WHAT IS CONSIDERED A "CLASSIC CAR"?
Recently we have had a few “classic” cars brought into the shop for us to work on. It has been a whole lot of fun making these cars, that were made fifty years ago, look like they were just bought off the lot. We are lucky enough to love what we do. While working on these "classics," got us to thinking. What is actually considered a classic car?
We bounce the term around here in the shop quite a bit so we might as well know what the literal meaning is.
AGE
Obviously, the first topic of conversation we are going to bring up is the age of the car. According to the Antique Automobile Club of America, a car needs to be between twenty-five and fifty years old. You would think that your vehicle can’t be too old to not be considered a classic, right? Any car older than fifty years is considered an antique. In our eyes, it can be considered both a classic and an antique. According to the Classic Car Club of America, they have declared that for a car to be considered a classic, it needs to have been built between the years of 1925 and 1948. That seems a bit steep to us considering everybody in our shop believes the 50’s through 70’s Corvette Stingrays are some of our favorite classics. Both clubs say that the car also needs to be defined as “fine,” “unusual,” or “distinctive.”
DOES IT MATTER?
That is a question you are probably asking. Ultimately, does it really matter if your car is technically considered a classic? For some situations, yes. There are special rates for "classic car" lenders and insurers. The term "classic car" is classified differently by different banks and insurers, so you want to look into that before you buy a classic car. For instance, some lenders have declared that the quality of the production standards were quite low in the 70’s and 80’s, so they won’t give special rates for cars built in those years.
For insurances, the definition of a classic car can vary state by state. If you have a car that is considered a classic car, they will give you special rates and even historical license plates that are really cool!
At the end of the day, some of these classifications are too thought out. We believe there are some really cool classics that, by these terms, are being left out. Some of these definitions are missing the point was appreciating classic cars. Some cars get forgotten about in a garage somewhere, and our goal is to spruce it up and make you love your car again! 3 Things You Must Know About Auto Detailing
For those of you that are not fully informed on what auto detailing is, you have stumbled upon the right place. There is a huge difference between running your car through an automated car wash every once in a while and having your car regularly detailed. When a car’s paint is taken care of properly, your car will have a higher resale value and look better for longer. The cars from the 1950’s you see cruising down the street didn’t just last this long by chance, it takes hard work and extensive knowledge of cars and their paint. Let’s jump into what you need to know.
WHAT ARE THE AUTO DETAILING BASICS?
The goal of auto detailing and what we do is to refresh your car to look as if it is brand new. We do much more than just wash your car and dry it off. We make sure every nook and cranny is fresh as new. The major benefit to having your car professionally detailed is the attention to detail (hence the name). We clean your car and correct any imperfection as well as use protective paint coatings to make the paint more durable. Auto detailing is not a one trick pony, we offer a number of other packages including interior and engine detailing services.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY DETAILER DID A GOOD JOB?
Your car should be spotless throughout and have a shine from being waxed. Any marks, swirls, and minor scratches should be corrected and look clean. During or after the winter season, you should expect any road salt and any other sort of harmful fragments from the road to be fully removed. The protective layer of paint should keep your paint more resilient against dirt, grime, and any build-up of debris.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY CAR DETAILED?
Indiana weather is fairly harsh during the winter so you want to make sure you get your car protected before winter and freshen it up when the winter season is over. We have detailing packages that vary from being recommended monthly, quarterly, and even annually. We are also certified in providing Opti-Coat services which ensures up to 7+ years of durability. To Learn more about Opti-Coat click here.
Ultimately your car is most likely the second biggest investment you’ve ever made. You should protect that investment by treating it with care. Auto Detailers are immersed in the life of car caring so we are up to date on all the newest and best practices of detailing. If you want to schedule an appointment with us click the button below!

What to Car Problems to Watch Out For this Winter in Indiana
Even though the weather is hotter than normal this fall in Indianapolis, that doesn’t mean winter isn’t going to hit us hard like it normally does. The Indianapolis winters are tough on our cars and you need to be aware of the problems it causes before the cold weather starts coming in. Let’s take a look what you should be conscious of going into the colder months so you can take preventative action for your vehicle.
SNOW
If you have been through an Indiana winter, then you know there will be segments of time where the snow will pile up. Snow can damage your car’s paint, so it is important to store your car in the garage if you can. If not, then be sure to brush the snow off your car in the morning before you leave for work. To ensure your paint doesn’t get damaged, bring it into us to put a protective paint coating, like Opti-Coat, on your car’s paint to have a layer of defense against the snow.
SALT
Salt makes the roads safer for us to drive on during the winter months, but it’s devastating for your car’s paint. The salt causes a chemical reaction with your paint and causes it to rust if not cleaned off properly in a timely manner. It is crucial to bring your car into us after winter ends to wipe the slate clean to make sure there is no salt leftover moving forward.
PAINT FADING
Many people forget that the sun’s UV rays are just as powerful in the colder months as they are in the warmer months. You still need to protect your car with a protective paint coating so the paint doesn’t fade. When your car’s paint fades, its value plummets.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS
There is nothing more frustrating and dangerous than when your windshield wipers are not capable of fully removing the snow from the windshield while driving. When they are leaving streaks instead of clearing everything off your windshield, it is time to change them. If you want to be safe, you should change them once a year when winter is around the corner.
HOT WATER ON WINDSHIELD
When ice forms on your windshield, most people put the kettle on and pour the hot water on the windshield for a quick and easy fix. Because of the temperature difference between the hot water and the freezing windshield, you are risking a crack in your windshield. Your best bet is to use the ice scraping to avoid any problems. Remember, the ice scraper is only for the windows. If you use the ice scraper on the paint of your car, you will damage the paint. To make your windows more resistant to ice forming, we offer Opti-Glass, an application that creates a durable protection on your window’s surfaces.
Indiana winters are harsh on all cars so to help your vehicle last longer and retain its resale value, bring it car into us. We have the products, equipment, and the expertise to protect your vehicle for the long term! Call us at (317) 333-6872 or click the link below to schedule an appointment!

WHY DETAIL YOUR BOAT BEFORE STORING IT?
We are officially past Labor Day and boating season has come to an end. Even though the boating season is only several months out of the year, you should be caring for your boat year round. Some people just pull their boat out of the water and store it away as is. Boats tend to be a person’s second or third largest investment. If you put your boat into storage without bringing it to a detailer first, you are not treating it like your second or third largest investment. Let’s take a look into why your boat needs to be detailed before winterizing it in Indy.
PROTECT OUTER COATING
As you know, Indianapolis experiences some harsh weather conditions throughout the winter months. Your boat’s paint does not respond as well to the winter elements as it does with the summer’s conditions if it is not protected. A large number of people think that it is not necessary to detail their boat before the winter because nobody will see it so why does it need to look nice? The boat’s immediate appearance is not the problem at hand. Having it detailed is a way of protecting your boat from subfreezing temperatures that Indianapolis is well known for. Also, dirt, debris, and grime can build up after a long summer of taking the boat back and forth through lake water. Even the cleanest lakes still have enough gunk in the water for it collect along the sides and underneath your boat. If left alone until the following boating season, that build up can lead to corrosion and rust. Your boat’s paint, as well as your boat as a whole, will have a much longer lifespan if you take care of it and protect it going into the winter months.
PROTECT SEATS
When thinking about your boat’s interior, the same thought process applies. With all the parties from Memorial Day weekend, July 4th, and most recently Labor Day weekend that you most likely spent on your boat, there is bound to be traces of the parties left inside the boat. The cold winter conditions combined with the leftover crumbs and dirt stashed away in the seats will lead to your delicate interior being not so delicate anymore.
HOW ALL-N-1 HELPS YOU
Here at All-N-1, we are an experienced team that provides the best paint care for your boat. We are certified in providing services using Opti-Coat products that will protect your boat better than anything else from whatever the Indiana winter can throw at it. How to Prevent Car Common Car Paint Problems
Cars can be a beautiful sight to see when it has a gleaming shine and a seamless paint coating. Unfortunately, cars are susceptible to the harshness of Mother Nature and other wear and tear problems. This harshness causes imperfections that will ruin the viewing experience for your car. Luckily, there are prevention measures you can take! Here are some of the most common problems that can occur to your vehicle’s paint and what causes them as well as how to prevent them!
CHEMICAL ETCHING OR STAINING
Cause:
Paint can be damaged by certain elements you should be aware of. Contaminants like acid rain, tree sap, bird droppings, road tar and more can attach themselves to your car’s surface for long stretches of time. When it is attached for a long enough time, it will make a chemical reaction that causes problems for your car’s paint.
Prevention:
Removal of damaging contaminants that can be washed away with water should be washed off regularly. Waxing and polishing your car from time to time will help deter some of those contaminants from attaching in the first place. Be conscious of parking by factories (chemical air), under telephone lines (bird droppings), and under trees (tree sap).
PAINT FADING
Cause:
The sun has the power to change the shade on your skin as well as the paint on your car. If your car is frequently exposed to the sun’s UV rays for many hours at a time, it could be vulnerable to color fading.
Prevention:
The first step is to park the car in your garage if you have one. Having a protective paint coating will help save your car from the beaming sun rays. If you don’t have a garage to put your car into, you need to apply a protective paint coating or wax regularly. You obviously want to prevent your car’s paint from fading but you can bring it on into our shop if that happens. We can restore faded and oxidized paint for you.
ROAD PAINT
Cause:
There is always road construction going on in Indy and sometimes the road paint is fresh. Most of the time there will be signs stating that there is wet paint you should look out for. If the white or yellow road paint manages to get on your car’s paint, you need to take care of that as quick as possible. The longer it is before you bring the car into us, the harder it will be to get rid of!
Prevention:
Ways to prevent road paint from becoming an everlasting part of your car’s paint are to either wax your car regularly or get it Opti-Coat protected. When your car’s paint has one of those two protections, it makes a huge difference in removing the road paint. Keep your car free of road paint by taking preventative actions early on!

4 Fall Car Tips
The fall is one of the least harmful seasons on vehicles. That is why it is the best time to prepare your car for the brutality of the winter. Use this time wisely because before you know it, it will be too late. If your car isn’t fully prepared for an Indiana winter, you will be sorry. We are here to inform you of the necessary steps you need to take!
FIX IMPERFECTIONS
Scratches and imperfections on your car’s surface will be exposed by the ruthlessness of the winter elements. Freezing rain, sleet, snow, and ice can cause rust to form on the exposed areas. Rust diminishes the value of a car significantly! Fixing those scratches and adding a protective layer on your car’s surface can save you big bucks in the long run.
CHECK OUT YOUR TIRES
Indiana winters are notorious for mounting snow and ice on the roads. If the tread on your tires is not up to par, you could be in trouble when the first snow storm hits! It is not a bad idea to invest in a set of snow tires. Your treadless tires may not be causing you any harm right now, but that is why the time is now to handle that potential problem! You should also check the pressure in your spare tire just to be safe!
EMERGENCY CLOTHES AND EQUIPMENT
If your car were to break down right now, you would be fine in this weather waiting for the tow truck or a friend to pick you up. In the winter, that is a different story. It is important to have a coat, hat, socks, and a blanket to keep you warm in a situation where you could be stuck out in the freezing cold. Also having a water and snacks in the car are some things that you will be happy you had handy. A key item to have stored away in your car is an ice scraper. Ice can form in a short period of time. Being away from home with an ice cover windshield and no way to remove it can be very frustrating.
PUT IN FLOOR MATS
The easiest way to keep your interior clean is by having floor mats that you shake off outside the car. It will give you peace of mind knowing however dirty somebody’s shoes are, that your interior won’t be harmed. The winter snow can make any yard messy. If you don’t protect your interior floor with a mat, you are bound to get stains.
This can all be taken care of now while there is still time. Don’t wait until it is too late. We can help protect your car with our professional protective coating services! Don’t let this winter devalue your car!

5 Interior Detailing Tips
It is important that every once in a while you give your car a fresh start with a nice deep interior cleaning. Whether there is a slight smell, accumulated dirt, or sticky cup holders, a car’s interior needs a good cleaning every once in a while. Detailing the outside lets the public appreciate your ride, but detailing the inside takes the experience to the next level. If you want a professional interior detail to refresh your car back to the way you got it off the lot, bring the vehicle to us, and we will do that for you. If you don’t have the time, here are some easy tips to let you be confident about having passengers in the car again.
LEAF BLOWER
When’s the last time you gave your car a deep clean? I am talking about more than just removing the trash from the passenger seat. You don’t know? Okay, you are going to want to start by getting rid of all the accumulated dirt inside the car. Park your car in the driveway and open all the doors up. Take a brush and agitate all the carpets and corners of the car. Now grab a leaf blower and go crazy. All the tough places to reach in the car (where most dirt falls and never seems to go away) will get its well-deserved breath of fresh air.
CONTROL YOUR SPRAY
Spraying your cleaning product blindly everywhere inside the car can cause you problems. Keep it away from the electronics like the lock and window buttons because they could go haywire and you won’t be able to put your window down anymore. Keep the spray off delicate areas such as perforated leather seats. To control the spray from going everywhere, spray into the hand towel or cloth you are using. This will help you control how much product you are using.
START TOP TO BOTTOM
Launch the cleaning process from the top down. You don’t want to clean the bottom and then once you start agitating the top, dirt starts falling and landing on your freshly cleaned seats and floor.
LESS AGGRESSIVE TO MORE AGGRESSIVE
You know what they say, “better safe than sorry.” Use the least aggressive methods and products first. Save yourself some time, hassle, and money because if the least aggressive methods work, then you are done. If you start off with the heavy duty approaches and products, you could possibly do damage to the interior.
REMOVABLE CUP HOLDERS?
Cup holders are one of the toughest areas of the car to perfect. It is usually the stickiest part of the car considering its purpose is to hold your soda. A lot of people never notice that their cup holders are removable. Not all cup holders are removable. If they are, your job just got a whole lot easier. Pull them out and let them soak in water for an hour. When you wipe them dry, they will be as good as new.

Remove Badges/Decals with Ease!
Car dealerships love to put stickers all over their cars showcasing their low marked-down prices or simply that the car is from their dealership. What happens to a lot of people is when they get home with their new car and decide to peel off the decal, it comes off leaving a sticky outline that refuses to come off. This can be very irritating for many. Here is what you want to do from the start when faced with this problem.
SUPPLIES
There are six supplies that will help you get through this process without leaving any marks on your car when removing a badge or decal.
Glue remover
Cleaning cloth (microfiber)
Hairdryer (You will need to be within distance of an outlet in the garage)
Sponge
Soap
Water
PROCESS
1. Clean
The first move is to clean the area around the decal. Have a bucket of soapy water, take the sponge and start cleaning the designated area. This will make the whole process smooth and painless.
2. Dry
You will want to use a microfiber cleaning cloth because it will not scratch your paint. Drying off the car will make sure you don’t have any water spots when this is all over.
3. Warm Up Badge or Decal
In the third step, you will pull out the hair dryer and plug it in. You are going to want to make sure that you are completely dry before putting your hands near an outlet. Also make sure your bucket of water is out of the way and is not near the hairdryer, extension cord, or outlet. Start by turning on the hairdryer and facing it towards your badge or decal. Within a minute the glue underneath the badge or decal will start to melt. Don’t go over a minute as you will start to cause other problems if you do.
4. Take Off Badge or Decal
When the badge’s or decal’s glue is warm and soft, start to peel it off slow and gently. If you take it off too fast, you might rip the badge or decal. That would just be more of a hassle. If it is hard to take off, try applying the hairdryer for a bit longer.
5. Wipe Off Glue with Glue Remover
The last step to get you through the process is to use your glue remover. You might have to use a bit of grit to clear it off completely but it will come off.
Next time you see somebody riding down the road with an outline of a badge or decal, you will most likely think of this blog. If not taken care of right away, you will most likely have to bring it into us to handle. We want you to have a flawless car that turns heads when driving by and leftover glue marks might hinder that experience. Make sure to refer this blog to anybody you know that is getting ready to rip off their badge or decal on their vehicle!

Preserve Your Vintage Car!
Covering Your Car from Mother Nature Mother nature can chip away at your classic car’s lifespan. Exposure of elements like sun, rain, and wind will slowly devalue your car. Too much exposure to the sun and the paint will fade, too much exposure to rain and rust begins to develop, and wind will blow all sorts of objects towards your car which could possibly dent or scratch your car. The safest way to make sure of avoiding mother nature kicking your classic’s butt is to store it away in a garage. By covering it you will be ensuring its protection.
Consistent Checkups
Even for the biggest gear heads, it is a safe decision to have a trusted professional mechanic perform checkups from time to time to make sure there are not underlying problems. Even missing a one particular adjustment could turn out to be a big problem later on. Take advantage of a professional’s knowledge because it can only help in the long run.
Professional Detail
A professional detail will solve a lot of your problems and save you some time too. If your classic car isn’t cleaned thoroughly, the buildup of dirt can lead to paint chipping, rust, and even reduced performance. You will also want to wax your car to give it a shielding power against mother nature’s wrath. To give your car max protection and not have to worry about waxing again, you can take advantage of our Opti-Coat Paint Protection. It will give your car a gloss and silkiness that will add value as well.
Interior Matters
When putting a classic car up for sale, the interior matters just as much as the exterior to the value. The interior should always be clean and there should be nothing left in the car that could leave a smell. When taking your friends on rides, the inside of the car is what makes it feel special. You should not eat or drink anything while in the car because of the risk of spilling and causing stains. A professional interior detail will solve any mishaps that might occur.
Changing Your Oil
This is to make sure your classic car will run smoothly for as long as possible. To ensure a high value on a classic car, you need to be thinking about maintaining its longevity. Regular oil changes will only help its lifespan.
Joy Rides
This is not just to show it off. Going on a joy rides from time to time will keep your classic car running smoothly. If a car just sits in the garage for years on end, the chances of corrosion and rust start to sky rocket. Another benefit is you will have the chance to feel if there is anything wrong internally with the car on these rides. It is difficult to know if the car runs okay when it is just sitting in the garage. So use this information to justify taking your car around the block and turn some heads while doing it! You deserve to enjoy the feeling of riding around in a beautiful car.

Myths Busted about Matte Paint Jobs
We live in a world that loves trends, wouldn’t you say? Lately there has a been a trend with some of the higher end cars that has caught some wind and generating a bit of attention. When you buy a higher end car, you don’t want it to be just like everybody else’s. I am talking about a Matte (or flat) paint job.
Even though matte paint isn’t new to the world, considering that it has been used in the industrial environment for quite some time now, it is relatively new to the automotive world. Since it is not the most common paint job there is, it is not common knowledge yet about what problems and solutions there are for a matte paint job. With the attention that a matte paint job receives and the lack of knowledge about it, rumors have risen. It is like in high school movie when a new kid shows up and the rumors start flying. We are here to unravel some of those rumors and hit you with some truth.
“YOU CAN’T PROTECT MATTE PAINT”
Myth
Even though at first there wasn’t a way to fully protect a matte paint job, technology has advanced. If you use a liquid matte paint sealant that isn’t made to add gloss to the car, then you are on your way to protecting that paint job. You can easily ruin the paint job if you use the wrong substances that include wax, silicones, or fillers though. Some people even think dish soap is okay to use on their matte paint job. These people are sadly mistaken.
“MATTE PAINT DOESN’T HAVE A CLEAR COAT”
Myth
This is more than a just a myth, it is a flat out lie. The clear coat is the reason why it even looks flat in the first place. It is just put on differently. The clear coat on a matte paint job uses dimples and divots to reflect the light in an unusual way so that it reflects its surroundings and not right back at you. Without a clear coat, you are running the risk of irreversible damage to your paint.
“THE DEALERSHIP CAN HELP YOU UNDERSTAND HOW MATTE PAINT WORKS”
Myth
The car salesman has no part in any part of the car’s process other than hoping you buy the car off of them. They may act like they have the answers to make you feel more comfortable about buying another car but make sure you ask a professional detailer if you want answers about a paint job. What makes us sleep at night is your car turns heads, not any sort of numbers game.
Matte paint is a bit more expensive to have applied to your car so if you have any questions, we would love to help you gain more knowledge over the topic. Make sure you ask the professionals if you are not sure about anything related to what is best for your car. We want what is best for you and your ride.

Why Getting Your Vehicle Professionally Detailed Should Be On Spring Cleaning To DOs?
Spring is here (we hope to stay) and a time-honored ritual that remains commonplace is spring cleaning. For most people this is the time of year where they clean their homes but for many others it is also a time for cleaning their cars. If you’re one of those who doesn’t clean their car, we highly recommend adding it to your spring cleaning list. We totally understand that cleaning your house can be enough work on its own and adding your vehicle to your to-do list can become overwhelming, so why not just have your car professionally detailed? We know detailing can cost a bit but it’s something you only need to do maybe once or twice a year, max. The detailing also pays for itself by saving you time you may have otherwise wasted on cleaning the car on your own.
What are the actual benefits of having a clean car? We’ve listed a few below we think are worth it:
Overall Cleanliness
One huge benefit of detailing your car is improving in your vehicle’s cleanliness. When you get rid of debris, dirt and any odor that might be present, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped inside of a brand new car. Detailing can also have many health benefits, especially if you’re someone who has serious allergies or asthma. Vehicles are often littered with bacteria, specifically in winter months when they become cold and wet. A professional detail helps remove dust and can assist in killing germs.
Resale Value
Another common reason for people to detail their vehicle is to increase the vehicle’s resale value. Based on price, detailing is one of the most cost-effective methods available to increase resale value when you’re looking to sell your car. Just like you would spruce up your house before you list it – the same goes for your vehicle. Love it, list it, and detail it.
Safety
A major hidden benefit of detailing your car is your own well-being. It may come as a surprise, but removing dirt and debris from your vehicle can have a profound effect on your safety. For example, your tires can pick up plenty of chemicals, dust and debris over the course of your travels. Having clean tires can improve your handling, braking and can reduce corrosion. Having dirty windows is also a major safety factor. You need to be able to see when you are driving! 🤓

Why Your Car Needs A High End Detail After The Winter?!
During the winter, the salt and other chemicals that are used to keep the roads clear, plus slush, mud and other grime, all get thrown into the nooks and crannies under the vehicle. It also gets splashed up onto the paint. Not only is the road grime detrimental to the paint, it will cause the vehicle's underbody and frame to rust. While you should wash salt and other chemicals off your vehicle as soon as possible during the winter, it's important to fully detail your vehicle in early spring.
Clean the Underbody and Frame
Rinse the grime out from under the vehicle to keep it from rusting the brakes, axles, frame and other steel or cast-iron parts under the vehicle. Once the underbody is clean, you'll be able to work on the rest of the vehicle. While you could clean and detail it yourself, you should have a professional detail the vehicle to ensure that it is free of dirt, grime and harmful chemicals.
Detail the Exterior
We use only the highest grade formulas to care for your vehicle, inside and out. We also repair minor scratches and other body and paint issues. Our exterior detailing includes:
Hand wash
