I know half of the genshin fandom can't be arsed to read character stories or in game texts (this isn't meant to be neg by the way more of a neutral lean, like yes not everyone can be super invested in poring thru the in game materials but it's also a sort of line in the sand whether your opinion should be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to speaking on particulars) but it's such a diamond mine for characterization.

With how pitifully limited the first person POV of the story telling is at times the little tidbits and lore hidden in some of the character stories are often buried.

Like for example Alhaitham doesn't seem like someone who's particularly sentimental but reading his character story 5 you'll discover how he was raised by his grandma and how she shaped him to have his strong sense of self. How she wanted him to live a peaceful life and we can see much of this influenced him and his desire to go back to his normal routine.

I really do hope there's at least another type of medium Hoyo can tap into as supplementary to canon materials so we can expand more into the stories of the ever expanding cast (I was going to say bar the tangentially lore important characters but even they can fall victim to the conservation of information law)

(yes I know HI3 had mangas and some animated shorts and I truly do hope the GI anime is somehow this rather than a total rehash of the archon quests)

I was about to post a lengthy "Haikaveh are each other's family" ramble but not sure why it lost most of the changes and didn't go thru once I've checked my drafts even though I made sure to save throughout. Sadly, I'm really demotivated to continue. I'll probably come back to it later once I have energy for the topic again but definitely not now cause truly I am mourning the loss as I was really invested in how I was able to articulate my thoughts and feelings 🥲

A txj specific playlist I created a year ago and I'm lowkey proud of.

I wanted it to sound as cohesive as possible and still have lyrics relevant to TXJ. The first half sounds like his descent to madness while the other half is more contemplative, mournful even.

It's a mish mash of different artist and genres whether popular or not. Also I very much picked the songs based on the lyrics and whether it connects to the character in particular so I strongly urge y'all to read it too while listening 💖.

I'll probably polish the other character's playlist when I have time but for now enjoy this one I made for one of my favorite all time characters

I don't remember who said it on twitter but there's something really good about how Hoyo had Alhaitham and Kaveh represent idealism vs realism via the birds in their constellations.

Alhaitham who's an eagle which is something that exists in real life vs Kaveh with the huma, a mythological bird that never touches the ground
