Can someone help me? I can’t see Will in this shot

He should be behind Lucas and Max and the other black boy and the girl with the red shirt. But after Mike and El kiss, it seems like he disappears. I see Mike and El, Dustin and Nancy, Max is still hugging Lucas, but where’s Will? Why does he keep disappearing? 

It’s interesting that in this season Joyce asks What happens when my boy is gone? and Owens doesn’t answer. We will definitely know what it means in S5

But after this, poof. Gone. It’s strange. If we’re seeing different timelines in a time loop, it means that Will couldn’t go to the ball in one of them. What happened to him? And why did he disappear after Mike and El kiss and right before we see the Mind Flayer?

henry is constantly compared to freddy krueger. the byers live on elm street. nancy, the final girl of the og nightmare on elm street, lived. at 1428 elm street. the byers home in hawkins was on elm street (and looking at the map, might’ve been the sole home there). in the 2010 remake, freddy is killed via fire, gains new powers which allow him inside of peoples heads, then. is defeated again, via fire. after els initial defeat of henry, he takes on a burned appearance, but gains new powers which allow him inside of peoples heads.

im not saying that season 5 is gonna have will being the one to nerf henry, as he’s the one henry’s been targeting after his initial defeat, and that the byers living on elm street is proof of this bc of all the henry : freddy parallels but.

finally posting here again to chime in on all the people saying that we’re getting s5 on october 13th (because of the official accounts referencing ‘353 days’ today, which is 353 days away from friday the 13th, 2023)

im not sure if it’ll be a release on the thirteenth, but it could be a slasher reference? i’ve been trying to make a cohesive theory about this for awhile now, but off the top of my head:

friday the 13th is an iconic slasher film, and iirc, one of the bullies who targets will in ‘trick or treat freak’ is dressed as jason voorhees

there’s the constant references to michael myers, dustin compares el to him in season one, there’s max’s costume in season 2, then the return of her michael mask in season 4, when eddie wears it, wayne comparing victor creel and michael myers, and the grave in max’s vecna vision (episode 4) which seems to say myers on it

and one i haven’t seen people talk about; according to the map of hawkins which hopper uses in season 2... the byers live on elm street. there’s other references to nightmare on elm street, the duffers famously compared the teens situation in s1 to nightmare on elm street in terms of vibes, with nancy being based off of nancy thompson, and then visual similarities between noes scenes and scenes with joyce in season 1. also, theres a cut out for noes in family video, and robert englund was hired to play victor.

which... i dont know what to make of this! i think that the fact all these slashers keep being referenced could be important, but it could be the duffers doing.. the thing they do throughout the whole show and playing on 80s nostalgia. it could have a meaning for future plot events, and friday the 13th could be important, just... not for release date reasons, and as a reference to the film, for season 5 plot reasons.

the main difference between st/byler tumblr and st/byler twt is that on tumblr i watched everyone have fun coming up with new characters for will to be shipped with (all played by finn wolfhard) and then i turned around and saw twt seriously making fun of the notion of a crossover ship and that’s why i’m only active on tumblr-

a gentle reminder that the original party are really smart, enjoy learning and are actually science nerds. (the smart part is obvious: will reacts really fast and is pretty confident in his actions in s1ep1, mike is first to figure out what to do in dangerous situations, lucas has good strategic thinking, I don't have to say anything about dustin)

they won a science fair before s1 (1st place!!)

in s1 they figured out how to find the gate all by themselves (a strong magnet bends the magnetic field and affects the compass)

they love mr clark's lessons - "Mad Max" shows the contrast between the enthusiasm of Our Children and the boredom of the rest of the class (they are so excited to learn about humans brain, Mike is actually smiling!!)

mr clark also is the av club supervisor, and we all know how excited they were in s1ep1 when a radio station arrived, capable of reaching as far as australia

in s3 dustin goes to a science summer camp called Know Where, and after he arrives home, we are shown him bragging about the Things he made there (Will is Impressed)

i really want more of them using their knowledge to fight stuff from the UD, is this too much to ask?? out of 4 smartasses only dustin has remained true to his love of science and only he continues to actually use his intellect.

the hug being improvised is kinda funny when you consider it being used in the trailers/everyone freaking out trying to tell if will was hugging the same person in different frames. they decided to include that shot specifically, and we went crazy over it, and it was just charlie and noah going “hey yk what would really work with this scene?”

hey so people have been theorizing that the reason no one celebrated wills birthday in season 4 is because they used wills birthday to try to reach him in season 2 when will was under henry’s possession and henry is described as taking memories. and like.

will says “it’s been a year, mike”, and i know a lot of people just figure he’s being dramatic/hasn’t felt close to mike for a year, but like. a year ago in st time would be wills birthday. the first birthday will had after his possession.

what if the “henry stole the memory of wills birthday” is correct, and in some way, that’s linked to the “it’s been a year” line? it’s the only memory that got stolen of something which happens annually, soooo… is there maybe something there?

im going to cry i am begging you all to learn what a love triangle is. the situation between will el and mike is 100% a love triangle. even if you think wills feelings are one sided, it’s still a love triangle. will and el are siblings, there is no romantic love between them, and it’s still a love triangle.

you have person a, b, and c. a has romantic feelings for b and or c. b has romantic feelings for a and or c. c has romantic feelings for a and or b. all three members have romantic interest in one or more of the other members. that’s a love triangle
