Cozy mornings in my dorm room. I love the subtleness of the sunlight as it peeks through my windows!

Life Update
It’s been a while since the last time I’ve updated this blog, so since we are all amidst a global pandemic, and I’m bored even though I have a lot of backlogs, I decided to update you guys of what had happened in the past months (or years).
I passed my thesis in flying colors! I never expected it and ended up crying so hard after our defense because I worked so hard to finish it. Plus, our program chair asked if I want to participate in the research colloquium of our school, and of course, I said yes! I didn’t win but the experience was worth it.
I'm done with college! I graduated last year in July and celebrated it with my family, friends, and boyfriend. Finally got a degree in accounting but I will probably not renew my license and membership this year. One, because I don’t really think that accounting is for me. Plus, I don’t see myself doing taxes and financial statements reports, hehe; And second,
I’m in law school right now, finally pursuing what I’m interested in, eh? And I love it. Don’t get me wrong, it is hard but even though I may rant most of the time about how hard it is, i still enjoy it. Perhaps it’s because I have an amazing support system: family, friends, and my boyfriend. So... lawyer by May 2024 tayo ha? :)
I’ve been trying to take online classes. I saw an opportunity to study an online crash course Justice in Harvard University, and took it. I’m half way through the course and I can say that it’s really fun. I will probably take another after this if my time and schedule permits, so yey!
I hope everyone is safe!

Happy heart
An afternoon in my favorite place, and we decided to park the car, walk, and roam around the city. It was short, but my heart is happy!

Nothing ever truly ends
2017 had been the plot twist itself all year long. It’s the year that I have witnessed friends that turned into family and friends that turned into mere faces and names. The stillness that turned into motion and action that turned into silence. The impossible that turned into achievements and efforts that have gone to waste. The unexpected that doesn't seem bad after all-- heartbreak doesn’t seem bad after all.
The least that turned into the most of it and the best that turned into the worst thing there is. The breakdowns that turned into further intimacies and attachments that turned into conflicts. The desires that turned into properties and assets that turned into memories. The claims that turned into realities and a lot more to all these. Some that words may not even able to unravel into details. Some I may rather keep into visuals and ideas. Some that I may have tried to forget.
But at the end of each day, of each week, of each month, these things will remain to be a part of what has made me the way I am right now. They will remain to be the blocks that would accompany the gaps, the bridges that would fill the spaces, the names that would later on begin the stories.
The year coming to an end doesn't necessarily imply that things should/would start anew. After all, we're just subjects to change. Nothing ever truly ends.

Everything worthwhile in life is won through surmounting the associated negative experience. Any attempt to escape the negative, to avoid it or quash it or silence it, only backfires. The avoidance of suffering is a form of suffering. The avoidance of struggle is a struggle. The denial of failure is a failure. Hiding what is shameful is itself a form of shame. Pain is an inextricable thread in the fabric of life, and to tear it out is not only impossible, but destructive: attempting to tear it out unravels everything else with it. To try to avoid pain is to give too many fucks about pain. In contrast, if you’re able to not give a fuck about the pain, you become unstoppable.

Always a good idea
If you’re in for an hour long drive to be in a paradise amidst a busy town, then I guarantee that this place is for you. Sulyap Gallery Cafe in San Pablo City boast not just their pretty exteriors, interiors and exquisite food but also the story that is embedded upon its walls.
As promised, I came back! I was able to visit this place three times this year, one for when my dad wants a kinda short drive lol, another for a quick escape from school and work, and one when we needed to show his colleague around. This has been our go-to place whenever we would crave for something simple yet relaxing.
For someone who loves history and architecture so much, this place gets me every time I don’t want to experience the traffic and crowd of Intramuros. I know this is far different from the Walled City but this tells yet another great story of its past. After all, it’s always a good idea to learn something new from something that has been around for decades.

Philippine Accountancy Congress
I was a month late but I’ll post it nonetheless.
Okay, so I got lucky. I applied and was very fortunate to be chosen as one of the delegates of the first ever Philippine Accountancy Congress held at AFP Theatre last March 5. I know, a tad late but still yay!! I’m so happy that I took the chance and applied, I learned a lot of stuff about the career I’m taking.
There were five topics discussed on the event and my favorite, and probably everyone’s too, was the one about Personal Finance, it’s about properly investing your money. (Do you want to be called a saver or an investor? Choose.) The talk was given by the chairman of the Stock Exchange himself, so it made sense that what he delivered was an eloquent speech.
Growing A Global Filipino Accountant, Philippine Accountancy Profession: Change is Coming, Creating a Competitive Edge, and Holistic Transition: From JPIAn to PICPAn were the topics discussed as well. Overall, I learned a lot and got inspired to continue this career upon hearing all the things the speakers have to say.
I really love attending this kind of event, I was fortunate and was really thankful that I got to meet a lot of people who pursue the same dream as mine. The connection you build and the knowledge you obtain were the things that makes this kind of occasion always worth it.
PS. The line on the photo booth was way too long so when the photobooth was on its break, we asked one of the photographers to take a picture of us using my phone.
Until next year’s PAC! ♡

Long overdue date
My best friend and I have been meaning to date and hang out for months now but our schedule did not permit us to do so. Good thing we saw a holiday coming up and we thought that it’s about time to really date! Haha. So we went to Alabang Town Center and decided to try the new restaurants around.
We went to Silantro first, it’s a Filipino-Mexican restaurant and has that industrial inspired interior, which I really love! We ordered their Grilled Porkchop, Shrimp Skewers and Calliente Wings. We thought that this will be just enough for the two of us but it turned out there were too much! LOL. (Stress eating at its finest.)
The Grilled Pork Chop was the real deal. It was tender and tasty. There were two chops so it's already enough to fill our hungry stomachs. The Shrimp Skewers is also a must! It's tasty and best eaten with a squeeze of lime. The Calliente Wings is delicious as well plus, the serving is big for its price. We were in awe when the server served us 6 wings!! There was a bit of heat in the sauce which balances all the other flavors of the wings so it's really good!
It was such an experience to try this restaurant out. We were so full that we weren't able to finish the food. (Mind you, we were starving!!)
We then decided to watch Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them because we both love Harry Potter and are both proud Potterheads!! Haha. But much to our disappointment, it wasn’t available that day since the MMFF movies occupied all the cinemas. Ugh!
So to somewhat brighten up our day, we went instead to our ultimate happy place: a place full of books! Haha.
We went to Fullybooked and roamed every floor, criticizing every book we hate (HAHA) and praising every book we love!! LOL. We talked a lot (mostly about books) and had fun taking pictures everywhere. Hahaha.
After our fun book stop, we decided to get our desserts. We went to La Maripili since I’ve been eyeing their churros and, of course, interior ever since it opened.
Kakakain lang namin, kakain na naman ulit! LOL.
The interior is really classy with its big doors and big windows. It’s all white with an industrial-homey vibes to it and the ambiance is simple and dainty, which I really love. I’m a sucker for interiors, I know. Plus, the crew is really kind and accommodating. She guided us on what to order.
We ordered their classic churros in small, a cup of hot chocolate dip and their European Classic grilled sandwich. We were also served a small pitcher of water and some paper cups.
I like their churros. It’s petite and not oily. You can eat the churros by itself since it’s already good as is. But the chocolate dip will bring it to a whole new level. The chocolate isn’t sweet, it has a hint of coffee taste in it which I think put a depth in the flavor of the chocolate, which is really good.
Their grilled sandwich is really good, too. I think I like it better than the churros. Hahaha! There was a perfect balance of flavors between the cheese and the ham. But I guess it was too pricey for a sandwich. But all in all, we really enjoyed this place.
This long overdue date is a success! We had a lot of fun and had a lot of food! LOL. After all, eating a cup of ice cream is the best way to end a lovely day! ♡ (Yes, we still got ourselves a cup of ice cream from Cold Stone after all we’ve eaten!)

OH-to-BER months!
Hooray October! Hello Fall!
The title is very lame, I know.
I know I haven’t posted anything for the past weeks and I’m truly sorry! I didn’t even got to post the post-production photos of the film that we made but I truly have a good reason for that. =))
I hit my car. Yes, I accidentally hit my car with someone else’s car amidst the term plus I’m very busy with all the school works that I have to do that time and it just all went crazy. And I’m just happy that I’m able to surpass the term! But all is good now since I got my car back just a week ago. In case you didn’t know, I’m now driving a Toyota Hilux and it’s a pickup, so as a girl, I’m having a hard time driving it since it’s too big and too bulky for my liking. But I’m kinda used to it right now and I love it very much. As for my parents, I’m thankful and glad that they didn’t get mad at all, and that they’re just happy that no one got hurt. Yey!
In other news, the second term just started and I’m quite preoccupied because you know, college happened. (Kailan ba hindi? LOL.) But I’m glad that I’m spending more time with my friends, we even played a game of Monopoly during our breaks! (I lost, huhu.) And of course, that is not without a cup of coffee or hot choco in this cold weather. Haha!
Also, I’ve been into a lot of mystery/thriller books lately! I’m obsessed with Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None & Murder on the Orient Express but I can’t get a hold of the physical books that I’m stuck on reading them on my phone. But I’m really loving them! And oh my god, Inferno is coming out this October and I’m really excited about it!!! There’s just so much to be happy for this month! ♡
Second term, so far, so good! YAASSSSS.

Amidst a nerve-racking term
Classes resumed just three weeks ago and I can’t believe the work that’s piling up in my desk already! I’m getting busier and busier because of acads and org duties. I’m kind of sad that I still can’t see my friends with the schedule that I have. But I’m happy that for the first time in my whole college life, I found myself really useful, heehee. And I’m so damn excited with the major things that happened/that will happen in two months!
JPIA-MCL General Assembly - It was our first main event for this federation and we’re all happy that it turned out to be a success! All the invites we had to make, all the announcements, preparations, and sacrifices we did are all worth it! Standing Committee in Communications, at your service! ;)
Microeconomics Term Paper - So we were asked by our professor in this course to research about anything that concerns the economy of the Philippines. It should be done in pairs but my friend and partner, Wedge, will be transferring to another section so I’m left alone to do our paper. Haha. I decided to research about how does the government determines the minimum wage per day and it’s kind of hard since the resources are kinda limited. Good luck, self.
Filipino Short Film Project - This one, I’m really excited about!! I’m taking Filipino 03 and one of the course’s requirements is to make a short film. Our group will be making a film entitled, Paraluman. It’s about an artist who lost his confidence in painting and writing when his girlfriend broke up with him; so he decided stop and be an ordinary office clerk instead, leaving all his passion locked up somewhere in the past. But then he will meet someone who will be his muse and will bring back all the passion he has but... everything about this girl is only a figment of his imagination. Basta. It’s a really good story, I’ll post some pre-production photos soon!
Yuchengco College of Business Week - This one is one of the major things that will happen this term! And I’m so damn happy that I’m part of it! For our college week, the council laid out a lot of good stuff for the students! We will be having a motorcade, each organization under the college will have one float and the theme should be a book that has a movie/TV adaption. The entrepreneurs went for Game of Thrones while we, Accountancy students went for Alice in the Wonderland, and the HRM and the Tourisms haven’t announced their theme yet. We will also have a fair! There will be ferris wheels and all other things that you can see when you’re in a perya. There will also be a music festival at the last day, I think. And the band Sud will be performing! I’m so excited with everything. I can’t wait!
So that’s the round up of what happened/what will happen soon! I wish I can afford the time to update every time but my schedule makes it impossible to do so. Also, it’s already our preliminary exams week! So I’m cramming the requirements and review. ((Since that’s what I basically do)) lol
Cheers to all the activities and duties this first term! There’s no way but up! ;)
