger she sees). I am grateful for my Starbucks baristas who always happily make my coffee, remember my drink, interact with my daughter, and still treat me kindly when I never think to tip them for their hard work. I am grateful for the police who keep my streets safe so that I can take these morning walks in peace with my innocent daughter who has never known a day of war. I am grateful for the government, our military and President included, for keeping us alive and blissfully unaware of what they go through to keep it that way. I am grateful for all of it, and I will do everything I can to help those who have never known this kind of peace. Though religion, race, and creed may sometimes unfairly divide us, we all deserve unity and happiness as one species. We all deserve to look up at the leaves changing color under the robin egg blue sky and be thankful to be alive.

Raising Hope Round Two: Standing with Paris

The first round of Raising Hope went even better then I expected, and so far I’ve been able to raise $50 for Classes 4 Classes! Awesome. 

However, In light of the recent terrorist attack in Paris, France, which took place at the balaclava during an Eagles for Death Metal concert, killing at least 167 people and leaving many more wounded, I will be donating all of the rest of the proceeds I raise…
