a new normal

its funny, really, how something as simple as noah caring enough to take note of jude’s ridiculous coffee order meant so much. or, @robertisbisexual put this idea in my head and i couldn’t shake it.

Jude had always wanted to be a part of the Devil’s Nation. He’d grown up craving it, needing to be a part of the empire his father had built, wanting to sit behind a desk in the Devils Arena and be a part of it all. He had that, now - in a way he’d never have imagined, with his name on the deeds and in full control of the team, his father nowhere to be seen.

Not even thirty yet, and he owned his own basketball team.

It was more than Jude could ever have dreamed of, and he loved it, he did - he thrived under pressure, loved the challenge of being a leader, of having the responsibility that came with being owner.

He’d just imagined it all happening in a different way, that’s all - with a ring on his finger, and a husband by his side, and a house of his own. Jude had always been a fantasist, the kind of person who believed in a happy ending, because you didn’t survive growing up like he did without desperately dreaming of your happy ever after.

Still, Jude knew more than anyone that life didn’t always work out like you’d planned it too, and so he could hold his head high, and get on with it. Jude had a team to run, after all, and he’d rather be sitting in his office, going through paperwork, than sitting in a quiet apartment on his own.

He was moving on, he was - but it was slow, and Jude sometimes just craved the stability of a relationship, of having someone to come home to every night.

Silence was deafening, sometimes.

Pulling at his tie, Jude leaned back in his chair, eyes blurry as he tried to take in every word on all the paperwork strewn across the desk.

It had been a long day.

“Knock knock.”

Jude looked up to see Noah standing in the doorway of his office, coffees in hand. He was clearly on the way out of the arena, wearing a sweatshirt and looking the polar opposite to the stylish, boundlessly energetic man he’d been on the court after the game, giving the Devils all the coverage and headlines they needed.

In a way, Jude sort of appreciated how comfortable Noah seemed to be around him. It was easy, sleeping with Noah - the other man seemed to know exactly what buttons of Jude’s to push, to have Jude melting in his hands. It wasn’t complicated (yet, at least) and it was fun.

It had felt like a while since Jude had fun, real fun.

“I brought you a coffee,” Noah explained, taking Jude’s smile as a ‘come in.’ It had been, if Jude was being honest. “Low fat latte with two extra shots and sugar free vanilla, right?”

Jude’s heart, embarrassingly, started thumping in his chest. He and Noah had been for coffee together all of about twice, in the past few weeks, yet here he was, able to reel off Jude’s ridiculous coffee order without a problem. “Uh, yeah - how did you remember?” he couldn’t help but ask, sitting up a little taller, gratefully accepting the coffee Noah was offering him.

Noah simply grinned, settling himself on the couch in Jude’s office. There was an unspoken agreement between them, now, that Noah tended to stay away from Jude’s desk. Noah couldn’t spill secrets if he didn’t know them, could he?

“Did you ask the barista?” Jude questioned teasingly, pulling his tie off the rest of the way and moving to join Noah on the couch, sipping at the piping hot coffee. It was exactly what he needed, if he was being honest - a caffeine hit, and a ten minute distraction from the mountain of work he needed to do now Jelena was gone, a new EVP top of his list.

“I remember the things that are worth remembering,” Noah said, leaning in closer, close enough that Jude could study every inch of his face, every freckle and line, the tiny scar above Noah’s lip Jude knew nothing about.

Noah was new. He was new, and unfamiliar, and unchartered territory, and before, it would have scared Jude, because he was a control freak - he needed to be able to map out his every move, be able to be the one in control in order to feel comfortable.

(That’s why things had been so hard with Zero sometimes, he supposed - he’d never been able to be in control when it came to him, and maybe that had been what had broken them in the end. Jude had wanted control, stability and Zero had never so much as entertained the thought.)

Jude just - well, he felt like he had nothing to worry about with Noah, really, because it was easy, it was simple. It was sex, with a gorgeous man, who happened to know his overly complicated coffee order.

Jude could embrace this as the new normal, he really could - because maybe life wasn’t working out according to plan, and there was no ring on his finger, but there was a man who was interested, a man who cared enough to take note of Jude’s likes, sitting on his couch, smiling at Jude like he was here to stay, and well - it felt good.

It felt like it could be something good.

About the shipname problem...

I don't know if it has been decided yet, but I've seen people using #Nude as a way of referring to Hit the Floor's Jude x Noah and I seriously believe it's a problem (especially if you're exposed to shit you don't want to see in the tag). So I'd like to propose this one: #Noude. I've suggested #Judah a while ago, but both this tag and #Joah are compromised. Since we still don't know Noah's last name, I think that's my better offer.

My thoughts on episode 2 of Hit The Floor season 4.

OMG OMG OMG I have so much to say about the second episode that I don't know where to start. Jude and Lionel will take put the most in this and even Jelena. So let's start.

Derek is back with his bitch threatening my boy Jude, rein your horse Derek before you get stomped all over. Well he did get stomped all over, his arrogant is gonna pay for all the shit he put Jude through.

Glad that German is back, and we all know the reason why Raquel took the fall for him, was because she was dying.

Lionel's reaction to Jude getting laid is priceless, as is her reaction when she finds out with who.

Eve should back the fuck away, if she touches Jude, I am gonna be pissed. She's not a very good villain, everytime she does something that will hurt someone, for example Jelena, she smiles, and it's like she keeps on pointing her fingers at herself, and saying 'I did that, I did that, praise me.' shut the fuck up, if you want to do something bad keep it to yourself.

I freaking love Noah guys, I don't know why, but I do. Maybe it's his smile, or the way he effortlessly charmed his way into my heart. THAT SLAP IN JUDE'S ASS is what did me in. Maybe even when he tease Jude to the point where Jude can't resist anymore, and kisses him. I just love Noah as whole, and I cant wait to see what they will do with them two. SEX SCENE IN THE OFFICE IS MIND BLOWING.

MY KING JUDE AND MY QUEEN LIONEL, ARE GAY. Well Lionel is bisexual. So guys my two favorite characters are gay, isn't this awesome.

Well isn't that a nice slap in the face, now you are gonna have to apologize Derek, because if you don't, you are gonna lose a chance at get back into the NBA. But you can relax Jude isn't a bitch, he's a nice guy who never stabbed you in the back.

So you all realize by now, that we won't be seeing Jelena till the end of the season, this is her last episode for Hit The Floor, since she runaway with Miguel, to keep him from his disgusting father. And she also did good by selling to Jude, he will be great.

So those are my thoughts on ep2, I might fix and add more in the upcoming days.

My thoughts on episode 1 of Hit The Floor season 4.

well this is only going to be about Jude, so don't expect much, I might mention Derek and other characters.

As much as I am disappointed and sad with Adam Senn's departure from the show, I am gonna keep on watching the show. The explanation for Zero departure was shit as fucking hell, because Gideon would never do that. His relationship with Jude was his first relationship based on real feelings, he came out with Jude by his side, he showed his past to Jude, he was ready to risk his life for Jude, so saying he wasn't ready for more and ready for marriage is complete bullshit and we all know that, it would have been more believable if you said that he died than that he wasn't ready for more, for fuck sakes they were planning to move in together, in their own home, that they made together. Okay let's move on to Jude in Season 4, I am very sad that Jude is visibly suffering from losing Gideon (that wouldn't have happened if Adam freaking Senn didn't decide to leave the show) but he's kinda good with Noah. Let me be honest, at first it was super difficult to accept that there will be no Zero, but after seeing Noah and Jude together, kissing and everything my heart felt a little better. The reason my heart felt better is that with Jude and Noah being together gives more diversity, two gay man in a relationship not only that, the relationship is interracial, so it's more diverse, which I don't mind, so I can't wait to see what they will do with their relationshi.... But secretly I won't mind Zero coming in the middle of show to claim his Jude back, and I think all of us want this.

OK, Derek coming back was kind of unexpected, I don't really know how to feel about him being back (the 'drown bitch' still haunts me) What is also unexpected and unbelievable is the reason why he isn't with Ahsha in Miami. And Pete acting as tho his daughter can do no wrong.

Okay the two new girls are going on my freaking nerves. They are like Ahsha and Jelena in the first season. Bickering like little kids. The homeless chick (lives in her car, came from Chicago?!? to become a devil girl) is even more annoying, acting all jealous and secretly hating on the other girl without any other reason than the fact the other girl might outshine her. Suck it up, and work your ass out, don't act all envious without any reason.

Glad that Jelena is back, she was always great (loved her more that Ahsha since the beginning and I am glad that she decided to stay on the show and that she didn't lie like Adam, who never had busy schedule, Logan had such a busy schedule aka filming Dear White People, promoting the show, and she still came back.) and I am also happy that she kept on taking care of Miguel and is actually planning to adopt him and make it official, that boy deserves all the love in the world.

Pete's dead buuuhuuuuu, didn't even like him. I am not downplaying his dead, he had a hard time, finding out that his daughter aborted his grandchild and than going back to drinking after being sober for a long time killed him.

Ever since the first time I saw Zude together, I easily became attached to them. I loved them with my whole heart, and I still do. But it was Adam Senn's decision to sink my ship, so I am now just attached to Jude. We will see if this new love interest is worthy of my boy Jude. And if he is, I going to support him.

At first glance, Jude and this guy look super sexy together, and I wouldn't mind seeing them making out and doing the deed.

July needs to hurry. Girl needs her fix.
