Virat Kohli’s thoughts
Virat Kohli, on his approach to becoming the 12th Indian player to play 100 Tests, says he “never dreamed” he’d go this far and participate in such a historic match. Kohli has gone a long way in a decade, earning 7962 runs at a terrific average of 50.39 in the longest format after scoring only 4 and 15 in his maiden Test against the West Indies in 2011. On Friday, Kohli will play his 100th Test match against Sri Lanka. “Never in my wildest dreams could I envisage myself taking part in 100 Test matches. It’s been a long and winding road. Throughout those 100 Test matches, we played a lot of cricket.” In a YouTube video, Kohli made the assertion.

If you haven’t heard of this incredible man yet, now is the time to do so. In terms of Kohli’s international career, the Delhi-born cricketer debuted for Team India in August 2008, only months after leading India to the U19 World Cup triumph. Kohli had to make the most of his opportunities in the Indian batting line, which included Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, and MS Dhoni. He rose to the occasion and quickly established himself as an important member of the Indian squad.

Top 10 Of Scott Morrison’s Greatest Achievements
It is a no-brainer for every man that Scott Morrison is calling the shots for The Lodge these days as we all know him to be the current prime minister of Australia. He replaced his party colleague, Malcolm Turnball, and became the 30th prime minister of Australia in 2018. It was a truly triumphant moment for him as he was contesting against two candidates of a much larger public persona.
Tumblr media
Scott Morrison has reached the pinnacle of his political career, and it must not have been an easy journey for him. He must have crossed a lot of hurdles to come this far. If we want to comprehend who he truly is, we should be going through his entire political voyage. We must look through all the vicissitudes of his life to date.
Here’s a brief account of what Scott Morrison has achieved to date.
1. Morrison Is An Alumnus Of The University of New South Wales
Scott Morrison has been an erudite and diligent student throughout his life. His educational accolades speak volumes about his desire to make a difference in the world. He was born in Sydney, which is by far one of the most important cities of Australia, and he chose the University of New South Wales to complete his education with a finesse. He got a BSC Hons in economic geography from the respective university.
2. Morrison Has Been The Director Of The New Zealand Office Of Tourism And Sports
Morrison had proved his mettle in various fields and not just politics. Before entering into parliamentary politics, he had been indulged in managerial work of a particular nature. He seems to be a pro at tourism as he served as the director of the New Zealand office of tourism and sports for about 2 years.
3. Morrison Has Been The Managing Director of Tourism Australia
Morrison has worked as the Managing director of Tourism Australia for a limited period. He chose to give some more time to the field of tourism. Therefore, after bidding farewell to the New Zealand office of Sports and tourism, he joined Tourism Australia as the managing director and stayed glued to this organization for almost 2 years — the same amount of time he dedicated to his prior designation.
4. Morrison Got Elected As A Member Of The House Of Representatives In 2007
He began his political career in 2007, to be exact. He had been associated with the Liberal Party long before that, but this was the point when he received acknowledgement for his adherence to The Liberal Party. This was his time to embark on the long-standing political journey he is still a part of. To be concise, this was the very first chapter of his political saga.

5. Morrison Took Care Of The Ministry Of Immigration And Sovereign Borders In Abbott’s Cabinet
Morrison has been a minister in the Liberal party’s government more than once. One of his greatest achievements till date is his tenure as the immigration minister because he had made a handful of changes which remain noteworthy till date. He was not a passive sort of minister when he was at the helm of immigration affairs, and it is quite an open secret. His endeavours as the immigration and sovereign borders minister were on everyone’s lips those days.

Preventing Prostate Cancer – Dietary factors
The role of diet in preventing prostate cancer.  Cancer of the prostate mainly affects older men. There are evidence showing that there is a genetic predisposition to the emergence of prostate cancer. Men, whose relatives suffered from prostate cancer, have a greater risk of developing the disease.
Tumblr media
Prostate cancer is the third most frequent cancer occurring in men, and the sixth in causing death from cancer. The highest incidence of prostate cancer has been reported to be in North America and Northern Europe. The disease rarely occurs in Japan, China and Central America. The risk of prostate cancer increases 3 to 7 times in people from the eastern continent, who moved to countries which are reported to have a high incidence of prostate cancer. Scientists blamed the ‘western diet’ (the use of high-calorie food such as animal fats, poor dietary fibres and fewer vegetables and fruits) as one of the causes of prostate cancer.

Studies show that consumption of fatty food increases the risk of developing prostate cancer. Catering to low-fat food protects people against prostate cancer and the progression of the disease.
The Role of Diet in Preventing Prostate Cancer
Lycopene – a red carotenoid pigment found in tomato, watermelon and pink grapefruit is widely known in the Western countries as ‘a substance necessary for a healthy prostate’. Lycopene functions as an antioxidant, which neutralizes free radicals and thereby protecting the cell from cancer transformation, reducing the rate of tumor growth.
Polyphenols (catechin) found in green tea and soy products reduce pathological cell division and contribute to apoptosis of cancer cells.

Top 10 of Scott Morrison’s Controversial Moments
Scott Morrison is the current premier of Australia, and he is widely known as the “conservative pragmatist” of Australia’s Liberal Party. Despite taking a conservative stance more so often, he somehow manages to retain his position within the Liberal Party.
Tumblr media
Scott has never been a below-the-radar political personality, he has always expressed himself more clearly and perspicuously. He does not choose expedience over his instinct; he always reveals what concerns him. And, that makes him a politician of multiple shades.
Scott has not been a monotonous personality. He has had his share of controversies. At times, he has been the centre of attention for saying something that tends to create a squabble. Needless to say, it is quite common for a politician to have a good deal of controversial moments.
Here’s the list of deeds that brought trouble to Scott Morrison:
It is a no-brainer that Morrison replaced Malcolm Turnball to become the prime minister of Australia. Most people liked the fact that he made Dutton bite the dust in re-election, but does it imply that he had no contribution in overthrowing Turnball’s government? Well, it’s not as simple as it looks.
Initially, it wasn’t Morrison but Peter Dutton who openly challenged Turnball’s position, it wasn’t Dutton who made Turnball’s life miserable despite being a part of his cabinet. Still, Turnball raised a buttload of questions on Morrison’s integrity as Australia’s prime minister. Turnball firmly believes Morrison was covertly conspiring against him.
When one of his colleagues disapproved same-sex marriage in the parliament, Morrison stood by her side and continued to defend the vexed remarks given by her. As we all know that Morrison adheres to the conservative values of Australia, he cannot see eye to eye with the idea of same-sex marriage. Like all other conservatives, he believes that marriage is a pious bond that can happen between people of the opposite sex.
When he rooted for anti-gay marriage remarks given by his colleague, Gladys Lui, it invited a lot of criticism for him. He had to take it all with a pinch of salt as he had no ambition for rebutting the statement that he made in the first place.
Also see: Top 10 of Peter Dutton’s Controversial Moments
Morrison came up with the term “negative globalism” in the first place. He urged all other nations that, according to him, are as sovereign as Australia to reconsider the policies adhering to globalism. He seems to be sternly against internationalism. This statement was largely criticized and despised by people from all corners of the world. Of course, there would be some people agreeing with him on this fallacious statement, but it drew a great deal of castigation too — hence, controversial.
Scott Morrison has been in dispute with China on so many levels. Once, he even doubted if China is actually a developed country. Chinese customs might not go hand in hand with the Australian or Western customs, but does it give anyone the right to question China’s status as a developed or a first-world nation? This statement made by him stirred a whole new debate that didn’t do any good to Morrison’s persona. The statement was a bit unnecessary and could have been avoided at best.
The most significant controversy of his entire political career has been his absence at The Lodge when Australia was enduring a mammoth crisis. When the bushfire took place, Morrison was allegedly vacationing in Hawaii with his wife and two daughters. This was perhaps the greatest setback of his political career as he was, by and large, disgusted over this negligence.

List of Double Centuries In ODI
Playing a cricket century in a match is a big deal for every player. Achieving a double century is an even more monumental event. Whenever a cricketer scores a century or a double for that matter, it is considered to be a hallmark moment for a batter and will forever be immortalized in their career statistics.
Tumblr media
Centuries occur whenever a cricket player (batter) manages to score a hundred runs or more in a single inning during a match. The whole concept of a century wasn’t prevalent until the tail end of the 19th century when it was becoming an anticipated play. Nonetheless, the earliest known century played was in 1767. During a small match, cricketer John Minshull managed to score 107 runs thereby becoming the first recognized century to be played in a cricket game.
It wasn’t until six years after the first century was made that a cricketer in a top-class match named John Small managed to score his own century with 136 runs. Players for other cricket formats however weren’t as unlucky because runs that qualified as a century or a double didn’t reoccur until the 1800s and onwards. Looking back it was clear that it was such a rarity for even a top player to achieve this feat, even rarer to encounter players that managed to get a double century. For this reason, the accomplishment is truly something worth celebrating and recording for future cricket-playing generations to take inspiration from.

When it comes to the ODI cricket format, getting on the One Day International’s list of cricketers is a dream for a lot of players. Even though getting on the list is challenging, it has not discouraged cricket athletes from wanting to conquer a double-century milestone. Aside from setting it as a goal, attaining a double century requires a lot of skill, patience, energy, endurance, and incredible strength. Currently, there are only a total of eight cricketers who have succeeded in appearing in the Double Century List for the ODI format.
Out of those eight players, only one cricketer has managed to record a double century to his name. Cricketer Rohit Sharma managed to score a double century not just one time, but three times so far. His achievements are currently unmatched but this does not mean that the other seven cricketers are not just as worthy of recognition. Besides Sharma, there are several men and women cricket stars who have gotten a spot in this distinguished spot. These are the cricket sports stars who have scored 200 runs in their ODI matches.
List of ODI Cricket Players with Double Centuries
 Superstar captain Belinda Clark
Former Australian national women’s cricket team captain, and international cricketer Belinda is one of the fortunate players to have made her mark in the cricketing world. This talented sportswoman scored a double century that has surprised fans and fellow players. Her amazing 229 runs in a game against Denmark in 1997 have earned the admiration of many. This role model to many aspiring young cricketers was instrumental in many matches won by the national team throughout her 14-year professional participation.
Striking while it’s hot with Chris Gayle
Jamaican native Chris Gayle’s record 200 run or more popularly known as the highly coveted double century was a result of his energetic and explosive performance in the ICC World Cup. Regarded as one of the best batsmen in the history of Twenty20 matches, Gayle is in fact a top-notch ODI player who has a 146.25 strike hit. Like many cricketers, he was able to achieve his centurion dreams, and at the same time becoming a record holder as one of the select number of cricketers to have gotten an impressive ODI score.
Martin Guptil
An opening batsman for the New Zealand international cricket team, Martin played one of his best games. This monumental game against a West Indies team in 2015 led to him batting at the opening and scoring with 163 balls, a total of 237 runs. This kiwi batsman executed a spectacular 145.39 strike rate which is a leading score in the quarter-finals of the World Cup. At the moment, Martin’s double century win has him as the second-highest recorded ODI player.

With the help of this blog, you will be guided on how to oil your cricket bats to preserve their coating, improve their longevity, and prevent them from splitting open. This blog will also help you to save money because oiling a cricket bat is actually simple. The process of oiling might be lengthy and time-consuming, at least you do not need to spend your money to have someone oil your cricket bats for you!
What Kind of Oil Do you Have to Use in Oiling Your Cricket Bat?
Linseed oil is commonly used in furnishing furniture and so this applies to your cricket bats as well. Linseed oil is a kind of oil that contains the nutrients in keeping the cricket bat’s fibers intact and prevent them from drying out, causing cracks.
Specifically, only raw linseed oil is usually used in oiling cricket bats, but linseed oil from the crafts store can work just the same and can still guarantee the same results as the raw linseed oil.
How to Oil Your Cricket Bat?
1. Application of the linseed oil. Apply about 2-3 drops of the raw linseed oil over the face of the bat. With the help of an old rag, or your finger would suffice just as well, whichever you prefer, spread the oil all over the face of the bat, along its edges, its heel, and the edges of the bat as well. Spread it all over the said parts EXCEPT for the splice and the labels. Save at least a centimeter allowance from the splice to ensure that the linseed oil does not drip on it.

How to Play Book Cricket?
Tumblr media
Cricket is quite a peculiar game amongst all the other sports in the world. It is the second most loved sport in the world, following soccer as it has attracted a bountiful of fans over the years. Even in the psychological aspect, cricket is regarded as unique as it affects the way you think and act to deliver results. While the game is played in teams, it is virtually wholly reliant on individual performance because about 90% don’t participate in the sport, physically.
Cricket is a sport that takes one’s time, opportunity, frequent risk of disaster, and possesses the ability to cause despair to its participant. All these attributes make cricket an unmatched sport, with over a century of existence. The game requires one to survive every delivery driven at almost a hundred miles per hour. This is only possible if the player is involved both physically and mentally (as it takes a clear mindset to partake in the game).
As complex as cricket is, many people would like to take part in the sport. However, not everyone was built for the pitch. With this reason in mind, book cricket emerged. This game ensures that the players participate in the sport, away from the pitch, but produce similar results with a more exciting experience. In this article, we discuss book cricket and everything that the sport entails. Read on to find out more.
What is Book Cricket?
While the cricket sport is played in the outdoors, on the pitch, book cricket is an indoor game. It is similar to the conventional version of the sport but it applies various rules that make the game enjoyable. An indoor game without special guidelines makes it chaotic and disorganized. Luckily today, we can take you through the steps and everything that the game entails to make you well-accustomed to it.
How is Book Cricket Played?
As mentioned, book cricket is the replication of the cricket game played in the outdoors just that this one is played indoors. Since it’s similar to traditional cricket, book cricket presents the same excitement you get from the outdoor sport.
Also See: How Many Innings in Cricket?
Most Asian countries enjoy watching cricket and would wish to be part of the excitement. However, playing physically is usually limited to talent, experience, and strategy in cricket. That is where book cricket comes in. It is mainly popular among Asians and some cricket-playing countries as a pastime and brain-challenging indoor sport. Here, you have the freedom to select the number of players, unlike the outdoor one. What’s more, to play book cricket, you don’t necessarily require as much paraphernalia as they are needed for conventional cricket. This makes the game simple and easily playable by the parties interested in the sport.
The Must-haves of Book Cricket
1.  For starters, you need to have a book that contains plenty of pages.
2.  Then, a pen and paper
3.  With the above requirements, you need to have at least two players who are determined to play the game and join in the fun.
The Guidelines to Book Cricket
Every game requires rules to be successful and both parties to feel at ease. Book cricket is no different. Here are the rules of the game that you need to adhere to so that your game is more enjoyable than it is competitive.

What is Wasp in Cricket?
When it comes to cricket, it symbolizes Winning and Score Predictor (or WASP for short). It’s one statistical approach that was first used to predict the outcomes of games in 2012.
Tumblr media
What is a wasp in Cricket? Yes, we have to say “wasps” rather than “wasps.” This is an alternative approach that was first used to predict the outcomes of games in 2012. The book focused on solving the issue of uncertainty of the test series with the help of past performances of players and groups which are recognized as “wasps”.
A few years later, when a more advanced version was developed, it was called WASP In Cricket (WIC), and this time, it can predict the outcomes of Test and ODI games also.
If you are a sports gambler, the WASP is the number one tool for analyzing a match. This article assumes that readers are familiar with cricket, and it would be helpful if you have some knowledge about how cricket betting odds work.
T20, as well as ODI tournaments, can both benefit from this technique. WASP comprises two modules. The first module forecasts the match-winning chances (MWC) of the side about to bat and the second module predicts the score of the first innings of the match following MWC.
Also See: Why Do Cricketers Wear White?
WASP is the Universal Grading tool available for all Cricket Leagues in the world. The Wasp in Cricket is a predictive algorithm that analyzes records to determine the score of the side batting first and makes a prediction on the winning chances of the chasing team. WASP also can be defined as a cricket-analysis tool that predicts the match scores of T20 and ODI cricket games based on a linear regression model.
Founding Fathers
The WASP algorithm was first developed in 2006 to predict domestic cricket games and it was designed, implemented, and evaluated by Scott Brooker with Seamus Hogan. Since 2006, they’ve been using data from T20 as well as ODI matches to develop the WASP technique. The first predictions based on WASP were made in 2005 when it was still in development. “The WASP program originally was developed to predict wickets for international matches but we extended it into the white-ball formats as well,” said the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) head of cricket operations, Angus Fraser, in an article in January.
Elements of Primary Concern
Two important aspects are calculated and predicted by WASP:
1. The rating of something like the batting initial team based upon their players, previous records, plus match site information.
2. Foretelling a match’s outcome based on its venue and the sides’ previous records.
How Does It Work?
WASP also takes into account batting conditions but also ground history, two variables that change with each new ball thrown throughout a match. Further, than simply estimating a score depending on the present run rate, this tool takes it a step farther. To forecast the score, it meticulously examines previous records.
