HEY uh I don't know how old your mothman costume was, but I really wanna know how to make wings like that for this year!

The Mothman costume is less than a year old, and thankfully I still remember how I did it!

I’m assuming you mean the more recent one with the better wings. So for those I made a wire frame in the shape I needed. Then I cut up my curtains, as they were the right fabric, and snaked some EL wire through. The circles on the wings are made out of felt.

Oh god sO STORYTIME

I don’t think I posted about it but I went to a convention in that costume and entered a competition. That involved me being backstage. In the dark.

To answer your question, the vision is terrible. I need glasses anyways, and the goggles are tinted, so those combined with the morph suit I wear underneath practically blinded me.

Now you’d think it’d be easier to see when the lights on the goggles were on? Incorrect, it was MUCH harder, and the lights pulsed, so I could only see for a few seconds at a time.

Now, backstage, I had to go up stairs and through fairly narrow passageways. I was in essence blind, and also had bigger wings than my original design, so it was terrifying being led around in the dark, not knowing if I was about to crash into anything.

So pro tip for making any Mothman costume? Make sure you can goddamn see better than I could.

I love your stuff so accept this idea. C.C. Tinsley went missing cause he was knocked out and dumped on a train to a secluded town for working the Sodder case. Turns out, this town had a recent change in leadership cause a dude named Ricky Goldsworth just took the Mayors house and made him the butler. Which is why they met. This thing is inspired off of a fic I read on ao3 a while ago. I think it's called Save my Soul by coconutcluster.

Oh hell yeah this is great. I’ll have to check out that fic, btw, thanks for the recommendation. I can totally imagine Tinsley being the snarkly butler type and many times almost being fired or killed.

Damn so I can’t off the top of my head remember where Banjo came from, but I believe it was the Museum Heist episode, and I think Francesca was from the Isdal Woman episode.

angel!shane also just likes teasing demons (the iconic "hey there demons it's me ya boi") bc compared to demon!ryan, shane is actually a bit higher on the angelic hierarchy than he is on the demonic hierarchy (i know i send so much of these asjkdhfg)

I love having powerful angel!Shane who like,,,,,, could do actual angel stuff really well but like,,,,,, he would much rather just fuck around.

And Ryan who wishes he could do demon stuff better and is a but annoyed that Shane has all this POWER but he’s not DOING anything with it but Ryan is pretty relieved that Shane is just chill and wants to go ghost hunting

demon!ryan really does mean about half of the death threats he tells angel!shane; mostly it's for nostalgia's sake bc the used to be ultimate enemies until they got bored around the late 1900s (maybe they were influence by a certain angel and demon who knows). sometimes, tho, shane isn't sure if ryan is still joking or if he needs a time-out

I’d like to think that angel!Shane is actually a pretty powerful angel and also his true form looks like one of those many-winged, many-eyed, terrifying angels. It’d be a really cool concept.

Also, angel!Shane would probably have to be powerful/rebellious enough to keep demon!Ryan’s interest long enough to,,,,,, y’know,,,,,,,, not get killed,,,,,,

angel!shane was worried at first when demon!ryan revealed he was going to have holy water ("cmon ryan don't be a baby you can stand up to the bullies" "they're not bullies shane") so he tries to make the demons focus on him and his angelic energy so they leave ryan alone ("i don't need your protection shane" "look ryan if you get hurt or worse then i won't have anybody to bother at the office anymore")

This has got me thinking about what angel!Shane (and demon!Ryan) meeting Father Thomas would be like.

Theoretically it could just go normally, but where’s the fun in that?
