GUYS! I've been reading this random CN novel I picked on an absolute Whim and I haven't slept for 2 days because tell me why the MC and the ML are giving reincarnated Shen Jiu and Yue Qingyuan vibes!! The novel is sooooo freaking good too!!

Excuse my rant but I HAVE TO SHARE THIS.

The story is about this very famous modern world actor that gets into an accident and accepts a deal from the System to finish a couple of worlds -transmigration style- in order to go back to his original world (because he doesn't want to leave his best friend's grave unattended and all alone for too long 🥺)

The mission worlds are considered finished when the targets regret level reaches 100 points. BUT BUT....! here is when it gets super interesting. at the end of arc 1 mini spoiler ahead :)

we quickly and shockingly discover that the OG body owners ARE STILL ALIVE!!! They're still inside the body but unable to communicate when the MC Transmigrates into their bodies. The MC is Shen Jiu coded but has to act like Shen Yuan to accomplish his mission (so it's like reverse SVSSS)

-Also guess who the ML is... hehehe-

Anyway, The Novel is: Don't pick up boyfriends from the trash bin.

It's rated 4.7 out of 5 and it's crazy good I tell you. We have a big Villain as well as plot twists every arc and wholesome slow burn, power couple and Hua Cheng's Style DEEP DEVOTION. so please go give it a try if you ran out of Shen Jiu’s fanfics like I have lol

Shen Jiu would be so weird about porn actually. Obviously he wouldn’t consume anything with women because he doesn’t want to degrade them, and he wouldn’t consume anything with with men because that’s disgusting, and he wouldn’t consume anything with people because he can’t conceive of lust as anything other than inherently violent and destructive. He wouldn’t even jack off because then he would be no better than the other sex obsessed, lust-addled men around him.

Of course he’s a radical supporter of sex workers, but only the women, and he wouldn’t care if women were jacking it this way and that. But if he sees a man pop a boner even on accident in the throes of puberty, that is actually inherently wrong and you are immoral if you do that.

I feel like I have to mention this, I'm so sorry in advance but that's basically the longterm after-effect of sexual assault.

Some survivors would become overly proper and "decent" in public because even the slightest shows of intimacy or love could be triggering/ intimidating sometimes downright nauseating, and I don't even mean a kiss... sometimes handholding or standing in a close proximity would feel threatening or "improper" because you unconsciously start viewing everything as a power exchange and you subconsciously don't want to give anyone that kind of leverage over you ever again so you draw about a hundred lines between yourself and others until you're completely isolated but safe.

I feel like mentioning this is important because a pretty big chunk of Shen Jiu’s personality is actually a trauma response that hides what little is left of him. We can only imagine what a Trauma free Shen Jiu would be like but I have a feeling he'd be extremely sensual. he'd love to touch and explore with his hands and would know all his kinks and preferred traits in a partner.

My favorite Shanks theory has got to be why he was taking a vacation in the East Blue of all places.. Like all these crazy theories out there saying he might be secretly evil or that it was his grand Master plan with Luffy's devil fruit and all...

Do you ever think about how Shen Yuan was completely valid for his reaction to PIDW?

If you've ever wondered how Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua might've experienced PIDW (whether writing, reading, living it.. etc) just watch Supernatural.

I was watching some Supernatural episodes and I just realized this is our real life PIDW, we have like 15 seasons?? (Literally nobody else I know have even watched or finished the series except for me. My family & friends thinks I'm delusional for watching this very long trainwreck)

Plot? Is so long and rich that I genuinely discover new things every time I decide to rewatch ANY of the seasons... Everytime I discover I forgot some pretty major events. but sometimes it's also lowkey bad writing and we have BIG plot holes that nobody addresses even after the show ends.

World building? Magnificent. If not for the new cool creatures (new wives) added left and right never to be mentioned again.

The main wives_ ahem, creatures..(Castiel, ALL the angels, Lucifer, Gabriel, "the prophet"... you see what I mean..?) were really cool and powerful at first until they got lost somewhere in the plot.

As for Characters? Don't get me wrong I love my boys, but you have to admit Sam and Dean were ridiculously overpowered. They killed every single being under the sun (HOW did the universe in Supernatural not collapse??? You cannot convince me all that messing around did NOT cause some catastrophic power imbalance in creation Itself!!) including themselves like an unreasonable amount of times and just came back to life completely fine after and kept walking.

Honestly OG Luo Binghe could only dream of reaching that level of plot armor. No wonder my guy Shen Yuan was pissed.

Meanwhile, I just want to live in Cang Qiong mountain sect.

Think about it, if not for the drama between Luo Binghe and his Shizun, Luo Binghe and his father, Luo Binghe and his future Harem, Luo Binghe and the Palace Master, Luo binghe and_

Cang Qiong is actually a pretty decent place, you get to cultivate on a mountain away from people while everyone underneath the mountain would automatically show you respect, everyone's a pretty much introverted or somewhere on the spectrum and they leave you mostly alone to do whatever you want to do as long as you show up to these two events that happen every 4 years or so, and if you're in secluded meditation you don't even have to show up.

Your boss Yue Qingyuan is kind and a very decent human being if we ignore his blatant favoritism, and that he would most likely burn the sect for that one person... but that's okay honestly, you would too for Shen Jiu_

And you get free food, an allowance probably, top quality Healthcare, your own weapon of choice, a resident body guard / mercenary / hunter / (LQG is whatever you want him to be if you play your cards right)

All things considered, Cang Qiong is a very decent comfort home no matter as a peak lord or a disciple.
