I opt to hear the familiar sound. No emotions surfaced.

Nostalgia kicked in, memories rushed in.

Unwanted thoughts came to taunt and haunt.

No doubt. It was there.

However,

There is a longing.

The supernatural touch.

The fire.

The water the quench your forever thirst.

The love.

Unconditional.

A long sigh and whispered,

“I am not ready”.

Ghosts  I'm in a city where there's no trace of you, not even a shadow of your being. But, why are you haunting and taunting me in my dreams. Trying to chase away happiness and snatch away peace.

Some of you might wonder why. I guess I am biased since I love Summer. However, wearing lesser clothes. No heavy coats, double or even triple the layer of clothes you put on is actually pretty comfortable. Thus, I guess enjoying Prague is best when it is Summer.

Prague has been always on my #travelgoals list. After I saw the movie chasing liberty and get to see a glimpse of that famous square in Prague. I want to go and see it for myself. I was 19 years old at that time and years after that I got the opportunity. It was a 4 days and 3 nights trip. It was cheap, amazingly cheap but the travel was tough. Travelling by bus is never easy but I don’t mind at all. I always think it would be worth it. Anything for #travelgoals.

Now, I will give you 5 Reasons why I think Prague is the best Summer destination.

(*Be aware: In Summer it will be swarming with tourists. Now, that is nothing to be surprised about. However, don’t forget to put on sunblock and re-apply every once in a while because the heat could be overwhelming. Plus, get hydrated and stay hydrated)

1. CHEAP.

Yes, you read that right. You will get the opportunity to experience the beautiful, in its true essence old city in an utmost way because it is cheap. I guess because Paris has built its image as the city of love through the early years that’s why it has been the ultimate destination of couples. But, if you are looking for cheaper options. Hell yeah, Prague it is! Prague is said to be an equal to Paris when it comes to beauty. And, I believe it is. However, I guess its way more better in totality. *FYI: my opinion.

I assure you that everywhere you go, you will see that Prague is a beautiful city. Everywhere you go, each place has a different characteristics and you’ll see each historical spots or should I say cultural spots alluring. And if you zoom out of all the different angles, perspective from each place you visit in Prague. You’ll be amaze that the city has embraced modernity without losing the identity of Prague as the capital of Bohemia. How the city brings you back to a millennium is amazing. Now, immerse yourself in the Bohemian Culture. Here are historical spots, tourist spots you can visit and enjoy this Summer:

3. Beer. Prague is famous for its beer. Not only because it is good quality beer but because it is cheap. Yes, it is cheap! But, of course it way more than “cheap”. You also need to check history silly. Beer is part of their culture. Before the creation of Pilsner Urquell in 1842. The history of beer in Czech Republic goes way back further. It is said that in Czech lands people brew their own beer. However, different to the ingredients used today. *Fact: Czech Republic has the highest beer consumption per capita in the world. Even monasteries has their own breweries and sell beers to the public. Now, how cheap is one pint of beer in Prague? It is 20 CZK to 40 CZK. 0.79 euro to 1.56 euros. That cheap!

4. Food.

 Also a city where you can have feast when it comes to food. Yes, Czech cuisine is gastronomical. It has diversity in flavors and definitely a pleasure to the taste buds. So here are famous Czech food:

5. Ambiance. I guess this is the main reason why I fell in love with Prague. The reason why I would always love to go back and will never get tired of it. The ambiance of the city itself is romantic, calm and something I can’t describe but gives you a good feeling. Wherever you are, the city speaks for itself. Serenades you in a way you can’t portray it in words. From the moment the sun rise until it sets. Prague is simply amazing. I always wake up early in the morning in my travels. It is not just to maximize my time but to also see how the city comes to life. I am no morning-person but if I live in Prague and I’ll be able to witness what I saw and felt. I guess I don’t mind waking up every single day seeing that magnificent city. A city with indescribable beauty. *side-off topic for a while. Sorry folks but I really find Prague more romantic than Paris, in totality. The architecture, the roads, the arts and ambiance. Parisians I believe are romantic but it is a big city and has been modernized over time. It has been an over-rated tourist destination thus everything comes with a price or should I say overpriced. Well, I can tell you so much more about that maybe in another article here in my blog. I’ll try to write everything I learn from each country, the culture and everything I find odd or amazing as a Filipino. Anyhow, let us go back to the topic. I can still remember 5 in the morning when I wandered around the Charles bridge because I want to see it without the swarming tourists. It was full moon and the perfection of its reflection on the Vltava River was magnificent. It was a true beauty. There were of course a few couples on the bridge with me. Some tourists but some locals who are starting off their day. Nothing can beat the kind of view I saw that morning. Couples exchanging kisses, holding hands walking, hugging each other and talking. It was a phenomenal view for me. Something unforgettable. Prague is special.

Those are my 5 reasons and I guess a beautiful city such as Prague needs a day where you can be comfortable roaming around freely. However, I think it is also magical to see Prague in different season. But you know what, for whatever it is, I think really that Prague is the best vacation destination. According to my research, spring is the best time to visit the country. But, as a Filipino who is not used to a cold weather I’d prefer Summer since sometimes weather here in Europe can be very unpredictable. Now, I hope my 5 reasons convinced you to go to Prague. Anyway, if not. It is fine. I will post an article about my 4 days and 3 nights itinerary in Prague in a week or so. Depends on my mood and if I am not lazy.
