Twitch Writing Streams
I have made a lot of changes since my last post. I’ve gotten several chapters into the second book of my Eternal Essence series and have decided to turn one of my free reads into a light novel and am currently working with @mintart (Instagram), who is such a talented artist. I absolutely love working with him he’s so sweet and patient and the art is always so good looking. I highly recommend him as he does commissions and I think his prices are reasonable.
I’ve also started making some life changes since then. I’m gonna try to come back to this platform and make sure I’m building up some content for those deigning to give me their follow or like a post.
On this same vein, I have a Twitch account by the name of Chocovixi where I try to stream my writing, edits and hopefully some viewer interactions as more people join in. I have high hopes for it and pulling in new readers and maybe even joining up with other writers to chat or maybe have some fun roleplaying with characters. I hope to eventually make it an active stream of readers and writers.
Just a little insight into what I’ve been doing writing wise. I’m not consistent, I never have been, but weather with me a bit and I’ll try my best to post as I can.

Chapter 10 is done!
I am finally done with chapter ten! This chapter really focuses on Keon and delving into him as a character and sort of his relationship with the new people in his life. I’ll share some dialogue I enjoyed writing in this chapter. It’s a first draft so who knows if this will remain until the end.
Irua hugged her memory board. “I know that this has been very hard for you to handle. You were spared a life in the circus but you could not return to what had become normal. Humans are at the center of everything you do and yet you don’t even remember what it means to be human because you never saw yourself as one nor were you treated as such. The situation you’re in now is calling on you to be something that you have never considered yourself to be.
“Honestly, I’m still wondering why you took up the queen’s offer to become her bodyguard. I’m sure she told you that you would be swearing loyalty to her and your life would revolve around her and nothing else. I see how upset you get when we point out your flaws but you have yet to reveal your true self to us. That is why your training has not helped you as of yet. Regardless, you need to bear a mark to be identified and be considered a true member of the queen’s court.”

While working on chapter ten I realized I do not have a mark planned out for the setting of the second book so here we are. I added some oomph to the marks of places already shown in book one. I’ll do a reveal for marks revealed in book two with some character art. That would be whenever I finish this draft at the earliest.

So many stories so little time
Firstly, yesterday marked my second year on Tumblr so yay!
*ahem* So, I’ve finally really started writing up chapter ten of my sequel to Invoke. That’s what I’m going to try to focus on from now on- getting through this first draft. At the same time, my other story based in the same world has given me the idea to introduce a character I’ve been wanting to use for a couple months now with no idea how to put him into the story. He’s from Quampo, and has an essence that involves controlling vibrations/soundwaves(still not 100 on that part). But I really want to use him.
Meanwhile, Starcrossed Part 2 and the character interviews are nagging to be finished/continued. From the depths comes another story I was originally writing as fanfiction for Yowamushi Pedal. After recently watching a sports anime based on a book I absolutely love for what it is and want to read, I’m now thinking about bringing it back up as a story all on it’s own. Though it was gonna be a YowaPeda fanfic it was an inline skating club where the captain and two managers would be trying to get up enough members to compete in an inline skating competition. If I could just make it comic, I would...
I have too many story ideas and it’s hard to focus on one. I’ll try to keep on my main series. Book 2 is supposed to be longer than Invoke. I already have a title and a cover in mind. If only I could sit down and write it! Wish me luck with this task I had made harder than it has to be.

Hot Summer Musings
So, amid writing and trying to regain my footing in my stories, I question the path of becoming a professional writer known a the author. I mean, we spend years writing this one book we love while trying to gain support for it in hopes that enough people care enough to buy it once it’s finally published, whichever trying route we decide to go with (tradition or self).
The thing is, writer’s seem to be mostly introverts, so we don’t always do well when it comes to marketing on that behalf. We aren’t good at putting ourselves out there. So much time and energy is put into this 200+ page novel only to flop because we couldn’t get it out there quite right. It’s far more than that which makes this a difficult path but if you know, you know.
I think there is a solution to this and it’s been bothering me for months now. It isn’t guaranteed but...We’ll never know until we try, right?

Interview Series Ep. 9
Hello, hello all! Welcome back to our interview series. I apologize for falling behind on this project. It has been a really long time since I uploaded one of these hasn’t it? Don’t worry, I will have a few more typed up by the time I post this. Now! Last time with Vincent I said that we would be going between Starcrossed and Origins characters so this time we will be interviewing a character from my Origins Story. There are links to the chapters located here so you can check them out if these characters peak your interest. Without further adieu, we will ask our guest to introduce himself.
Kain: I thought you were gonna keep ignoring me for a while. Um, I’m Kain Ward. I live alone in the city and I do odd jobs here and there around the city.
What type of odd jobs? You were home most of the time when Paili was there in the story.
Kain: I’m pretty handy at most things like repairs, cleaning, running errands and sometimes helping local businesses if they’re short handed. Depending on how long I help out or what the job is I quote my own price or accept their offer. I was working a lot since it was winter so I had money saved up when I took in Paili.
I just have to ask... If Yali had not been there, would you have taken Paili in?
Kain: *rubs face thoughtfully* Uuhh... Honestly, I don’t think so. I didn’t even want to be involved in the first place. I was still young, working, agile- I did not want to be burdened by Yali’s need to be a good person. But she was and I wasn’t gonna throw anyone out once they were inside.
How did you come to meet Quinn?
Kain: We grew up together. That’s all. He’s a gentle giant, I’m a useless handyman. He’s my best friend and they only person I can trust to be honest with me. We met in school and he clung to me for whatever reason. *scratches his head nervously*
I get the feeling you aren’t telling us everything but that’s okay. I won’t push anything, I would like to know though, why didn’t you go to work at the bar with him?
Kain: He offered but I wanted to travel. I was gone, travelling around the kingdom for a year and then I came back to Matchtal and started doing odd jobs.
You didn’t want to work with your best friend?
Kain: You see, while I was gone, I learned a lot about the world and the different situations people find themselves in. They had jobs then they were fired, their buildings burned down or they lost everything in a raid. My situation while I was travelling was that I was working odd jobs to have a place to stay then moving on when I had enough money. When I finally went back to Matchtal, I knew I didn’t want to be tied down. I had learned skills and wanted to make a living using my skills. I still help out at the bar, of course, but I couldn’t only work there.
As someone who didn't look twice at children before, what was it like taking care of a little girl?
Kain: Exhausting. *chuckles* I mean, you’ve seen what she put me through. I had to walk through a snowstorm to find her in the middle of the night.
You went out there because you cared about her.
Kain: Of course. After nursing her while sick and buying clothes for her to wear of course I’m going to try to keep her safe. At that point I was too far gone. She was so fragile then... It didn’t happen quickly, but I fell in love with those eyes of hers. I really wanted to protect her and I hate that I couldn’t sometimes. She got stronger though so I don’t have to worry so much now.
Do you and Yali consider yourselves to be co-parents or...?
Kain: I-I... I mean... We are cooperatively parenting Paili. She lives with Yali now and I can’t really visit so we send letters. Lately I’ve been thinking that she isn’t someone I should worry over. She seems happier with Yali. When I asked Quinn about it, he said Paili’s both of our responsibility. She calls me dad and Yali mom so. *shrugs* I’ll take it.
Does this mean one day you’ll be tying the knot? Getting married?
Kain: Absolutely not! I could never tie myself to that woman. We already tried the relationship thing and it did not pan out. We’re fine with things the way they are.
Aww. I was hoping you’d say something to give us all hope. Could I ask you how things have been since Paili went to Sela with Yali?
Kain: I’ve got my house back and I’m going to work again. Things are back to normal. Except for her little friend bugging me about letters. Him and Quinn, actually. They ask me about her letters all the time. Cylus brings me letters to send and money for stamps so he can talk to her too. I asked why we don’t just sit down and write one big letter together but he wants his own letter to send to her. After all these years I have never seen one of those letters. I have no idea what they talk about and I don’t like it.
That’s absolutely adorable. Alright for the last question, would you mind leaving an encouraging message for those reading this post? It can be about anything as long as it’s family friendly.
Kain: Alright. I'll share something Quinn told me once. Live your life with no regrets. Make the hard choices because you’ll only have that one chance to make it. Life is risk and reward.
Quinn is a good guy, huh?
Kain: He’s too good of a guy. I wonder why he still puts up with me hanging around.
He’s a real friend that’s why. With that we conclude our interview with the ever popular Kain Ward.
Kain: If you read the story you’ll know she’s lying.
Thank you so much for joining us today! You know the drill ten questions here, my Twitter @AVGoar or Wattpad AVGWriter and Kain will come back to answer them. Again, I promise to have another interview ready to share next week. It bounces back to Starcrossed so I hope you’ll come back by to meet them. See you all next time!

I don’t talk much and can’t carry a conversation but if you can get me talking, like just going off, I really like that.
Good conversation turns me on. A connection between two people, a mental one first.

Fight scene (WIP) in New Project
I wrote up this scene thinking starting with action might be a good idea. I like it but this is a first draft so who know if it’ll survive the final product.
Currently a match was being held to weed out the next wave. A girl stood in the ring, a spear clenched tightly in her delicate fist as she stared down her opponent. Her eyes were clear and focused. Her hair was back in four large puffs, allowing the occasional breeze to cool her scalp and push about the two braids on either side of her soft brown face. Sweat trickled down her arm. She wore training armor over her torso and chest. It was light but still hot.
Her opponent, a boy who seemed to be smirking, was pouring sweat. He wore a headband but it didn’t do much. The sun was unforgiving that day of all days. Yet, despite the heat and hid opponent he was smirking. The girls and boys were never separated so any girl still present had to be strong. This one in particular, Mahla, was the strongest out of all the girls still remaining.
“What is he smiling about?” Asi whispered to Ifumi. “Is he an idiot?”
“Probably,” he replied. “He’s likely trying to get her riled up so she’ll make a mistake.”
Asi made a face. “We have all seen Mahla’s matchups. That never works.”
“It didn’t work for him but I won’t make the same mistake. That’s what he’s thinking.”
Their teacher paced the edge of the match area. He was tall, dark skinned and his hair kept short like most of the boys’. “This match determines who will be staying in my class or who leaves. If you wish it you can crawl your way back up from the first class all over again. Your opponent will be long gone by then so if that is your choice, don’t let revenge be your motivation. Rematches can happen at any time as long as a teacher is present. Regardless of the outcome, your roles will not be switched. This is your one chance. Take this seriously, Naku.”
“Yes sir.”
“You have five minutes to pin your opponent or render them unable to fight. Hand to hand is allowed if you are disarmed.” He stopped pacing and raised his arm. “Respect each other, respect the match. Five minutes. Begin!” He swung his arm down and backed away just as Mahla sprinted forward.
Naku, stepped back and extended his spear, just missing her side step and swinging it to make up for the loss but she dove underneath it and vaulted over his head with the butt of her spear. He spun around to meet her hand as it shoved into his chin tossing backwards. He scrambled to his feet, the annoying smirk transferred from his face to hers.
She thrusted her spear towards him. He caught it in his hand and pulled hard, making her come closer before once again thrusting his spear’s blade toward her chest. She brought her arm up and knocked it off course then grabbed it with her other, snatching it from his grasp. They effectively swapped weapons.
Mahla went in straight next time, thrusting toward him over and over. He was only able to defend as she got closer and closer. She jabbed at his face from the right once, just missing, and he leaned to the left to avoid it. From there Mahla dropped to one knee and slid forward, switching her spear into her left hand and smacked his left ankle hard to bring him down. Naku dropped his spear and grabbed his ankle. Mahla descended on him without hesitation and dropped her knee in his chest and put the tip of her spear to his throat.
Naku glared up at her. She smiled back at him. The teacher approached and separated them. “It’s Mahla’s win! She will move on to the next semester.”
“She was playing with him,” Asi said. “I don’t think she’s ever been serious with anyone.”
“She’s serious with me.” Ifumi said blatantly.
“Keep telling yourself that.”

My new characters from another story I intend to publish. The artist this time is kapi_workshop on Instagram. He drew them as teenagers and adults. They look so cute as teenagers but super cool as adults. Ifumi aged well, didn’t he? I’m starting on this story today and continuing book 2(I had 9 chapters typed out already!) so I’ll be able to get more content on here soon!

New WIP
I just wanted to share some of the character building I’ve been doing today on a WIP that also came to me today. I still have no idea what the actual plot it but I know it takes place in my main book’s world, it’s prior to the story line and may or may not venture into things that won’t be revealed until much later.
It’s based in a kingdom that draws some influence from African culture( note “some”) but also other cultures. Here are some of the essence abilities I came up with so far.
Asi: His essence makes him immune to fatigue for up to an hour but he will sleep an entire day (24hrs) afterwards.
Ifumi: He can connect with lingering essence on objects from people who have passed. In plainest terms, he can connect with and see ghosts. He gets massive migraines when he uses it for longer than thirty minutes and can only hold a connection for about ten minutes at a time.
There are five characters once again with three boys this time. I’m hoping to keep this one to 12 chapters which may mean they will be long chapters. We’ll have to see.

Interview Series Ep.8
Hello all! We are back! To be honest, I didn't think I would do an interview this week but Wednesday moved on without me and I didn't write anything, I started to feel guilty. So, here's the game plan, we're going to start mixing things up. We will be mixing Star Crossed interviews with Origin interviews. If you don't know either of those stories, check out my Wattpad or FictionPress(LitVix) to find out. So, today, we're interviewing our starter for StarCrossed. If you would, please tell us a little about yourself.
Vincent: Um, hi, my name's Vincent. Uh, Vincent Ronald. I used to put together systems for cruisers and robots and did some light repair work on broken machines. I know my way around machines to say the least. Video games are where I'd prefer to spend my time although I don't have time for anything recently.
What's keeping you away from your games now?
Vincent: (sighs heavily and wipes a hand over his face) The situation I find myself in is...less than desirable. I can't relax anymore. I'm too busy worrying over the bounty on my head. On top of that I'm stuck on a warship with the type of people I have been avoiding all my life. I still can't believe how we've managed to get together.
Would you say you're more of a homebody?
Vincent: Yes. Before Raenya, I never left my house. I could order anything and have it sent right to my couch through a teleportal. There was no reason to go outside.
I'd love something like that right about now. Well, how did you meet Raenya?
Vincent: I went outside.
I'm sorry.
Vincent: Please. No one feels sorry for me. Everyone around me treats me like I'm overreacting. Yua is the one person who doesn't and I haven't been spending much time with her either.
Aw. But you have someone you can talk tech with now.
Vincent: Yeah, Holie. She's an engineer and pretty good at it too. It's sort of fun spending time with her but it's also a little weird since she's so much younger than me.
You're just friends, there's nothing wrong with that. You don't seem the type to have ulterior motives for anyone.
Vincent: That's true. Besides, Pyper would flatten anyone who'd hurt a hair on her head.
Tell me, have you had any romantic interest in anyone on your journey so far?
Vincent: (blushes) I don't have time for relationships! I have a bounty on my head and hundreds of bounty hunters who want it. My priorities are completely in order!
What about after everything's settled?
Vincent: (shrugs) I'll go back to being a recluse. It's all I'm good for anyways. No woman in her right mind would want me. I mean, I obviously can't protect her or myself. I can't keep a job or roof over my own head. I'm living on a warship with six other people!
You're pretty hard on yourself. Why? You can make machines. I'd think you were a person in demand.
Vincent: (laces his finger and clenches his hands) My father was the really talented one. He worked for high end companies one after the other bringing all kinds of machines to life. Everybody he worked with could see it as soon as he walked into the room. One of the companies he worked for was owned by a gang and when they weren't satisfied with his work it was all over. They said they lost a lot of money due to a machine he worked on failing. No one would hire him knowing he was on their bad side. After a whole year of being ignored and avoided he just disappeared from my mother's life. I didn't come into the picture until a couple months later. I never even knew him but once my mom told me that I hated him. And then I started working and my name got around. The gangsters wanted back the money they had lost on his failure. That's how I met Raenya.
So, you still resent your father for that?
Vincent: Of course! He's the reason I'm stuck in this mess I'm in now! And I don't wanna talk about it. (Rubs his forehead agitatedly)
Of course. Let's move on! Do you mind telling us about your relationship with the other people on board your ship?
Vincent; (sighs heavily) I'm not exactly close with any of them. Raenya's the one that dragged me into this mess. Gyllinger was the first bounty hunter to catch us- really, there's nothing to tell.
Aww, you can't tell me you don't feel anything for any of them. You guys risked your lives for each other more than once. That has to count for something.
Vincent: I'd trust them more or less with my life, yes, but that doesn't mean we're all buddy-buddy on the ship. We're adults- we're not gonna become best friends just because we almost died together once or twice. That's called trauma bonding and it isn't healthy.
You're not giving me much to work with other than your daddy issues you're not gonna talk about.
Vincent: What were you expecting? I keep to myself and mind my own business. The only person I can freely talk to is Yua. She's the only one on that ship I can really trust.
What is so hard about admitting you like having people around you sometimes?
Vincent: Because... I wouldn't say something corny like that to anyone. Not even you. It's not terrible being stuck with them but I do like to spend time with Yua just talking more than anything.
Alright, I've pestered you enough. One last request before we send off. Can you give us a parting message of encouragement?
Vincent: (scratches his head nervously) Ahh... Don't ever let someone else make you feel bad for being true to yourself. (looks at interviewer, nodding awkwardly)
Oh! Um, thank you for that very encouraging message. That concludes our interview with Vincent Ronald! If you would like to see him return then drop ten questions here or on my Wattpad, AVGWriter. Remember, at least five questions will have him return with another character. Stay safe and stay healthy! See you all next time!
