The Bats always have a minor case of lead poisoning. Bruce started lacing all his armor with lead, not even months after knowing about Superman. With how often he gets stabbed, slashed, or shot doing his night vengeance routine, micro traces of lead get left in his system, and it builds up. Years later, after a "routine" alien hostile world takeover ended, the Batfamily were forced to the watchtower for medical care by their respective meta. In which one small blood test later revealed the chronic lead poisoning what was affecting every single one.
