the red kryptonite episode was made for clark and lex shippers.

lex listens to clark go on about how there’s nothing left for him in smallville. and if there’s no reason for clark to say then there’s no reason for lex to either. but lex knows this isn’t right. that something’s wrong. the clark he loves would never want to leave behind his friends and family. lex knows he needs to stop him. but before he can go run off to talk to mr. kent, he indulges himself in the idea. lex tells clark to move into his metropolis penthouse with him. that lex has needs to tie off some loose ends and then they could leave together. he knows it won’t happen, but he’ll let himself pretend, even if it’s just for a moment, that him and clark will run away together.

Well, unsurprisingly, KOSA passed the Senate procedural vote 86-1.

Proof:

Again, they still have to vote on the final passage & the House still has to vote on it as well.

So, focus on your House Representative now; Continue to call them & tell them to vote ‘No’ to KOSA. Remember: There is more opposition to KOSA in the House.

The problem with modern science fiction is that soooo much of it is built around the concept that technology is inherently evil, isolating, and brain numbing. You can see these themes as far back as the 1940s-1960s with telephones, radios, typewriters, etc. Hell, I bet it dates back to the Victorian era and the creation of the genre. Horror stories predate sci-fi so it could go all the way back to the invention of movable type. But the thing is, instead of “smart phones will turn us into mindless drones,” we could he exploring really cool themes. Like, the Mars Rover sings to itself. So, why is there no post human extinction book about the very last surviving robot who’s terrified because it is left all alone and comforts itself by singing to itself? Why are we not telling more stories about a society where we automatically accommodate the disabled with cool cyberpunk style accessibility tools, artificial limbs, etc. I don’t want more fictional stories about people dying because they can’t afford water or medication in the post apocalyptic society since that’s already happening right now. I want a futuristic mystery where the hero uses social media to track down and stop the killer/protect potential victims. *sigh* rant over.
