Warriors
Tumblr media
Marvel Comics keeps having to ret-con war veterans as serving in wars closer to the current year. Nobody can be fighting crime who served in World War 2. They moved from WW2 to Korea to Vitenam, and have now ended up concocting a fictional war to stand in as a more permanent backstory for Vietnam War service. Archie's solution here is to just make Beazley a cook, who even here a service in WW2 is a little off, for any and all generic foreign wars.

The War. The Same War. Same difference.

A curious matter. The drill sergeant of a new principal lays down the law in the faculty lounge. The question about this decaf coffee. Is he barking this in the same tone as everything else, suggesting black coffee or nothing at all, which is out of sorts for the health consciousness of the scene -- or is the decaf having a brief softening effect?

Little baby man goes to jail (dp x dc fanfic prompt)
Recently I've been seeing a lot of little baby man Danny content, and I love it. But most of it centers around Danny's relationship with either the Wayne family or the justice league, and I've wanted to see other character dynamics.
So I thought that when Danny in little baby man form comes to the DCU, instead of being found by Damian in an alley or something, he takes the time to wander around Gotham—becoming the equivalent of the local homeless cat to the residents. Wandering around where ever he wants with no one knowing who he belongs to or where he came from. And during his wandering, he can get into some bizarre places with the help of his intangibility. And during one of these adventures, Danny finds himself in a really weird place with a LOT of strange people. But hey, there's a lot of ectoplasm and the people seem to need an emotional support cat. And all the while continuing to wander around the rest of Gotham.
His interactions with villains like Solomon Grundy, Mr. Freeze, and Scarecrow would be interesting because different parts of himself would interest each of them. With both himself and Grundy being semi-death beings, his ice powers may interest Freeze, and even though he's in his little baby man form, he still radiates cosmic horror, so Scarecrow is interested. But this could also be the chance to include lesser-known dc villains like calendar man or the Gentleman Ghost. As well as others that he could either meet in Arkham or around the city.
Maybe even running into some of the bats with none of them able to catch him; this, in particular, makes Damian angry and more determined to do so. And when the joker catches wind of the city's new pet, he knows he needs to see it for himself. Danny, for his part, the little chaos gremlin that he is never not going to take the chance to fuck up a clown.

Golden Age of Comics Supervillain Mount Rushmore
So saw a few vids about Supervillain Mount Rushmore (The four best of the best ) and I wanted to do my own,Ill do 5 of these :Golden,Silver ,Bronze ,Modern and all time .Also feel free to share your own rushmore
Rules:Just doing DC and Marvel
Will limit the villains to the era they appear in
First the Golden era(1938 -1956 )
Will give 12 contenders
Joker
Catwoman
Lex Luthor
Mr Mxyzptlk
Red Skull
Penguin
Vandal Savage
Solomon Grundy
Cheetah
Two Face
Riddler
Scarecrow
My runners up
For me Cheetah ,Riddler ,and Scarecrow are out immediately .I dont know Cheetah that well,Riddler while a personal fave didnt hit his heyday till the silver age and poor Scarecrow is good but he's kind of always a brideasmaid never a bride
I love Vandal Savage buuuuuuut hes very niche, not to many people know him
By contrast people know Grundy (Hes in the Crash Test Dummys Superman Song afterall )and he is a personal fave but I cant put him as one of the best
Catwoman could easily take a spot ,she is iconic and is a fave....But her allegiences kind of shift ,she flip flops from villain to hero to anti hero a LOT
Two Face is one of Batmans greatest foes ,but I dunno,I personally dont see him on the rushmore
Penguin .....Is so close to being on the rushmore .Hes one of the most iconic villains ever.......But by a hair I chose someone else
My Golden Age Villain rushmore
Mr Mxyzptlk-This might be controvercial but this is a golden age rushmore, and I strongly felt we need a comedic villain on the Rushmore .This 5th dimensional imp I feel is a perfect example of the Golden Age ,and he is a personal fave of mine . It was really between him and Penguin....And I just think Mxy represents the Golden Age more
Tumblr media
Red Skull:Big part of the Golden Age :Nazi fighting ,and of the Nazi villains in comics he is the most iconic .He is Marvels first real iconic villain and as a supervillain he is one of few who just....Gets under my skin, being just a nasty pure evil son of a bitch
Tumblr media
Lex Luthor:My personal favorite supervillain ,the evil genius who always battles Superman .Over the many decades Luthor has evolved from being criminal genius,a mad scientist to representing corporate and political evil, but remains consistant is his envy and hatred of the man of steel ,the man who with his great intelect COULD save the world, but his petty hatred and ego make him a villain
Tumblr media
Joker:The easiest pick .Joker has kind of become the most iconic villain in comics .He is the most versetile from goofy prankster to maniacal psychopath .He has an amazing design and he plays off Batman superbly ,the grinning colorful villain to the dark grim hero
Tumblr media
So my Golden Age Villain Rushmore is Mr Mxyzptlk,Red Skull ,Lex Luthor and Joker
Who is your golden Age villain rushmore

the Forsythe Chronicles
Tumblr media
Grappling for story devices, Jughead's real name was once Frothingham. Though not much used, It would get codified as Forsythe by 1962 at least.
Tumblr media
Given these two stories were published a month apart in 1968, it would seem they came in with some stated premise to establish and reiterate Forsythe as the name, and then also try one silly concept.
Tumblr media
Foreshadowing the magical hat pin of a decade later and then another half decade later after that, the mere mention of his name sends the girls in an uncontrollable passion, key difference that Jughead is not into it.
Tumblr media
A bit curious too, a flashback in the Little Archie -- though a false flashback, mirrors the manner Mr. Weatherbee convinces Jughead to take his given name in a story a decade later. One other thing to note on the Little Archie -- in that narrative universe, Miss Grundy's name is something other than Geraldine.
Tumblr media
The various edicts and attempts by Weatherbee or Grundy to use the formal name of Forsythe all end in defeat.
There is something notable in the teaching staff calling you by your nickname, or nickname of sorts. I think back to seventh grade with this -- mixed feelings with one teacher. It seemed kind of a stilted informal-ness and chumminess a tad unbecoming.

Not unlike the sort of "concerned mothers" in the Mrs. Grundy vein who feared the Morally-Destructive Effects of Saturday-Morning Television to such extent that, thanks to their efforts, such programming started taking on a sissified look from the mid-1970's on.
