Tamara Natalie Madden / Artist / Painter /
Tamara Natalie Madden was born in Kingston Jamaica, and eventually moved to the United Sates where she continued her journey and destiny as an ARTIST. She studied at several universities and broaden her skill as an artist in the states. Suffering from a rare disease she overcame those odds and continued her love for the ARTS. She received a kidney transplant in 2001 and entered her first exhibition that same year. Her first solo exhibition was in 2004. Tamara Natalie moved to Atlanta where she met Charly Palmer. Charlie “Carlos” Palmer & Kevin Williams whom eventually became her mentors.. In the Year 2007 Tamara Madden debuted a collection entitled ‘Kings and Queens” which was inspired by the uplifting of the every day person.
These works where based on Tamara Natalie Madden memories of native Jamaican people,which she has never forgotten on her travels. Tamara Madden influences ranged from Gustav Klimt, Egypt,Asia and West & East African Royalty and the clothing worn by Native Indian and African women.
Tamara Natalie Madden works can be seen today at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee, permanent collection are seen at Alverno College in Milwaukee WI and Charles H.Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit MI.
