So I have a serious obsession with FitAID.
When I started training in Krav Maga a little over a year ago, I was given a free can of FitAID when I signed up for the gym. It was fizzy and tasted like grapefruit and after the first couple sips.. really grew on me.
So the next time I was at the gym.. I grabbed one on my way out. And again the next day. And the next.
I wasn’t addicted or anything, it just seemed like a good idea. Hard work out = recovery drink. There is no protein or caffeine (something I mostly stay away from) and never really seemed like it could be a terrible idea to drink… so I just kept buying them. Every day. For about 2 months.
Then one week… I just didn’t. I either forgot or I was in a rush or I just didn’t have the money.. I don’t remember. But I do remember it was about a week. I went a week without FitAID.
AND I FELT LIKE SHIT.
It’s wasn’t that I was suddenly sick or anything. I had been training for about 4 hours a day for nearly two months straight and sure, there was occasional soreness, but nothing I couldn’t handle. And then suddenly.. it was unbearable.
I went for massages. I went to the chiropractor. I couldn’t figure out why suddenly every muscle in my body hurt. I got headaches. My back hurt. I experienced seasonal allergies for the first time in my life. I was exhausted.
Then I dragged myself to the gym again. After about a week and a half. I was tired but I went anyway. I worked out, but didn’t really push myself. And on the way out.. I grabbed a FitAID.
And again the next day. And the next.
And I started feeling like me again. I was punching harder. Running longer. I had my endurance back. The simple exercises weren’t as exhausting as they were the week before and I was energized about fighting again.
At first I figured maybe I’d had a cold or or the flu or something, or maybe it was just me finally getting allergies. But then I realised… it was the FitAID. I stopped drinking it.
I’m not saying this is some kind of miracle drink that will turn you into a super hero (though it sure feels like it sometimes) but it WILL help you access the best parts of yourself. It will make you feel more you that you’ve ever felt before.
I’m a believer.

Its #tranformationtuesday After I had Nash I felt like a beached whale. I started my fitness journey a year after I had him. Yes it took me a while to get my butt in gear. I lost almost 30 pounds doing beach body programs. Now I gained about 15 pounds in muscle. As of a year ago I stopped doing beachbody and started my own programs after I became a personal trainer. I've toned up a lot and it took me 4 years to get to where I am. It takes a lot of time and dedication to reach goals. I've learned a lot and put out so many blood, sweat and tears. I couldn't have done it without my support group.
