In my psychology class we're learning about the correlation between lead pipes and criminality. Honestlyyy I think the Gotham city government should start an initiative to replace their lead piping. FINALLY BREAKING OUT OF MY POST-BEING-A-TEEN-READER BURNOUTTTT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Sally Rooney's Normal People 4/5 💛💛💛💛🖤

Not my typical pick for a book but my favvvv booktuber Jack Edwards talked about it in a few videos, I was so influenced hahah. I was definitely expecting a typically airport YA book with more simple themes and storylines which I thought would bring me back to reading slowly but this was truly amazing. It's such a skilled dissection of these two people (Connell and Marianne)'s personalities and how they change over their adolescence, and it was masterful at that. I loved the dynamic between gender and class between the two characters, Connell being a progressive man who still has underlying sexist worldviews and Marianne being a rich woman who, despite her comfortable life still has a bad home life and her own underlying elitist worldviews. The title is perfect, these are truly normal people who have conflicting opinions and change in different ways and doubt themselves and their relationships with others which I loved. I also liked the lack of quotations for dialog, maybe because I was such a fan of The Road by Cormac McCarthy which does a similar thing. I think that makes the dialog much more present and natural in a text. Another part of the writing I like a lot was that people weren't always communicating every thought, you could tell or maybe even only guess how characters interpreted a situation based on their actions and behaviors during conversations, not just based on what they were saying. My one criticism is that I got so mad about Marianne being elitist about who should get scholarships likee you're rich you shouldn't get to say whether scholarships should be needs based or not, ugh. But overall I'm in love with this book so 4/5 stars 4 me 😌. If you've read this book plssss tell me your thoughts I'd love to hear what other ppl think!!! Thank you Jack Edwards for introducing me to this book ily king.

My sister's cat is always waking me up and so loud and rude and drinks all my open waters. She just woke me up 2 hours before I wanted to and I couldn't go back to sleep. But not only that, she twice attempted and finally succeeded in spilling a fulllllll glass of water towards herself onto my bed. And I was trying to stop her! She was just so adamant about it! I love cats but dude get your life together

When I was a child I went to a wedding and us kids went into the attic and watched this movie on a box television in the dark and someone said a ghost touched her shoulder and we all screamed and cried and that's why children shouldn't be allowed in weddings unless they are in the attic.
