I will never understand the Claire vitriol radiating through this Fandom. I personally am not a huge fan simply because of how little the character is fleshed out. The reason? A potent combo of showrunners' choices and a tight 20-minute air time.

What we do see, unfortunately, is a tell-don’t-show character - a low-energy manicpixiedreamgirl that relies far too heavily on 'Meet Joe Black'-levels of mutually-longing stares between her and Carmy. BUT she is a mentally healthy, relatively put-together character who is trying to navigate through the Berzatto family and their world, which is decidedly unhealthy.

There is nothing inherently bad about Claire, even if she does interfere with your precious [add your carmy x _____ ship here]. Nobody (character or actor) should receive this level of unhinged hatred.

I LOVE The Bear...

...But the mental gymnastics the "Syd-Carmy" shippers do to "prove" why Carmy and Sydney are "in love", "end game", "belong together", etc. is straight up rabid, scary, and second-hand embarrassment worthy. Like I just rejoined Tumblr last week after a years-long hiatus and am thinking of abandoning it again because "The Bear" content is waaayyy over-saturated with just these two characters-- The gifs, the essay-length explanations for why Carmy's eyes "twitched a certain when he looked at Sydney vs. Claire so like that totally means it's Sydney he loves", the fan-fiction, everything. I just can't get with it.

I would say the real, internal, deep-seeded reason why I really think the Syd-Carmy shippers want them together so bad, but I don't even feel like it because I know it'd be like talking to a wall 🙄

People can ship who they want, and I know that's pretty much what this site is for, but I can't stand when people conveniently omit details, leave out context, and just milk stuff to death. I hope the show writers aren't bullied into altering their intended story just to please these deluded people
