Hey, just stopping by to tell you that every depiction of the christianic satan with horns is fake
The depiction was originally created during the times when christians were trying to drive ‘pagans’ out of existance by complicating or falsifying parts of various old religions.
Satans ‘horns’ came about as a way of defacing the celtic god cernunnos, who was a prominent and highly extold figure with variations in almost every religion, including
Herne, english god of the wild hunt
Pan, the great god of the wild in greek religion
Pashupati, hindu god of animals
Veles, slavic pantheon
Probably definitly more
All of which had horns/antlers
Also, the word ‘pagan’ was created as a derogatory term, meant to be synonymous with witchcraft and devil worship.
Which is why i refer to those religions as the old religions.

Tonight, I end the first part of my series on the creatures of legends. It really was an important job for me! It allowed me to deepen my knowledge, to discover new creatures and especially to improve myself. Tonight, I put an end to 6 months of work, 12 drawings that I loved doing, a considerable number of hours on my computer ... phew! This is the first time I'm going so far in a project. I hope you enjoyed it and that you enjoyed discovering with me these fantastic animals and their legends. There will surely be some news that will come, but it will not be until January to see February. During this time I intend to start two new projects for which I will invite you to speak! Without further ado, I present you the Unicorn! It was unthinkable to make a bestiary of the legend without mentioning this icon of the fantastic animal. But where does this figure come from that everyone knows? To tell the truth, I did not find an answer. As surprising as it may seem, the unicorn appears in virtually every mythology (sometimes under other names). It was mentioned well before our era in China under the Kirin, was revered by the Celts and became the emblematic figure of purity and at the same time of male / female sexuality in the Catholic era. The unicorn is known to be fierce. She does not let herself be approached except by those she deems worthy of her (virgin women or pure-hearted women most often according to the versions). Its horn that characterizes it so well would be endowed with great power and would possess many medicinal warts. To meet a unicorn is the assurance of being able to live in peace. To kill one curses you. This graceful animal is very difficult to define nowadays (its overexploited image, it confers innumerable powers ...). But who has not dreamed of riding one across the forest? Thank you all for your support ! Feel free to share the page and leave your opinion! PS: I remind you that the commissions are open! You can also find me on Ko-fi! https://ko-fi.com/aeronmorhioghain

Good evening everyone ! I hope you are going well.
I suggest you discover the Kirin tonight ! Also known to be "the Chinese unicorn", he would be a very old, known and respected spirit, spread throughout East Asia (China and Japan among others). The first appearance of the Kirin mentioned would date from around -2300. He is then revered in the same way as the phoenix or the dragon but over time, his myth has tended to run out of steam in favor of the two previous animals.
This animal is usually represented in the form of a horse and more rarely in the form of a deer. In the high antiquity, he was affiliated with justice and presaged the birth of a son promised a great future in the home. In modern times, he became the symbol of any beneficial manifestation: longevity, glory, wisdom, peace, fertility, justice ...
According to legend, the Kirin would also be the element that would link the four sacred animals that dominate and preserve the balance on Earth. The globe would then be divided into four zones, similar to the four cardinal points. For each area, a sacred animal reigns and watches. The White Tiger in the West, the Phoenix in the South, the Green Dragon in the East and the Black Turtle in the North. At the crossroads of these four kings would be Kirin, lord between the worlds and reigning over terrestrial animals. He is the point of passage between life and death, earth and sky, high and low. As such, lightning is the element that is most often linked to him (lightning being the only natural element that is neither water nor land, nor fire, nor air but which can not exist if one of these elements is missing). Crossing the Kirin is a promise of prosperity and luck. Maybe one day will you have the chance to cross his majesty? That's all I wish to you <3
The next creature will arrive this Thursday. This is Kirin's European cousin, an idea?
Tomorrow I'll post a new fanart from Undertale !

Okay guys, I know you're very few but still, I bad To share Her work with you ! It's an adorable little gremlin who produces hilarous and beautiful things !
News
Well, well… It’s been a while!
So I don’t know how many followers actually still check what I’m drawing but I feel like I owe an explanation for my lack of content for the past few months. And this is it:
What is this? That’s the start of the webcomic I’m currently doing (that I have been working on since January actually) with my sister. My sister (Narcissa) is a writer and had a lot of struggles as a writer. And she decided to talk about it in the shape of a webcomic. As she can’t draw, she asked me to draw for her (and as her sister I do appear quite a lot in this).
There’s a lot of humor, a bit of everyday life and of course, we talk a lot about how is it to try to get published or to promote yourself in a world where it’s hard to do so. I really enjoyed working on this, we’re still working on this because there are so many things we wish to share through this. So, if either you’re interested, or just curious, you can check it out here! https://www.narcissa.org/
If not, please reblog, it would mean so much for us. We enjoyed making this and we just want other people to enjoy and to give us back some feedback (like all struggling artist, we need love!)
Thank you so much if you read all of this, I will stop bothering you. (This is also why I won’t be posting much fanarts anymore (I still do but a lot less) so I apologize for the few people who were following me for that! ^^”)
Have a nice day! And thanks again!

Good evening to you all!
Tonight, we're going to Asia to the land of the Rising Sun. I suggest you meet the Kappa !
Coming from Japanese Mythology, the Kappa is a Yokai with a fairly important notoriety, but very less in front of others like the Kitsune. Described as being half-monkey half-turtle with a beak, the Kappa has the ability to move on two or four legs and would have an intelligence comparable to human one. His skull would be hollow to hold water and that is where his strength and powers would come from. It lives mostly near Japanese freshwater but can be far from it, especially to get to nearby towns or villages. Like most yokais, Kappa can be as peaceful as aggressive depending on its mood or your behaviour. He is known for being very facetious, and having a pretty perv mind. Some accounts explain that he would go to the villages mainly to steal food or have fun watching under the ladies' kimonos. If the Kappa feels poorly respected or assaulted, it enters into a black rage and it can then become the worst of monsters. It is said that out of revenge, the Kappa would be able to slit the throat, drown or even rape its victims (including men, women and children ...).
The Kappa is still very polite. One way to neutralize him would be to bow low enough to greet him (in Japan, people greet each other by bowing. The lower you bow, the more it shows the respect you have for your interlocutor). Out of politeness, the Kappa will bow in turn and if it does enough, it will lose the water contained at the top of its skull and become harmless. The other way is to give him cucumbers because he just loves it. Still, it's probably not the most adorable creature to meet. So be careful if you feel like walking along the waterways. The next creature will be much better company! An important figure in Asia, lord of the fur-coated creatures and associated with lightning, it often bodes well. Any idea?

Good evening everyone ! As promised in the post of the Loch Ness monster, our legendary creature safari takes us to Greece today. I propose my illustration of the Hydra.
Greek mythology is littered with creatures and monsters of all kinds, it's a fact. But Hydra is probably one of the best known, and one of the most dangerous too. Born from Typhoon and Echidna (two important characters of Greek mythology), Hydra was raised by the goddess Hera, wife of Zeus. It is a monster with dog's body and multiple dragon's heads that would be near the sea, near the ancient city of Argos that was terrorized by his presence. Much later the goddess, who is certain of the invincibility of her beast, gives a Greek hero the mission to destroy the Hydra. This is the second job of Hercules. In addition to its colossal size and venomous fangs, Hydra is renowned for the following particularity: for each cut head, it repels two and it is told that the central head would be immortal. Helped by Laolas, sent by Athena, Hercules manages to kill the Hydra. For that, Laolas took care of cauterizing the wounds just after Hercules cut off one of the heads so that they do not grow back. Ultimately, they cut off the last immortal head and buried it alive so that it could not regenerate.
If we believe the legend, Hydra would still be alive, somewhere underground in the Peloponnese, waiting to see the light of day and take his revenge ... So be careful if you spend a visit to what you could find underground .
As always, do not hesitate to share and leave your opinion! Yesterday I gave you a first glimpse of the next creature. It will be an aquatic creature of Japanese mythology reptile type quadripede (able to move on two legs also), known to be able of the worst as the best. An idea ?

The last one for today ! I present you the famous Loch Ness monster !
This is probably the best known Scottish legends. The first modern appearance of the monster goes back to the beginning of the 30s: a man affirms, photo in support, that he would have perceived a huge monster on the surface of the lake then that this last one would have plunged and disappeared in the black waters. This news to create a real crowd movement and attracted a lot of tourists and scientists in the Highlands. This infatuation has even led the media to baptize the creature "Nessy". The lake has been surveyed, searched and scrutinized many times over the decades that followed without any sign being given by this creature (knowing that Loch Ness is one of the deepest lakes in the region) . The cryptozoologists who investigated this creature have retained two possibilities: either it would be a sea serpent or an animal close to the plesiosaur. It is by using the second proposition that I realized this illustration.
However, years later, the man behind the rumor admitted that his photograph was actually a hoax, but the myth created by his lie continues. Today we find Nessy in a lot of books or films and regularly, amateur photographs are posted on the networks, where we would see Nessy (but in 99% of cases, it is about photomontages or blurry photos where a shadow takes on a strange appearance). But after all ... are we really sure of what roams under those black waters?

You must have already understood what the next legend is. This is probably the best known of fantastic animals: we will talk about the phoenix !
The phoenix is very probably the most universal mythical bird. It is found under different names in the four corners of the world, in almost all cultures. Among the Greeks, the Persians, the Christians, the Torah or the Romans, there is one thing in common: in all, the phoenix is a bird associated with fire and is the symbol of an infinite cycle, of renewal. It is often associated according to the civilizations to the cycle of the seasons, to the cycles of a year, to those of the nature ... According to most legends concerning him, the phoenix would be the only representative of his kind: when it dies, it ignites and then reborn from its ashes which makes it immortal - no need therefore to reproduce. It rarely ventures near Men, living in arid lands or remote volcanic. But for those who would have the chance to make his meeting and befriend him, the phoenix would become his guardian, ensuring him luck and especially protection throughout his life. The phoenix is faithful but never enters conflict, especially human, too wise to take part.
