We Support Long Play
When was the first time you got the music CD? What did you do when you got a new album of your favorite artist? We used to buy the physical album, put CD on a CD player, and read booklet and listen songs with lyrics on it whereas we download a song and just listen.
Don't you miss old times? Because we do.
We believe music is more than just consuming songs. The whole album is the story artists want their fans to hear, and booklet connect us with them by providing exclusive content with the CD.
Buying music in these days isn't achievable anymore. We want people to hear the full story from the artist. We want the artists to be connected with their fans like before, but more developed with the current technology. That's why we are developing Bainil: where artists can publish their albums and their fans can enjoy and be close to them.
Music should be more than just consuming. That's why we support long play.

The Best of Clazziquai Project: Recommended song for starters
I wrote about how amazing Clazziquai Project and how influential they are in South Korea. I also suggested few of my favorites and I realized, "It's not enough. May be I should create a new list just for my favorite Clazziquai songs." So here I am, going to introduce my favorites that you must hear from each album from Clazziquai Project. (I choose not to add Metrotronics and DJ Clazzi album since those are not technically associated with Clazziquai Project.)
1. Instant Pig (2004)
Novabossa: Such a calm but sweet song. You can enjoy acoustic side of Clazziquai Project with this song.
Stepping Out: My top song from this album. The melody instantly catches my ear. Very electronic and, most importantly, fun! I jumped so hard when this song popped out in the concert.
Cat Bossa: Novabossa, but based on a cat's perspective! This song is so much fun and I even like it more than the original song.
2. ZBAM (2004)
Futuristic - House Remix: I prefer this than the original. Remixed version is more catchy and dynamic.
Come To Me - Mellotron Remix: The original song is "내게로 와" and has different tone. I love this song's mood which I think suits better than the original. One of my favorite songs from Clazziquai Project.
She Loves You: Very fun and lovely song. I love guitar sound a lot.
You Never Know - Soft Remix: Vocal in this song is so strong and sharp. Original version is still good though. I just prefer strong vocal.
After Love - Female ver.: My top song from the album. The guitar and Horan's voice... Wow! Such an amazing combination.
3. Color Your Soul (2005)
Beautiful Woman + Salesman: My top song from this album. So catchy! Fun lyrics! Great sound! One of few songs I never get bored of.
Fill This Night: This song always make me exciting. So much excitement in this song. Try out.
Cry Out Loud + Come Alive: Both songs have similar style. Fast beat with various electronic sounds gives me a lot of pleasure.
Be My Love (English ver.) (House Remix): It's already a remix, but I still love it a lot.
4. Pinch Your Soul (2006)
Love Mode (feat. Tablo): Lovely song. This song is just a perfection with Tablo's rap.
I'll Give You Everything (Buoyant Remix) (feat. J & Bobby Kim): Fresh and unique voices are added to the original song. It has faster beat and more lovely sound than the original. And Bobby Kim's voice just works flawlessly in this song.
Sweety (Cosmo Remix): Probably a good example of how remix must be done. I love both the original and the remix. Different style, for sure. But Both are so unique.
5. Love Child of the Century (2007)
Prayers: I love this song so much. When I first opened the album and listened the first track, I thought I was getting absorbed into the song. Unique and powerful melody with great lyrics. One of my top tracks in my life.
6. Robotica (2007)
Freedom: SO MUCH ENERGY! Gosh! I feel like Im' going to explode when I listen this song. Fun and fast sound with great vocal. My top song from this album for sure!
Prayers (Shinichi Osawa Remix) / Shinichi Osawa (Mondo Grosso): To be honest, when I first heard of this song, it was very annoying to me. There is literally no lyrics. But after hearing few time, I like the style a lot. It's like a totally new song!
Our Lives (FPM Hyper Society Mix) / Fantastic Plastic Machine: It's a remix from "생의 한가운데" in Love Child of the Century. The original is not bad. This remix makes the whole song is much faster beat with more electronic sound. I just love fast beat with electronic sound.
7. Mucho Punk (2009)
Kiss Kiss Kiss: Such a fun song! Upbeat with fun electronic sound.
Tell Yourself: My top song from the album. Horan + Alex combination is the best, and this song proves.
Lazy Sunday Morning: Very acoustic song from Clazziquai Project. This song make me want to lay down at the couch and just do nothing.
8. Mucho Beat (2009)
Spinning The World (Voice Remix): The top song from this album. The remix turned the okay song to the best. I love how DJ Clazzi remixes his songs.
Flea (Jojal Remix -Audition Grandprix-): So much intensity going on in this song. I just love how it feels.
9. Blessed (2013)
Blessed: Very lovely song.
Sweetest Name: My top song from the album. The sound is just so perfect. Ugh! I freaking love DJ Clazzi!
Like a Diamond: I love this song a lot. The sound and vocals are both so strong and harmonize so well. Keep repeating myself, Horan & Alex is a great combo.

Clazziquai Project: The start of electronica in South Korea
The genre “Electronica” means various electronic music designed for a wide range of uses, and when I first heard Clazziquai Project, the sound was very refreshing, yet charming since I never heard of this genre but I already liked it.
I learned Clazziquai Project from the song “Play Girl” inside of Samsung phones in early 2000s. At that time, these phones were too expensive and I was too young to have own device like these. However, I heard this song from my friend’s phone, and I instantly loved it.
With Clazziquai Project’s first album and its remix, they literally started the electronica genre in South Korea. Songs of the first album “Instant Pig” has been used as many commercial background music and soundtrack. Songs like “Stepping Out,” “Gentle Rain,” and “Sweety” were some of them and these helped Clazziquai Project to get some attention from people. In addition, Clazziquai Project received a lot of spotlight as two soundtracks, “Be My Love” and “She Is” from Korean TV show, My Lovely Samsoon, got really popular.
Even though they became quite popular, their music still rock. They have released five albums and four remixes so far. I personally love every single album they released. But if I have to pick few songs, I would encourage yo try out "Stepping Out" from Instant Pig, "Prayers" from Love Child of the Century, "After Love - Female ver." from ZBAM, and "Salesman" from Color Your Soul.

Album of the week: 'Are you handsome?' by Handsome people
Combination of three highly renowned artists make this album unique enough. These include the vocalist Tei, guitarist Joohyuk Um and Youngho Choi.
The title track 'Woowei woowei' shows how the album maximizes danceable beats and its distinctive stylish sound. The song's name expresses exclamation that breaks out when one meets an attractive person of opposite sex. Thus, the song has a very witty lyric giving off the vocalist Tei's charm.
Other songs including 'disco girl' and 'beautiful' will get you dance to the rhythmical music.

Forgiving bootlegged fans
Prince initially sued more than 20 people for illegally sharing his music and distributing bootlegged concerts. But recently, he dropped his $22 million lawsuit against them less than two weeks after deciding it.
Asked why about his abrupt change of heart, Prince said "nobody sues their fans. ...I have some bootlegs of Lianne but I wouldn't sell them. But fans sharing music with each other, that's cool."
As can be noticed, this artist seems to be deep in love with his fans and he also announced he's hoping to charge "about $10" for some of UK shows. (10-02-14)

Tracks of the day: 10-02-14
1. Tom Williams & The Boat - Hurricane
When thinking of the British indie rock or indie artists, we often associate them with the weather. Not too sure whether it's solely because of the stereotyped image of Britain but the image is still vivid in people's imagination.
But check this band out! Tom Williams & The Boat uses its track title to show that the British indie rock can deal with the extreme weather as the main theme. Williams is giving a poetic touch to the song and it's a blues-driven riff, meaning its fresh as the title says so.
2. Mo Kolours - Mike Black
For Mo Kolours, rhythm is a significant, quintessential part of the music. Half-English and half-Mauritian, he uses his innate Eastern rhythmic and puts percussive tick with soulful voice of his in it. Mike Black, check this song out now

Age of music subscription but with some criticisms
Throughout last year, downloaders were very much willing to subscribe. The figure of songs British streamed doubled and increased by 32% in the US. In the case of Pandora, the first nine months of fiscal year saw listeners hours increasing by 23%.
Although it is true that streaming service has gained lots of popularity over the course of the past few years, Spotify and Pandora are under criticisms from the artists who think they are not paid enough for their works. Thus, Spotify even went to create premium subscriptions and a website showing how its artists are being compensated for.
It is assumed that the continuity of CD's sales fall will last for a while as it fell 14.5% in the US last year which is an acceleration of 12.8% in 2012. (07-02-14)

Indie artists voice concern over Spotify
Some indie artists, including David Elfstrom Lilja the Swedish independent artist, have voiced concerns over the unfairness of Digster, Spotify's influential tastemaker list. They claim that Digster gives too much attention to the tracks from major labels. This phenomenon gets more problematic for a Swedish indie lable that earns almost all its income from Swedish fans as the streaming of Spotify accounts for approximately 70% of all revenue from recorded music.
Given that there are many smaller independent labels acting as greenhouses for emerging talent that's not mainstream enough to get signed by major labels and are operated on a skimpy budget, the concern is expected to last for a while. (07-02-14)

Streaming ascends while digital music sales drop
Interestingly but unusually, digital music sales fell 6% from last year and this is the first time since the iTunes store came into existence almost a decade ago according to the Billboard's year-end music report.
What was once considered as the most traditional way of measuring commercial success declined with CD sales down 14% and total albums sales down 8%. On the contrary, the bright spots were vinyl (up 33%) and streaming (up 32%).
It has become a social phenomenon that the number of likes on Spotify, Pandora and iHeartRadio is the indicator showing how the artist or music disseminates itself in the online world with more ways than ever to consume music.
David Bakula, Nielsen's SVP of Industry Insights said "despite shifts in how music is consumed, we see continued growth in overall music consumption." (06-02-14)
