Las palabras del moreno causan que su corazón se encoja, antes de negar “Yo no…” las palabras salen en un susurro, antes de relamer sus labios para poder continuar “Phoenix siempre va a significar algo para mí, Zander”. Por más de que lo intentara, a la de raíces argentinas le resultaba casi imposible superar totalmente a su ex novio, por más de que haya pasado tanto tiempo. “Pero él y yo nunca volveremos a ser algo más que amigos” la verdad era que, por más de que lo deseara con todo su corazón, no estaba segura de sus palabras. “Él está enamorado de otra chica y yo…” se interrumpió para tomar la mano ajena “Yo quiero estar contigo, me gusta mucho lo que tenemos” una pequeña sonrisa triste se cuela en sus facciones, sintiendo como un nudo se forma en su garganta “Aunque se que no te merezco.”

‘ lo sé ’ había aceptado que el ex novio de la chica ocupaba un lugar permanente en el corazón de la argentina desde tiempo atrás. lo comprendía pero eso no significaba que aquello le doliera menos. se queda callado por un minuto, inmóvil, incrédulo ante aquellas palabras que deseaba oír pero que su mente se negaba a aceptar, no bajo esas circunstancias y casi involuntariamente, niega con la cabeza ‘ no julieta. yo quiero estar contigo pero... pero no así. quiero que estés conmigo porque me quieres, no como una alternativa porque crees que no podrás volver a intentarlo con él. no quiero ser tu segunda opción. ’ y no puede creer que hubiera sido capaz de decir aquello cuando lo único que deseaba era eso, estar con ella, que fuera suya y de nadie más.

También soy torpe y vivo arriesgando mi integridad por andar con tacones a diario —soltó en broma para aliviar un poco el ambiente tras ese increíble rescate—. ¿Estás seguro cielo? Bueno, me encargaré de llevarte a casa aunque… ¿podríamos primero ir a dejar a este bebé a una veterinaria? Prometo que no te quitará mucho tiempo —acotó esperando a que no le causara mucha molestia. Simplemente dejaría el cachorro allí e iría por él en la mañana para conseguirle un hogar o, en su defecto, adoptarlo ella.

se le escapa una risa al escuchar las palabras ajenas y definitivamente le hace sentir mejor saber que no era el único que sufría tropiezos constantes ‘ si yo usara tacones, estaría en la tumba ’ responde y asiente como respuesta a la pregunta lanzada por la contraria ‘ seguro y claro que sí. no hay ningún problema. ya estoy abusando demasiado con pedir que me lleves como para exigir llegar enseguida. además también quiero ver que el cachorrito esté bien ’
