Not my usual type of post but something that saddens me is the fact that in a shocking amount of ship content Ratio just seems to have no character apart from being Aventurines lover.

I'm not talking about him not being the focus in fics that aren't Ratio-centric, but it seems like he's nothing but Aventurines partner in the type of content I'm talking about.

He doesn't have his own flaws or problems, he's just there to be Aventurines boyfriend, nothing else. He's the comfort in the hurt/comfort but beyond that he's not even really there. It's the same with Genshin and Kavetham, I understand that it's mostly because both Kaveh and Aventurine are more popular in the fan base and there are definitely big problems with how people handle them as well, it's just disappointing to see my favorites constantly overlooked and watered down for the sake of shipping.

So I wanted to say more about the whole « this silhouette isn’t Mydei » thing

So here goes

What is that supposed to be? It looks like to top of a cape, which Mydei does not have. However, Phainon does have those flappy thing around his neck!

Then there is the hair thing

From the movement, everything that can fly (ie. the cape) does fly. But the hair doesn’t? He has long hair, we should be able to see the movement in it too. However, who does have short hair? Phainon! And if we look at the small spikes in both shadows, they look quite identical, if I do say so myself.

Then there is the boot

We can see in the right picture that, when his knees are bent, there are spikes that separate from the rest of his legs. In the left picture, the knee is bent just a little. Still, it should be enough to see, at the very least, a little bit of said spikes, which are not visible at all. However, Phainon doesn’t have spikes at all. He just had plain old boots in which he puts his pants in.

And to finish, there is the shoulder

Why does it look so weird? I know Mydei is buff, but that’s a whole other level, don’t you think? I’m no doctor, but the angle at which the shoulder seems to connect with the rest of the body is really putting me off… I can’t seem to explain it, but there is just something… wrong… However, what could justify something so strange, is armour, of which Mydei does not have. But Phainon does!

In any case, maybe I’m pushing it, but that’s just my interpretation. I really don’t think it’s Mydei being stabbed here. There’s just too many thing that don’t seem to fit for me, but I’m open for discussion! If you think I’m wrong, feel free to tell me!

He's not even bad at making potions, quite the contrary, but the two of them still keep clashing over the tiniest details. Trein is ready to kick them both out of the school if it means his workload gets reduced. Somehow all their messes fall back on his shoulders and he hates it.
