Skyrim x FFXIV Fic!

I had a surge of inspiration after my sibling mentioned replaying though Skyrim again and this is the fruit of a single sleepless night.

Azem’s relic really did have bad timing…

A Dawntrail Warrior of Light stuck in Skyrim has to once more solve a war, deal with fickle gods and mortals, and most importantly debate with dragons!

You can! There’s a setting in the beta that makes them only talk in meows. Subtitles still pop up but no voices! Turned it one immediately.

Monster Hunter Wilds Beta!

Having played the beta a little bit, and only with two weapons, Switch Axe and Bow, as to not fully spoil myself, and so far I think it's good.

They've focused heavily on QoL changes. Bow's phials being a built in gauge now, claw hook being able to just snatch pods from small monsters and instantly killing the. Plus how mobile everything is.

I don't know how I feel about the pop-up camp system. I really did like finding and setting up camps in their unique, hand-made areas. It does feel like for some of them they just plopped down a marker randomly. Which I guess is what they were going for as there are still hidden-away areas like the camp underground by the river and one up high in a cave.

I am ambivalent towards it so far. I really did like that in World it seemed like you were actually camping and traveling to a location. It feels like here with how you can go directly out from base camp into the world, it feels strange.

Floaty is how I would describe the entire game so far, like your not tethered to just one spot anymore.

Oh and the whole giving them actual names and their being no Monster Hunter Language is still not passing my vibes check. It was small, but it made Monster Hunter feel unique.

Plus so far, I'm not feeling the story. Monster Hunter isn't exactly known for it's story, but I am one of the few who enjoyed World's "taming the wilderness" and the mystery of the Elder Crossing story.

Personal gripe too, but the plains aren't doing it for me too, it's super well made but the entire place does feel desaturated. Wildspire Waste's was a desert, but even it felt alive in terms of colour.

WoL Job NPC'S meeting fics!!!

New Fic idea for me to put in the drafts and request if there's any since there has to be at least one!!!!

A compilation of various job trainers, quest givers, and other NPC's who find out just how multi-faceted the Warrior of Light is to a ridiculously degree.

Imagine while Sophia and Radovan (Gunbreaker Jobline) are in Ul'dah they stop by the Blue Mage circus to watch the show and end up watch the super cool Warrior of Light perform absolutely ridiculously feets of magic and act whimsy like they'd never seen before.

Or the Archer's jobline Silvairre and Leih encountering the Warrior of Light while they're in their Dark Knight regalia while hunting poachers and seeing the sheer contrast between an upbeat person who loves to sing and a manifestation of darkness and love.

Drusilla and the Reapers seeing the Dancer's Troupe Falsiam performance out in the public and watching in shock as the woman who tore out and ate the aether of one of the most feared voidsent ever dancing happily and singing of joy and happiness in dancer's cloths or meeting the WoL with Zero at some point somehow.

On the flipside, the Redbill Sky Pirates from Shadows of Mhach raid encountering the WoL as a Reaper and panicking for a moment as voidsent near on par with Diablos swirls around them before learning that no, that's also the WoL somehow.

I don't do crafting but I don't remember it coming up so someone can correct me, but as Tataru keeps building her empire, she keeps purchasing mastercrafted works and keeps realizing that 90% of them are resold at a upcharge from you. Like half of the elite upper trading sphere is propped up by things the WoL has made or when she was trying find a maker for the Endwalker Job Gear she kept being referred to the WoL.

The WoL offhandedly mentioning to Stephanivien and Joye from the Machinist guild that they know how to pilot and help upkeep a fully functioning mecha robot twice the size of the Queen they have and they best friends with Cid from Garlond Ironworks.

(Warrior) Curious Gorge and Broken Mountain meeting a Scholar WoL.

(Dark Knight) Sidragu and Rielle meeting a White Mage WoL.

(White Mage) The Padjal's meeting a Black Mage WoL.

(Red Mage) X'rhun Tia and Arya meeting the WoL as they switch from White Mage and Black Mage to Red Mage and realize they've mastered literally every way you can use the magic.

(Monk) Hell Widargelt and his students seeing the Warrior of Light again shortly after they literally near single-handedly brought down Garlemald and freed their country would be fun.

Literally anyone else being with the Warrior of Light as they go through a Hildebrand adventure.

There has to be fics like that already I need to see them if anyone has any!!!!

The absolute defining thing for me in a character creator is the hair. I could spend fifty minutes creating the perfect face and body but if there is no good hair options then the entire thing is ruined for me!

Seriously how hard is to add a big messy ponytail!!! And NOT make it gender locked! Thats all you need!!!

Oh it would definitely be a solo duty, I meant it would be stylized as that. Maybe like the Knights where they come in pairs while the others support from behind and jump in for quick attacks and heals so there’s not 8 enemies at once. Phases with them pairs leading to a final combination attack. Heals and the like, and tank- but using special given to block heals or the like. Maybe by Cid or someother caster.

But that’s a fun way to set it up too and to have Tataru involved. The scions being corrupted is a good one. I really like the idea of our other companions coming to our aid. I want to see Lyse aging! Fordola, Hien,and like you said the other Scions!

I was thinking more in the way that there are still Azem shards out there, and maybe one of them manages to overtake us for a moment. Like when Zenos stole our body. Or twists our mind. With five other reflections still out there (it’s heavily implied our reaper avatar is our 13th shard fragment but it’s kept ambiguous for RP and character reasons) one of them is bound to be at the very least unscrupulous.

I also don’t know about not being able to take them on though. When Zenos was in our body it was framed as the Scions wouldn’t stand a chance and we were equals then even if he has the element of surprise. Squares been slowly reducing it since having a op character is hard to write for and having is always call allies is a good way to avoid power creep, but genuinely the WoL is really beyond any Scion and they make mention of that multiple times. Estinien and Gaius together couldn’t touch Zenos in 5.3 and that was two expansions ago. I think it would defiantly be even at the very least. Throw in the WoL not wanting to hurt the Scions and that’d make more sense, or even the WoL fighting from within in my version.

It occurs to me now that there are eight scions and they can fill a full raid team now.

Thancred and G'raha Tia - Tank

Y’shtola and Urianger - Healer

Alphinaud, Alisaie, Estinien, and Krile - Damage

Now you may be wonder why that's important.

See that's a full raid team without the Warrior of Light.

Now imagine if in the future there was a solo duty that pitted the WoL against them as a reverse raid. Whether it's for fun, whether it's due to them being corrupted or something or!

If something went wrong with a shard of use rejoining or some other thing and for a single duty WE were the bad guy. Can you imagine a WoL that's rouge. We'd be an final trial boss or even a Ultimate if we were.

I don't think they'd ever do it due to how complicated it'd probably be and it's risky, but wow that would be cool. The WoL's whole thing is being incorruptible to, so I doubt they'd ever do that.

It'd also show off why exactly were the Warrior of Light and the Scion's vanguard.

Not to mention if it went down the rouge route then you'd have some serious heartbreaking dialogue from the Scions trying to stop them.

Seriously imagine Alphinaud and Alisaie saying how much of an inspiration they are, Thancred how much he owes you for saving Ryne and himself on the regular, Urianger pledging that he would save you as you did him, Y'shtola on how much she respects you and worries for your safety, Estinien on how you are his equal and the greatest warrior he ever fought with, Krile on how much she owes you and looks up to you, and man- just imagine what G'raha would say. That could be its own post.

God it's never gonna happen but I need that.

When I know I’m done for the day I like to end everyone of my FFXIV sessions by having Chara sleep.

It’s a fun quirk I’ve adhered to since I had an apartment. It’s just one of those little things that make the game feel special. It helps me go to sleep too.
