So, I'm writing a fanfic about the doctor's regeneration. I think we all agree, that ending was very abrupt no matter what side of the aisle you're on. The intention with this is for it to be a contemplative piece to bookend the series. But this was an idea I had since the announcement of Ncuti as the 15th Doctor. So this is a perfect time to weave it in. A lot has happened since then so this will also be a subtle critique at some of Russell's choice's, having mostly to do with The Doctor; but there will some things in there about Belinda and Ruby, hopefully leaving their farewell's on a thoughtful note.
BUT NOT SO FAST. I have a question, tell me your thoughts: Should I describe the regeneration? We've all seen it. I was gonna use it to lead into The Doctor waking up in the Tardis but do I need to? Describe how he was feeling regenerating? What would you guys like to read: how he was feeling regenerating, or how she's feeling having woken up? Both?

"i'd hoped there'd be stars" is so gutwrenching to hear because the doctor knows the stars as a site of transformation. you could say the thesis of the show itself is that beholding the stars, going to the stars changes you. but the twelfth doctor believes this with his entire being. he thinks a dalek could change if it saw the birth of stars. he thinks missy can change if they travelled the stars together. even after being trapped in the confession dial for 4.5 billion years, looking at the stars to learn that he's been there for a very long time burning himself up, over and over and over, he'd hoped there'd be stars at the end. just like at the beginning when he stole a tardis and ran away. and transformed.

Oh my god he’s finally done. This has been literal months in the making.
A fully posable felted Mr. Ring-a-Ding doll. Is this considered a doll? Idk

I made him some shorts because it would have felt wrong making him stand there with nothing on. Making his clothes is the next plan.

And here’s him standing next to all the materials I used! He’s felted onto a galvanized steel wire frame with garden wire for his hands and fingers.

NuWho doesn't play with time travel nearly as much as they should
Remember when we had Jamie and Victoria in the same Tardis and they were both terrified of a helicopter but just had to go with it because 2 told them to?
Remember when we had Jamie "idk man i just play the bagpipes" McCrimmon and Zoe "if you don't understand quantum physics you're stupid" Heriot in the same place?
And it's not like NuWho hasn't done this. Look at Jack and Rose, Nardole and Bill, even River and the Ponds kind of counts.
But tbh I don't think it's ever used to its full potential
Like. All of time and space. You could travel with literally anyone. There's so much comedic potential here why are we not using it?

Bro this crossover/crackship yaoi has been rotting my brain, it’s insane- I imagine them as friends-to lovers-to exes/rivals during the era of cartoons. Not sure what their ship name would be tho this ship is dumb as shit LMAOZ

it's insane to me that people say 13 had little to no/inconsistent characterization when she has a clear arc and personality....like 13 did not spend most of her era bouncing around yapping at a million miles an hour and nearly biting everything and everyone just so you can say she doesn't have any characterization

you guys have nothing on me I love all the doctors
nine? fave. if you go around telling people to skip him you understand nothing. i love how everyone says he's emo when he's just a ptsd ridden little guy with survivor's guilt and is actually so silly and fun and at the same time so intense and scary. they spent 26 series posh picking the cast and when they finally choose working class actors as the leads after a 16 years hiatus and a film that failed, the show's back for another 20 years. think about that. christopher eccleston had the worst time shooting because of his health problems, his dad's dementia and cancer, and the production behaving like shit towards him. billie piper was a very young popstar (younger than me, and im still just a child) who got exaggerated negative feedback following the casting announcement, she had nearly no acting experience and furthermore was put right next to a 40 y/o actor whose name was already big in the industry. and they both aced it. they had bonker chemistry, and the writers managed to make the age gap so unimportant (aka not make nine weird to rose) to a point where I forgot the 20-year gap when they shared a kiss.
ten - well, I think there's a reason he's so many people's fave. tbh david tennant's the reason I started the show. and even though nine stole the podium of my brain, ten is up there as well. he is the most human out of all his incarnations and yet he remains one of the scariest as well. tennant has this respect for previous actors who played the role and which made him easier to warm up to as the new face of the show. he managed to find a balance between mimicking his predecessors' quirks (crossing his arms with his thumbs out like eccleston, saying "well" and tilting his head like - I think - tom baker etc) and finding his own thing which made him both familiar/loveable and unique. not to mention his chemistry with catherine tate in series 4 is absolutely mind-blowing. series 2 is the weakest in terms of plot per episode, but if you take it as a whole, it's so fkn smart. people shit on series 3 and martha but her series has so many bangers (including martha herself) and same as the last 2, plot continuity is bonkers. and don't get me started on series 4. i think ten is rightfully up there and fk people who say he's overrated
as for eleven, i have to admit i had my ups and downs with his first series, but you really do get attached to this manic pixie dream girl/night terror demon like damn baby. he seems all cute like a puppy but this man is actually deranged and somehow that makes him even cuter. just like the previous two, matt smith is an incredible actor with a surprising range. i'm not too fond of moffat's insistence on making him say overly sexual stuff all the time when he seems like one of the more asexual incarnations... but then again, i'm ace and one of the beings with the most disgusting dad jokes up my sleeve that you'll ever meet (i just don't like the reason behind eleven's sex jokes is all). eleven's funny, stupid, ridiculously loveable, completely adhd-ridden (which is very relatable). there's a word for him in french, "attachiant". i couldn't find an equivalent for it in english but it's basically a combination of the french words for "endearing" and "annoying". anyway i love him (i wanna put him in my pocket and feed him twix)
twelve... aaah twelve *fond eye-roll*... what a piece of work. i love that he seems all gruff and grouchy with his eyebrows and aversion for hugs (and blatant autism), but he's actually one of the more humane incarnations. he is, deep down, what eleven tried to pass himself as (a loving, gentle being), but tries to pass as what eleven actually was (a tired rough old man). i love that both clara and bill see straight through the bs. also, peter capaldi is mind-blowing in the role. strangely enough, i would trust him more than i'd trust the previous three. i love the no-nonsense exterior when deep down, he is the most nonsensical person in the universe. i love that he breaks character everytime he's confronted with a child, and that he's forgiving even when he shouldn't be, and that he insults people so honestly when they piss him off (he reminded me of nine in that respect). my sister hasn't even reached his era yet but she already loves him (and i just know he'll be her favourite)
thirteen has a lot of controversy around her and you know what? scratch that. she's my baby boy and that's it. i agree that her series are not the best (the last 2 were more than ok though) but thirteen? she slays. first of, i love jodie whittaker. man, she's good. i love that sometimes she looks like ten and sometimes like eleven and sometimes even like nine, but that she has her own little thing that makes you go "yeah, she's her own doctor, and she's great at it". i love the little whim that she brings to the character. i love that deep down, she's fucked in the head (she's the doctor, after all). just like for eleven, it took me a whole series to truly start to appreciate her, but man did she grow on me. i love the self-awareness when she realizes she's been putting graham, yaz and ryan in danger, and how it makes her act, and her accent is great and kind of reminds me of nine's. anyway, thirteen defender all the way. fuck yall who don't like her
fourteen: i don't have much to say about him since he was only there for 3 eps but just know that i would give my life for him without an ounce of hesitation. he's so precious <3 i'm glad they didn't make him 10.2, he's his own little doctor and he's cute af and he owns a lot of people's hearts including mine
fifteen: the moment he got on screen, i knew i loved him. ncuti gatwa is such an incredible magnetic force istg. none of the problems i have are with fifteen, they're all with the writing of his 2 series. cause fifteen was bonkers amazing. what a laugh he has. what a presence. i'm not even attracted to him but he still makes me go all "hehe" inside. i would follow him anywhere <3

I want the Doctor to get triggered by someone booping her nose, is that too much to ask? Maybe Ryan does it as a height joke or Yaz as an affectionate teasing thing, anyone, and the Doctor has a full-blown panic attack right then and there. Because what are they about to do to her now? More experiments? Another forced regen? A secret third thing that is equally bad?
#AND they used to boop Ace's nose as a form of affection and probably wouldn't do that anymore#everything The Doctor does in the narrative from then on is not only influenced by the doctor's past in the time war#but also by what Tecteun had done to them#I keep saying this!#the only way they can move on is by healing and allowing the people around them who care to affect them moving forward

Doctor Who is being taken off of HBO Max at the end of the month, which was the main way a lot of people, especially their American audience, were watching it. If you don't want to pay for BritBox, buy all of the DVDs or resort to... other methods 🏴☠️... there are still a few ways you can watch it.
Dailymotion has almost every episode, including most Classic Who ones. Just search up the episode you're looking for and you should find it. However with Dailymotion there will be no subtitles and a bit of a visual quality drop. Most episodes of Torchwood can also be found there as well.
Internet Archive has a few as well, specifically series one, series two, and series three. I've also seen some Classic Who episodes on there as well so if you're looking for a specific one it's worth a shot.
If anyone knows another (preferably legal) option please reblog with it.
If you're more interested in physical media Internet Archive allows you to safely and directly download, and there are plenty of Dailymotion to MP4 converters online (be careful though, I have yet to find one that is ad free). After that you can move them to a USB drive or DVD or whatever else you'd like.

Is there a massive spreadsheet somewhere that lists all existent Doctor Who expanded universe content, sorted by Doctor era and including which other characters are featured?
…because this feels like the sort of thing that some terrifyingly dedicated fan out there definitely created, I just don’t know where to find it.
