So it really is a simulation huh?
If you think about it, life is a game.
All the challenge that you go through in life are like the quests that lead you to the final boss. Which is...possibly God?
Everything that happens to you, whether it's small or big, it's a quest that needs to be completed before you move up to the next level. As you progress throughout the game, the quests become more difficult. And with difficulty comes more points, meaning you get more experience.
All of us are playing a different game with the same set of rules and possibly the same final boss.
The only difference is that there is no reset button. And we only have 1 heart.

The quote that changed my life
Growing up I used to find quotes extremely cheesy. Probably because of the dramatic use of the "emo" backgrounds with glowing text in Arial Narrow font overlapping them.
Last year however, I made an acquaintance in college whom I've only ever exchanged two words with, but managed to get their number. Their WhatsApp status(yes, a quote from a WhatsApp status changed my life, feel free to laugh because I would too) said something in the lines of the following:
"We have two lives. The second one begins when we realize we only have one."
And I kid you not my jaw dropped. I had this sense of euphoria rushing through my body. The hair on my arms spiked up. Basically, my mind was blown by these 15 words.
This quote means a lot to me and it's what has kept me going. Life is beautiful and sometimes it is difficult to disregard its many flaws. But we really do have only one life, so why not we do the things we like, hug the people we love and explore endlessly.
(Also I recently stumbled upon the quote again. Turns out it's by Confucius, a Chinese philosopher. Thank you, my dude Confucius.)

When nobody believes in you
Remember that all you need is one person to believe in yourself. And that person is you.
Why is it that we seek for approval from others to pursue what we desire most? Perhaps its the comfort that comes with "hey, I believe in you". I'm here to tell you that believing in yourself is the only necessity to chase whatever it is you want. Don't wait for others to come by because life doesn't work that way. Turn your life around.
You believe in you. And that's enough. So go do that thing that you wanna do so bad.

To love and be loved
Being loved is such a beautiful feeling. We get excited when their name pops up in our screen, when they remind us they love us be it with words or actions.
But to love is much the opposite. It is so easy to love another until their negativity floods the room. It is so easy to love them until they don't hear the message you are trying to convey. It is difficult when they listen but don't hear you. It is difficult when they talk but not communicate.
The flaws of your partner mean nothing to you, even when you are in an argument. But them not putting any effort is what truly bothers you and aches your heart. They make it hard to love, when loving is the easiest thing we can do.

Why i love the stars so much
Because they remind us that there is a bigger universe out there. Billions of galaxies and milky ways and planets and moons; you name it. They remind us that we don't really matter. Nothing really matters. You didn't submit your homework on time? Doesn't matter. Someone boke your heart? Shrug it off, it doesn't matter.
The universe is so beautiful. The world is beautiful, it's just got this really ugly side to it. But if you look closely, it can really be wonderful.
Nothing matters, so why not we grow to be content with our lives? Do what we actually love. Be a nice human being. Hug your mom. Smell your pet's fur. Nothing matters and it is all so beautiful.

Rules, rules, rules
Why does everything needed to be guarded with four walls? Or maybe that's just the impression we get. I noticed that I have been lacking motivation to create anything the past year because I felt the need to follow the rules that govern art. I would love my photography but doubt uploading it just because I didn't use the rules of thumb. This had happened to everything I've been creating. Poems, art, crafts, whatever it be.
But then I realized...the walls are not even there. Literally, these rules that have been created for us to follow, we don't necessarily have to follow them at all. We should feel free to create and explore and upload and be open to compliments and criticism. All of our work is unique. None of it is perfect. Not even the best of the best. We're all absolutely beautiful in our own ways, and so is our art.
So here I am, writing. Finally. After so long. There are no walls. And even if there are, I'll break them down and move past.
