1) jesper explains that he thought kuwei was wylan

2) gives wylan the painting his mother made of him that he stole from the mental hospital

3) guides genya in remaking wylans face from memory. and stays there for hours while she works even though hes incredibly anxious & antsy ("I didn't know you were paying attention." "I was paying attention.")

4) wylan asks genya about training for fabrikators at the little palace for jesper & opens up about the thing HE is ashamed of, not being able to read, to show jesper its okay

5) jesper-typical flirting turns into jesper bringing up the previous point and wylan is straightforward and jesper gets defensive and wylan pushes and says things too raw that jesper doesnt like to think about.

6) wylan tells him he must be using his power to be such a good shot leading to "Why do you have to say things like that? Why can't you just let things be easy?" "Because they're not easy. You keep pretending everything is okay. You move on to the next fight or the next party. What are you afraid is going to happen if you stop?"

7) jesper freaks out, he feels scattered, thinks he needs to get out of the room, and wylan makes him take a deep breath and stay for the first time

8) he kisses jesper and suddenly jesper is focused and centered & his anxieties are gone. "It was a gunshot. It was prairie fire. It was the spin of Makker's Wheel. Jesper felt the pounding of his heart—or was it Wylan's?—like a stampede in his chest, and the only thought in his head was a happy, startled, Oh."

4. Did I wake you?”

The sun is just starting to set when Jesper returns to the mansion.

He’d spent the afternoon with Kaz, treading familiar routes through the Barrel. It had felt good to be back, slipping effortlessly into the role of sharpshooter, Dirtyhands’ second, the familiar weight of his pistols on his hips, but he still found himself missing Wylan and feeling guilty knowing that he’d been in Council meetings all day.

A quick chat with their housekeeper in the mansion foyer told Jesper that Wylan was home, and had apparently been in the office for the last few hours, but the room was empty when Jesper went to look. He checked the parlour and the music room, before figuring that he might as well get changed before continuing his search.

Stepping into the bedroom, he finally finds Wylan, curled up on their bed in one of the last remaining patches of early evening sunlight. From the look of things, he hasn’t changed out of his mercher blacks; his shoes are by the door, his jacket and tie thrown over the back of the dresser chair. He’s not even under the duvet, covered only by one of the blankets they’d brought with them from their room at the Slat.

“Jes?” Wylan’s voice is thick and heavy with sleep as he rolls onto his back, blinking blearily up at him.

“Sorry, treasure. Did I wake you?”

“Mm, s’okay. What time is it?”

Jesper shrugs off his suit jacket—orange plaid today—and checks his watch. “Almost six bells.” He kneels on the side of the bed and leans over to kiss Wylan’s sleep-warm forehead. “You okay?”

“Mmhmm, I was trying to sort out some of the ledgers but I already had a headache after the Council meeting. I didn’t mean to fall asleep.”

“Love, you’re one of the richest men in the city, I think you’re allowed a little nap if you want one,” Jesper says with a smile.

still can't believe that Jesper, who frequently forgets things he did and said, was able to remember every freckle, every eyelash, every slight curve of Wylan's face, and the exact color of his eyes, so vividly enough that he could recount it to another person even though he had only known that face for a few days, and been apart from it for about two weeks. One of the most beautifully romantic things in the entire Grishaverse and to be frank we have yet to give it its flowers

9. Moving around while kissing, stumbling over things, pushing each other back against the wall/onto the bed

Wylan fumbles to unlock the door to their room, thoroughly distracted by the way Jesper is plastered up against his back, sucking wet kisses onto the side of his throat and unsubtly grinding his hips against Wylan’s arse.

Once he finally manages to get the door open, Jesper shoves him inside, wasting no time slamming the door behind them and pressing him up against it.

They both lean in to each other at the same time, mouths meeting a little awkwardly and making them laugh, before Wylan curls his fingers into Jesper’s hair and tilts his head to the right angle. Jesper groans softly against his lips, restless hands already starting to wander, grabbing at his hips and pulling him closer to grind against him again.

Wylan is suddenly keenly aware of how hard they both are in their trousers, and shoves Jesper back towards the bed with urgency, a feat made all the more difficult by their shared reluctance to stop kissing for even a second. He’s working on undoing Jesper’s buttons when Jesper trips on something and stumbles, only saved from ending up on the floor by Wylan grabbing onto his upper arms.

“I told you to stop leaving stuff on the floor,” Wylan laughs as Jesper huffs at the offending object.

“Shut up,” Jesper grumbles back, kicking off his shoes (and leaving them where he’ll probably trip over them again later) before lifting Wylan clean off his feet and dropping him down onto the bed.
