my interpretation of swansea's wife:
her name is paloma. she's spanish because i heard swansea makes a mean paella and i like to headcanon that he learned how to do that specifically to try and win her heart (spoilers: it worked). i wanted her to give ms. frizzle vibes from the magic school bus series. she likes wearing different cute earrings and is just a funny, quirky auntie. she copes with things with humor. swansea is a softie with her and a total pushover. also she and swansea's dog is a yorkshire terrier named pío. he's a rescue who's missing an eye but that doesn't stop him from doing crimes.

Show, don’t tell
"Show, don’t tell" means letting readers experience a story through actions, senses, and dialogue instead of outright explaining things. Here are some practical tips to achieve that:
1. Use Sensory Details
Tell: "The room was cold."
Show: "Her breath puffed in faint clouds, and she shivered as frost clung to the edges of the window."
Tell: "He was scared."
Show: "His hands trembled, and his heart thudded so loudly he was sure they could hear it too."
2. Focus on Actions
Tell: "She was angry."
Show: "She slammed the mug onto the counter, coffee sloshing over the rim as her jaw clenched."
Tell: "He was exhausted."
Show: "He stumbled through the door, collapsing onto the couch without even bothering to remove his shoes."
3. Use Dialogue
What characters say and how they say it can reveal their emotions, intentions, or traits.
Tell: "She was worried about the storm."
Show: "Do you think it'll reach us?" she asked, her voice tight, her fingers twisting the hem of her shirt.
4. Show Internal Conflict Through Thoughts or Reactions
Tell: "He was jealous of his friend."
Show: "As his friend held up the trophy, he forced a smile, swallowing the bitter lump rising in his throat."
5. Describe the Environment to Reflect Mood
Use the setting to mirror or hint at emotions or themes.
Tell: "The town was eerie."
Show: "Empty streets stretched into the mist, and the only sound was the faint creak of a weathered sign swinging in the wind."
6. Let Readers Infer Through Context
Give enough clues for the reader to piece things together without spelling it out.
Tell: "The man was a thief."
Show: "He moved through the crowd, fingers brushing pockets, his hand darting away with a glint of gold."
7. Use Subtext in Interactions
What’s left unsaid can reveal as much as what’s spoken.
Tell: "They were uncomfortable around each other."
Show: "He avoided her eyes, pretending to study the painting on the wall. She smoothed her dress for the third time, her fingers fumbling with the hem."
8. Compare to Relatable Experiences
Use metaphors, similes, or comparisons to make an emotion or situation vivid.
Tell: "The mountain was huge."
Show: "The mountain loomed above them, its peak disappearing into the clouds, as if it pierced the heavens."
Practice Example:
Tell: "The village had been destroyed by the fire."
Show: "Charred beams jutted from the rubble like broken ribs, the acrid smell of ash lingering in the air. A child's shoe lay half-buried in the soot, its leather curled from the heat."

Hazbin Hotel Redesigns: Charlie,Vaggie,Angel,Husk,Velvette and Vox.
Charlie is inspired by Chanel’s Spring 1995 runway collection.
Vaggie and Velvette are inspired by Thierry Mugler Haute Couture 1995 fall collection
(The rest are more free form)
Charlie gives me huge Chanel vibes tbh, should I draw them more?

no but i'm literally just thinking SOOO much about how Vox is obviously living a hollow and unfulfilling life, and how the only thing he shows genuine interest in is power and Alastor
even with the other Vees, he's distant and muted- he doesn't really seem to engage with them, not deeply, or particularly happily- he does care about them, i think, considering he's willing to 'let his guard down', (which is a whole 'nother post, and only vaguely something i mentioned here) but i'd wager he finds the whole thing dull
Vox is stuck in a rut. he's bored, he straight up says fuck my life, and then follows that up with putting on a fake ass smile for the masses. up until Alastor is thrown back into the mix, Vox's whole demeanour screams fake
and then Alastor is back and Vox is emotive. he's excited, he's interested, he's energetic. yeah, the whole thing is based on some bitter ex drama, and it's probably not, like, healthy- but he's actually consistently acting alive
compare his whole music sequence with the way he's acting before Alastor's whole ass came back, and there is such a stark difference. he's all over the fucking place, he's borderline manic, whereas before he just- he was very obviously bored
you can even see some of this when you compare the brief glance of Vox and Val during Angel's song, and then with the episode 8 song
i think Alastor is the only thing in Vox's life he actively cares about, at this point. it's the only thing that interests him, that captivates him, and oh boy, i cannot wait to see more of them in season 2

creative journal prompts/ideas ⋆✴︎˚。⋆
hi angels! i honestly love to write and really reflect through my journal but sometimes an emotionally charged journal sesh requires a bit more energy than i have. but i know journalling always makes me feel so much better so here are some cute prompts or ideas for those lower energy, more creative days where writing doesn’t quite feel like enough.
list of your favourite things (for example artists, musicians, writers, flowers)
lyrics that feel relevant in the moment
your ‘fig tree’
a kiss from every time you’ve worn lipstick
an about you page
tea bags saved from every tea you’ve tried recently - maybe with a review also!
pressed flowers
a collage page with a theme
you right now
recipes you’ve found or want to try
doodles of what’s in your bag
weekly positives
‘junk’ pages full of any odd pieces of paper you save or think are interesting
quotes that feel important
comfort films
ideal partner
words to use more
a mini gallery (print outs of any of your favourite pieces of art)
your wish list
special poems
current obsessions/fixations
brain dumps on intriguing topics
old photos
your to be read list
things on your mind recently
your dream home
thank you for reading angels! have fun journalling and getting creative. there’s a quote by emily dickinson that’s always struck me, ‘i am out with lanterns looking for myself’. to me this quote is really reminiscent of when i journal, im attempting to piece my self together slowly. id really love to hear how journalling feels to you! love, m.

Journaling prompts to reinvent yourself ౨ৎ
how do I want the world to see me, and does it match how I see myself?
how do I show up for others, and how do they show up for me?
what about my life feels like love and what doesn't?
where does my time go, and where do I wish it would go?
who do I admire most, and what about them speaks to my soul?
is the way I live aligned with the life I dream of, or a I just coasting?
what qualities in others feel the most magnetic to me? Do I reflect those?
what’s inside my bag, and what does it say about me? (be honest, even the gum wrappers count.)
if I could script my perfect morning, how would it begin?
what passions have I ignored that I would like to reclaim?
what’s one small, powerful shift I could make today to move toward my dream life?
write a tender letter to the future version of yourself. What do you hope they’ve become, and what do you want them to remember about now?
As always, please feel free to share your own prompts and check out my insta for more of me! <3

hey vivziepop can you explain why most of the latino and black characters have ashy skin tones. why do velvette and sera and emily have grey skin when they’re clearly meant to be black. why do vaggie and carmilla look grey when they’re meant to be read as latina. don’t say it’s because vaggies an angel because lute and adam are white and they have normal skin tones. dont tell me it’s because they’re dead because lilith and saint peter have pale skin but alastor looks like a corpse five days left at sea. where are their curls. even my hair as a white passing mixed latina is curly. where are carmillas curls? vaggies?? and then when they do have curls, why do they just look like loose, styled straight hair. for all her confidence, why doesn’t velvette wear her natural hair out. for all the complicated character design in the show, why do curls and non white skin tones just not exist. im not saying you’re racist but. hey vivziepop. hey.

I'd like to remind everyone that when talking about a person (or character), it's "person with albinism," not "albino."
I've mentioned before how deeply traumatic that word is for many of us. It carries a stigma that exists just as strongly as it did when we were featured in circus freakshows (which I've seen billboards for in my lifetime), because that's where people know us from and there hasn't been a movement to change that. We're still portrayed in media as freaks and villains, using our appearance to shock you. You're supposed to see us as evil, abusive, manipulative, and never worthy of redemption, because they don't expect for you to see those characters as human. If you can't think of any examples, check out the TV tropes article for Albinos are freaks.
I've experienced endless bullying and harassment, adults calling me disgusting and a freak, physical violence, and had my sunglasses and hat taken on multiple occasions (both are necessary for me to be able to see outside, essentially blinding me and leaving me downtown somewhere). I've been discriminated against so many times I can no longer remember each detail. This is what albino means to me: being subhuman.
I will never see albino as a positive word, even when people mean well. Getting people to care about us is like pulling teeth; I'm not saying this is a slur and you're a bad person if you ever say it. I'm asking for some common respect, and for you to learn about us before you talk about us and make your OCs based on more than just looks.
There's a lot more I could cover but ultimately I'd really like the word albino to fade out of our lexicon. I don't really care what you call animals, although albinistic is the scientific term.
Of course i don't speak for everyone with albinism. For more on that, here's a very short article about our various feelings on the word.

i hate most of those 'vox owns alastor's soul' aus because alastor is unphotographable, asexual, and wouldn't know a jpeg file from a usb drive. he would be USELESS in vtower.
however, yknow who would be a good thrall? vox is already pr-trained, would know a transatlantic accent, and is technologically gifted enough that running a radio show would be easy as pie for him.
the main problem is how annoying he'd be about it.
"and now to my costar vox with stocks updates!"
"yeah hi. vox here. tv guy vox. the guy with the tv for a head. i'm a tv, if you forgot. yesterday the stocks for radio went down by 2% because radio is irrelevant and bad. tv stocks went up by 11% though. hey did you know my head is a tv by the w-"
