I couldn’t even like Harrow in my first read of the book but seeing her going from such a dignified and regal figure to this incessantly humiliated, pained and terrified young woman in the seconde volume UPSET me. Even then, she was more competent and grounded than any of her new peers, (god excluded because he was and will forever be beneath her).

The Locked Tomb Cohort uniforms (sketches & lineart)

I’ve been discovering Roblox and drawing the general formalwear of high ranking Cohort officials like Judith and Marta (so roughly 0-1 to 0-11 ranks) as of late :D

Here’s what I’ve come up so far :

- A Regency navy/Navy whites hybrid

- A 70s disco inspired one

- An I’ve been watching too many anime with not so practical but dashing military uniforms

- And a mixture of all the aboveeee

If you have any opinion whatsoever to help me decide which one I want to focus on don’t hesitate, although so far I’ve been obsessed with the first one more than reason : that one feels very simple but effective ?

Also, A big thank you for showing me so much love and demonstrating interest into my art & my interpretations of the series characters, it really made my summer :]

✨ The Locked Tomb series Necro-Cav Pairs ✨

Seeing them side by side, my favs might be Judith, Isaac and Palamades ?

I really tried to translate what I was personally envisioning while reading then infuse it with Tamsyn Muir’s notes (available on her blog !).

There some stuff I need to change/correct for each of them but as a base for future fanarts, this will do nicely :]

Harrowhark Nonagesimus & Gideon Nav (with step by step)

And this is ittttttt, I’am ending these little fanart with the most disastrously intertwined necro-cav pair of them all 🖤

I couldn’t really wrap my head around what was Harrow’s real deal in the first book then the second volume made me do a 360 turn about her (I was a bit puzzled by Gideon’s thoughts and following actions too initially, I was taking every word of her as face value).

Now I adore them both and needs them to be healthy, relaxed and happy so I’am really nervous for however the hell their stories are gonna conclude in Alecto 😃

Silas Octakiseron & Colum Asht (with step by step)

My sheer hatred of Silas made me seriously consider skipping the both of them altogether but at last, I’ve tamed my passions (not really). I still will never not despise this pompous hypocritical but kinda right but wrong goblin (and I l kinda love Colum, so it balances itself out).

1 more and I’am done (juggling between work, health and drawing has made me sloooow) 🥹

Initially, I had no idea how to represent Dulci & Pro (more so Pro) but the lineart ended up creating two coherent and satisfying figures ?

Still bothered a bit with Pro cause I don't remember any substantial bits of in-book info regarding that man, so, I'll be on the lookout for that on my reread and will comeback to those fanart afterwards (cause the seventh continues to deserve more than they were given, such an underrated sweet pair of necro-cav and an overlook pair of characters in general).

Palamades Sextus & Camilla Hect (with step by step)

“He had the eyes of a very beautiful person, and the head of someone with resting bitch face.” when I read that I had a vision and I think I translated it well out of my mind :D

Not much to say about Cam except that she’s cool and awesome and incredible but I need a reread to really absorb that in.

On a side note, I had a busy but fulfilling month at work so social media was out of limit but now I can just pump out those last 4 remaining house pairs fanart and move on to other stuff ~

Abigail Pent & Magnus Quinn (with step by step)

I don’t have much to say about these two expect they never did anything wrong & that Abigail is THAT woman & that Jod looks at his mirror every morning thinking he is a Magnus.

Anyways, these two came together nice and easy, like the previous ones… but those last fourth houses terrifies me (struggling to sketches ALL of them), so is my upcoming work schedule 💀

I’ll make it work but after sacrificing pride month I’ll have to let go of artfight as well this year 🫠

Isaac Tettares & Jeannemary Chatur (with step by step)

My children. And I didn’t knew it until I read Tamsyr Muir’s notes ; the teens being such cringy punk on a budget gremlins completely passed me over.

On a side not I’am SO proud of Isaac’s hair (I did that last cause I was dreading it), there’s nothing more satisfying than having a vision and executing it.

I didn’t expect to enjoy drawing the fourth so much :]

I’am mad at myself for doing this after already having advanced on so many drawings involving the twins cause now I know how I want Corona’s hair to look and how much I want the twins to ressemble each others 🥲

Anyways, it was fun overworking the skin to give them that kind of wax/uncanny dolls looks. Honestly, I thought I didn’t care for the third overall yet I always have an awesome time drawing them ~

Ok, so I’am currently doing headshots of all the houses representatives from Gideon the Ninth so I can have basic references moving forward (I have a lot of inconsistent sketches at the present, I don’t want to progress on them until I know exactly how I want everyone to look like 😭).

Also perhaps I was too harsh on the second house overall ? Don’t get me wrong, they are no fun, and no fun and again, no fun, but they did their best with the little information they got and that’s huh something ? I’am about to embark on my second reread of the whole series and I want to be less harsh on Judith…
